beware $282 for a cut and dye and a few foils! My hair appointment cost more than going to my specialist at the hospital! It took 3 hours to do. My hair was cut shorter than I wanted, and the dye came out darker than I wanted, and the highlights were streaky. I gave her plenty of pictures and was very specific about what I wanted. I figured out they take very few hair strands for each foil and every foil is $15 so it adds up in the end. It is just a very light piecy streaky highlights. Very disappointed. read more

After more than 20 years of having the same person cut my hair, they we're no longer able to do it. Searching for a new stylist fills me with anxiety, I have curly hair and things can go really wrong! This week I visited a Taylor. I am beyond happy with the outcome. I showed her pictures of what I liked, told what I didn't like about my hair when I walked in, but told her I wanted something that looked good for me. She accomplished that! Let's see, 5 years later and I'm still visiting the Clip Shop when I'm in town to have my hair cut by Jennifer. I even brought my husband along this time and he looks even more handsome, as if that was possible! I love the service, the cleanliness, the bright lighting and obviously the quality of The Clip Shop. You can have anything and everything done here, a one stop shop. I brought my entire bridal party here for hair and makeup a few years ago and the staff was just wonderful. Everyone looks beautiful. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Bennington! read more

I normally don't do this, but after my awesome experience at the Clip Shop in Bennington, I had to send a review. I'm here for the summer from Florida where I've had the same nail tech for 20 years, so I was a bit nervous. No need! Upon walking through the door, you can't help but notice the spaciousness of the clean well run establishment. The polite receptionist had me wait no more than 5 minutes for Jenna, who was friendly, efficient and again, so safe and clean. They never reuse their supplies on more than one client. I had a fabulous mani/ pedi I just keep looking at cuz I love it so! Great people, great place , ask for Jenna, she's the best! read more

Allison was wonderful! Her knowledge in her profession is above any stylist I have had in 8 years. She listened to what I wanted and delivered. I went back the next week and had my hair light lights done. Again she listened and delivered... As for the hair products they recommend buying. I have been pretty happy. Except I grabbed the wrong strength hair spray. The shop does not guarantee satisfaction on products they sell in shop. I had my hair and makeup done by Allie for my wedding on August 15, 2015 at the Bennington location (I was married at the West Mountain Inn in Arlington). My sister also had her hair and makeup done by a different stylist. I can't say enough good things about Allie. From the trial session where she insisted I relax and put me at ease, to her helpful guidance with my hair (and accommodating my veil) to the makeup she was sweet, kind and professional. Both my sister and my makeup came out GREAT and lasted the ENTIRE night without smudging or running. She was right when she said the makeup was supposed to "last for 45 minutes of swimming"! Many hours of crying and sweaty dancing later I still looked great and my hair was beautiful. My sister's up-do was also beautiful. I had a less than desirable experience at the Clip Shop. I booked an appointment and arrived right on time. When I parked my car I saw the woman who was to be cutting my car outside eating lunch and smoking. This is all well and fine except for the fact that she was 20 minutes late for my appointment. I almost got up and left because I thought it unfair to wait for her to finish her lunch and cigarette. What was almost more aggravating was the fact that she never apologized for being late for the appointment. The experience as a whole just put a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning to the Clip Shop for future business. read more

My husband, my daughter and I all go to Megan who is delightful and does a beautiful job on our hair. We get what we ask for and she always puts so much of herself into the work she does. We've been going to her for 5 years now and highly recommend her. My daughter recently wanted to have her hair dyed - ombre style. Megan spent a lot of time with us explaining what would likely happen when dying black hair. She told my daughter what type of dye and color she would recommend and offered to do a sample piece. As a result, my daughter has continued to think about the decision, which is wise given the amount of money and possible consequences. well, if you like snotty, ignore the customers attitude, run to the clip shop now! i had an appointment with Donna. I walked in for my appointment, and was told, Donna is running at least 30 minutes late. I asked why i wasn't called and was told donna said they didn't have my phone number. the receptionist then looked in the computer ans said, oh, is it xxx-xxx-xxxx? of course it was. they just didn't have the courtesy to look. by the way, donna came highly recommended. Whatever her skills with hair may be, I will never know because my willingness to tolerate the way she treated a client outweighs my curiosity about her expertise with hair. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have been a long time customer as has my mother and sister of the Clip Shop. The place was MUCH better when Vaso ran things. The manager John is very unprofessional. I was given the wrong coat by my hairdresser after my haircut and returned it, telling the receptionist it wasn't my coat. They said to get my coat in the back off the racks. (The hairdressers take your coat when you come in). Well my coat was nowhere to be found! Another hairdresser gave my coat to the wrong customer. I had to wait for over an hour to get my coat back, which has my car and house keys in the pocket. I understand this was an honest mistake but I waited over an hour and the salon told me it wasn't their fault! Well then whose fault was it??!! Their hairdresser gave my coat to the wrong person! I have been coming to The Clip Shop for years and will NEVER return again. I asked the receptionist if they could comp my haircut or if they would do anything. She had me speak to the manager John who was beyond condescending and unprofessional. He told me they have a sign up that says not responsible for lost items. Well then don't take and lose customers coats!!! Unreal! He kept calling me "honey", very condescending. He said he wasn't going to do anything about it. Like I said, I understand it was an honest mistake but really, couldn't throw a freaking free nail polish my way??!! I had to wait an hour after my haircut for the woman to come back with my coat!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Vaso would be very disappointed. I do not recommend going to this salon, $37 for haircut, save your money and support another business that still values long-time customers. DO NOT GO TO THE CLIP SHOP!! read more
