The fruit and veg they don't grow themselves comes mainly from other farms in the UK, although a few bits and bobs come from further afield (although I would say that even in winter, this was the minority of stock). In addition to wonderful veggies they have so much meat it is unbelievable. Pretty much anything you want you can get - they also do a fabby steak pie and other pretty tasty and reasonably healthy ready-meals. But we are not finished yet - local honey, UK liqueurs, fruit wines, local jams, sauces, condiments, cheese, ice-cream, deserts, crackers, breads - seriously, a lovely place to make a gift basket or to treat yourself with a gourmet dinner. Prices are very reasonable for the produce - in fact I would say that it is often cheaper than supermarket. Meat and ready-meals, I don't mind paying for if they are quality - which they are. I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked (and deceivingly large) the store is. Perhaps it was only well stocked because it was move-in weekend for the Freshers, but the inventory on the shelves were plentiful. We even found a beard trimmer plug to UK electric plug adapter there! The check outs were plentiful and efficient for self check out. I'm glad my child has this Tesco nearby for all the essentials.

There is also a medium sized car park at the rear. It sells unknown brands for lower prices. The quality of the food and household supplies are acceptable and well within the value you pay for it. Their sweets section is one of a kind and the chocolate a must try. They also sell cat food called VitaCat that my cats like and which is a bit cheaper than the popular brand names. Household items are particularly well priced: toilet and kitchen roles, cleaners, candles..... You can also rumble you special on offer items, which are exchanged each month. During Christmas time they are much better stocked with a wider selection. For bread and meaty goods, however, I still shop somewhere else, but in any case my household bills have decreased.

The media are always mentioning how amazing Aldi is with its cheap produce and all that jazz. This Aldi is quite big for a city grocery market - well bigger than I expected. And they have a pretty big car park! I visited on a sunday afternoon and it was busy. One thing you notice is that the aisles are narrow. They have the fresh veg on the right hand side when you first enter. Then meats and fish followed by milk and cheese and then prepared foods. I came specifically for their fillet of beef - a bargain at £4.99 for 170g (it wasn't bad!). Aldi also sell things you didn't realize you needed - like an exercise mat or face cream for £2.99 (hey the magazines say it will get rid of all of your wrinkles!) Aldi have some great deals and if I lived closer I'd be a regular!

If you have a problem or require assistance there is aways a member of staff on hand to assist you. Most people say that sainburys is very expensive and i think that most of their products are reasonably priced and i don't mind paying a little extra for good quality foods. Sainsburys also have a basics range and there own branded products. They have special offers weekly i think they change on a Wednesday there offers are kept on the ends of the aisles so you can see clearly as you walk through the shop instead of walking up every aisle. Our store has lots of parking outside plenty of disable and parent and child spaces. We have two cash machines outside the store.
