The show opens with showgirls coming down stairs wearing costumes you would expect of a show like this. In addition, the first 4 to 5 minutes is accompanied by Viva Las Vegas, non-vocal and slower style. If you want my attention, play Viva Las Vegas. Bright light city gonna set my soul, gonna set my soul on fire. It has and still does! After the opening number, there are various numbers--a Western theme--you never saw saguaro with such bling, two bathtubs and couches, a number that begins with Rhapsody in Blue, and finally Ms Von Teese doing her iconic champagne glass strip. Performers come down from the ceiling and do their part of different numbers, There are a number of male dancers to accompany the women. They also wear headdresses and other costume pieces to match the female dancers. The music and sound are right on. I chose my seat in Row A, the first row beyond the cocktail table floor seats. I think they're the best seats in the house. For those who might be hesitant to see a striptease show, don't be. Ms Von Teese and her dancers do a fine job, and it is a classic art form. I left the show knowing I'd be back to see it again. I'll wait until the damn Formula 1 paraphernalia is removed and traffic is eased a bit. An evening of pure delight. PS: Taking photos or video is prohibitied. However, just before curtain call, an announcement is made to get out your cell phone and taking photos is OK then.

Another person is walking around changing your big bills to $1 for the show. They explain that whenever you see something you like/enjoy/impressed by you throw the $1 towards the stage to show appreciation! Even people seated in the back will toss the $ so there are dollars everywhere! The lights dim, the show opens and the fun begins! Now I'm sure it's different each time but definitely worth the price of admission! Check it out while in Vegas, you won't be disappointed!

Mavericks is no exception. From the emcee to the ushers, crew and performers the show and talent were jam packed. Music was on point. Even the playlist prior to the opening. Anyway, emcee 'miss behave' was absolutely hilarious and full of overt and dry humor. The performers and their stage personalities were quite unique and super fun. Very high energy. Not to mention some outrageous talents. Talents that are rare to see at such an intimate venue. And a nice mixture of burlesque, old school Vegas in there. Servers and other staff made you want for nothing and everything was easy peezy. Highly recommend.

WOW! First timer!…read moreMagic Mike has been on the bucket list--so my daughter and I celebrated our birthdays together here last night. It was not what I expected. First impression was overwhelming on my scent senses. The smell across the lobby and theater is very much different. Not exactly your casino pumped air of freshness nor the aroma of a smoke lingering casino but rather it really stank bad mixed with overbearing cologne. As you walk into the theater prior to showtime you are greeted by ushers that escort you to your seats. That part was very much appreciated. We got there early with plenty of time to look around and put in a drink order. However, we watched the almost empty theater we walked into early, fill up and everyone else get their orders taken, and we were neglected. The show started promptly around 7:30 PM with an entrance of fog spreading throughout the room. I started choking on the fumes. This was an immediate downner. And then around 7:45PM a server finally came up around our area. I couldn't hear a word the waiter said --My Daughter ordered a mocktail and paid cash. The man brought back the Cash and decided to tip himself. Thought that was pretty cocky of him. It didn't say anywhere on the menu that the tip was included. The show was extremely loud, so I'm glad I brought my earplugs. The lighting and continuous room scents spraying into the seating area was also very overwhelmingly disturbing and an issue especially with my asthma and allergies. From where we were sitting in our own private booth under the main entrance of the stage stairwell where the guys came out, it was a pretty cool view. Performance wise--The most memorable part of the show was every time the guys came past us they would give us high fives. I absolutely loved the hip hop dancing and the female hostess she was the most entertaining person in the show in my opinion. She was humorous, sweet, and a great storyteller. There was a male singer--he has a great voice and stage presence but didn't really understand his part of the show. It was kind of disconnected. The water dance scene with Mike and the female dancer was so good! Then let's talk about the male review--if you're comparing these guys to the movie then there's definitely some differences. The choreography could use some more work with the group pieces. The individual b-boy dances were much better, though! The dancers all very fit and in their element but most of them appeared extremely young. And ultimately, I was completely in awestruck of this performance turning into an audience participation show that at times appeared as mini sexual fantasy orgies throughout the room -- making it uncomfortable and awkward. The dancers would appear very aggressive towards audience engagement... I was not expecting this and I lost respect for the purpose behind Magic Mike. I don't think in the movie it was intended to portray all of this. What happened to the elegance appeal in a females beauty and being a gentle-man towards her? The behavior in the room was completely inappropriate. I feel strongly that the producers should take another look at how this performance might affect audiences. Most woman probably wouldn't have been as honest as me. But the film was much better. This performance needs to be censored as X-rated and aggressive sexual partner audience participation-- now I'm wondering if this is even remotely legal. As the show concluded, we left the theater. I felt dizzy as can be. I had only water. But possibly the room effects just made me spiral. I was however excited to pick up our pictures the photographer took at the entrance in the beginning. I gladly paid extra for that souvenir memory book. :)

The short version of this review is that you need to go as soon as you can!! The show, coming from the well-known Lin Manuel Miranda, is in the Summit Room at The Venetian. All employees checking us in, etc., were very kind and helpful. Photos allowed before the show and the performers give about 5 or so minutes at the end of the show where you can take photos or video. Everyone on the stage is so talented! The primary musical anchor is hip hop and the main focus of the show is improv! Each show will be different as the audience is different. We shared some fun verbs (they riffed on "ghosted"). They asked for an example of something that should stay in Vegas and we got 2: misused a bidet and had amazing sex and she's 70! They asked for a headline version of an intriguing story (we got kid locked in porta potty). They asked for long-time relationships and heard all about Andy and Helen. Lastly, they had someone come on stage and tell about her interesting day in Vegas (dumplings, napping with drool, breaking the craps machine, etc). These performers wove everything in and frequently referred back to earlier people and stories. Great singing, great rapping, the human beatbox (and all-around sound creator) was amazing, great musicians, and The emcee was outstanding. Even then they weren't sure if that was correct. Mandalay Bay did nothing to correct or accommodate anyone who came. Now for the good news there were several live musicians on hand at different locations in Mandalay Bay to enjoy. My rating is for Mandalay Bay. While yet again on another journey here, communication is poor and lacking, the overall experience there was fun in spite of bringing us in with a show that isn't even performing for a month. I would love to give you five stars Mandalay Bay, please improve communications. I am however giving 4 stars due to the fact there was still a lot of music to listen to although not songwriters, which is what we truly enjoy the most. PS. This is the 4th time in a row we came to Mandalay Bay and that there website or their employees did not have the correct information as to what is going on. It is such an easy thing to fix and yet it is a persistent problem there. I hope they will figure it out as I really love the hotel.

This isn't just a magic show. It's an incredible, entertaining, interactive experience from beginning to end. Kent Axell is truly one of today's greatest mentalists and magicians. I was actually picked to be part of the show, and I was completely blown away by his abilities. And it's not just Kent -- the entire experience is fantastic, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The staff is amazing, the bartenders are fabulous, the atmosphere is incredible, and every little detail adds to the experience. I will continue to recommend this show and bring my out-of-town guests over and over again. If you're visiting Las Vegas -- or even if you're a local who thinks you've done it all -- GO SEE THIS SHOW! You will not regret it. Absolutely one of my favorite Vegas experiences!
