I also loved loved the summary that I got from the school after the coding lessons via email. My son has been going to the Coder school for a while now, and absolutely loves it! He really responds well to the 2-students-per-coach lessons and learns so much better in that personal atmosphere. My daughter has been a student at this school for 2 1/2 years and has learned so much. The school is ran incredibly well and has a great team of instructors. They make the learning experience fun and inviting for the students which encourages them to participate and learn more. My 14 year old son did a one week coding camp in the summer of 2023 and asked to sign up for coaching sessions. He has been doing 1:1 sessions for over a year and has had a great experience. They are very flexible and accommodating with rescheduling lessons and my son has enjoyed the sessions a lot. He has had 3 or 4 different instructors since he started and I wasn't sure what to make of it, but the transitions have all been good and my son has had good experiences with all of his coaches. He is not a serious coder and wanted to do it just to learn python and I think it was a good thing for him to do. I believe he has gained a good foundational understanding of python and have been pleased with the experience overall. Everyone on staff has been very pleasant, professional, and accommodating and I would recommend to anyone whose child might be interested in coding. Starting with the 1 week camp is best I think. read more

Right from the beginning (signing up more info, to talking on the phone with the owner) the experience has been great. The coach has been great with our son, he looks forward to his classes. With the classes our son seems to have developed more love for technology and coding and has developed more confidence. Best place to send your kids for coding!! My kids love coming here and they always look forward to their classes. The coaches are exceptional and I love that they always summarize what they learn after each lesson and communicate this with the parents via e-mail. Jacinthe and Tasha are amazing at rescheduling lessons due to illness, vacation, or other activities; they're also really good at pairing students to the right coach, as well. We were referred to this school through friends and took a trial lesson with the owner, Mark. It was a no brainer to sign up both kids to learn coding at this school. They are super organized and accommodating; have a clean and cozy facility; and, the coaches make the lessons fun and the kids learn a lot during every lesson. Absolutely SURPRISED this place has 5 stars. We had a free trial with Mark the owner of this specific location. He was extremely rude to my son (6) because he wasn't "up to par" with what he wanted him to. He's never used a computer mouse and Mark kept making rude remarks like "oh come on" that's not where I said click. Or, "you're not ready for this program yet" just overall belittled my 6 year old. He's SIX dude, not 10! kids all learn at different paces, especially if it's something the poor kids never done before. It baffles me to think people actually like this guy. He's horrible with young kids and absolutely has NO PATIENCE at all. I would definitely NOT attend this specific location. read more

Mark (manager/owner) is knowledgeable, great with kids, and passionate about coding (and teaching it!) and you can see it from the first time you meet him to set up a free trial. There are several class options to choose from and the school is as flexible and responsive as it gets if your scheduling or other needs change. My daughter has been attending The Coder School for about a year. The coaches are either Comp Sci majors (in college) or people that do this for a living. I was a computer scientist for 20+ years and know how the process of code development should be done. This is a good environment that encourages learning and taking chances with your code. Kids come away excited, yes excited ! not like the typical classes they (are often forced by parents to) go to. Lesson plans are well developed and the coaches for the most part have excellent communications skills. Note that this is not an IPSF class. It is MUCH BETTER than the IPSF classes. Great way for kids to learn coding. My son learns virtually which is so convenient for me so there's no conflict with my other kids' activities. The instructors make it fun for the kids to learn a complicated skill. My hope is that my son will learn to do the more complicated coding as he gets older.
