If you're a coffee connoisseur, this place needs to be on your radar. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is ok but what really makes it is that they freshly roast their own beans. In fact, I typically only get their espresso beans when I go in and then make lattes at home with them. I've tried locally roasted beans from all over the area and Coffee Factory has the best, hands down! I didn't think it made much of a difference at first but the freshly roasted beans have so much more flavor and the crema you get with them is on point. When you walk in you'll see huge burlap bags of imported beans so you know it's the real deal. Try their beans, these guys roast right on site weekly and they know their stuff. read more

We didn't leave disappointed at The Coffee Factory in Derry, especially with their homemade cinnamon buns, it was extra delicious warmed up! Their breakfast sandwiches and coffee lattes are also good. However, the overall aesthetic is quite outdated and they should remove the nasty stained carpet and replace it with hard flooring. It's not pleasing to look down and see all the dirty stains when your eating-it's gross. The decor, including the stuffed bear on the piano, feels a bit old-fashioned. Additionally, there was an electric fireplace in the middle of the wall that looked out of place and bizarre. This place could use a brightening up to make it more inviting. The overall feel for the place is calming and neutral. The service is okay, they take around the same time to serve you as most places take. The food however, specifically the smoothies I have ordered there, aren't that good. I first ordered a strawberry-banana smoothie and didn't like the tastes so then I ordered a just strawberry smoothie and didn't like that taste, and finally, I ordered a peach smoothie and didn't like the taste of it. This place was huge for a coffee shop. I got a black dark roast coffee since they are a coffee roaster and it was pretty good. They only had a light and a dark roast and I usually prefer medium but for dark roast it was decently balanced so I was happy. They had local artwork for sale and cute chairs. Really disappointed. Drove 2 hours to meet my brother after a tough family situation. Decided to support local rather than go to Starbucks. Meeting up for coffee and a snack. Coffees were good; the only food on any shelf was a lone bagel. So we ran next door and bought a pastry to have with the coffees. We were approached and told no food could be brought in. That they had no food - as the website promoted - it didn't matter; no food can be brought in we were told rudely. No apology. Stopped in here two consecutive mornings for hot coffee. Both times I ordered a medium dark roast with room for cream. Both times they only had a light roast ready to go - so they made me fresh dark roast coffee to order. I always add cream to my coffee - no sweeteners. Both days the coffee was strong, tasty, and hit the spot. Got the neurons firing the way I needed. There is a good bit of space inside for folks to sit, hang out and work. They have some cool furniture. The chairs that surround each table have the backs with a coffee logo carved out of them. There is also this really cool, ancient, old school cart that was cleaned up the owner - it used to be a stand for holding window frames while they were being painted. Now it is a coffee table! We drove out of our way to support a local coffee roaster. We got into the location at five minutes of closing and I was immediately told that they weren't sure what they could make since they were closing in five minutes. I asked for a latte. They told me that they were sorry but they couldn't make that. Not food. Not a smoothie. A latte at a coffee shop. Having worked as a barista for many years, I was beyond disappointed. This is my first negative Yelp review, and I'm so disappointed to give it to a local coffee business. See response below. Culture of closing early is management policy. Wonder what else they do to inconvenience customers to save a few bucks on wages. Folks who are mad at Starbucks need only look at the market opening that this type of disregard for the basics of food service create. Serve during your stated hours. No more. No less. Clean up and shut down after you serve your customers (with the caveat that a lot of side work can be done before). Unfortunately, I'm not interested in spending money where the few bucks the owners save getting their likely underpaid workers off the payroll a few minutes early is more important than just average customer service and expectations. My husband and I like to come here on the weekends for a coffee date as a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Dunks or Starbucks. Coffee is good. Vibe isn't great. Most employees are on their phones and won't get off their phones into you are literally standing at register. Little to know eye contact. Not much speaking directly to you. I have gone in 5-10 minutes before closing & they said they couldn't make anything bc they washed all their gear. Then change your hours. If you're until a certain time then coffee should be available unto then. The product is good but in no way are they training their employees in hospitality or customer service. I'd give it 5 stars if the employees were more engaging and actually looked like they wanted to be there. read more

Love the atmosphere. Always wanted to come check this place out and I'm glad I did! Their coffee is delicious I had a medium hazelnut butterscotch organic Guatemala light roast with oat milk and honey, and while the coffee could've been a tad hotter, it was near perfect temperature and went down very smooth. I love the fact that they offer organic blends and they serve them by default when ordering just a regular coffee at such a reasonable price! The fact that they roast the beans here themselves is also a huge plus! I think that definitely adds to the smooth yet robust flavor of the coffee. I didn't try any of the food here but I plan to perhaps on my next visit, along with their dark Samatra Havana blend. I love the comfy couches and I'm very relaxed in this chair as I write my review. The only other minor drawback I noticed is their carpet could use a good vacuuming/shampooing and I noticed a spider crawling by my foot that I promptly stomped on. But regardless, the overall ambiance is fantastic in here. Smells much better than any Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks I've ever been in, and the lighting, colors, and music is all just wonderful. The staff that took care of me was also very friendly, although I think they could use a nice brown or coffee colored uniform, since he appeared to be dressed in his casual clothing. Looking for a coffee stop while we were running errands and Google Maps helped us find this coffee shop. We occasionally shop in this plaza but never recalled seeing this. When we asked the barista, he said they opened about 3 months ago. My friend overheard the lady ordering a coffee in front of us and decided to try what she ordered: raspberry chocolate americano with almond milk. Me, a chai latte with almond milk and we shared two sweet treats: a chocolate chunk cookie and a raspberry bar. We asked the barista if he could heat the sweet treats and he happily said "yes". We took a seat on a very comfortable leather couch. Some comfortable leather chairs in addition to tables are available. The space is huge for a coffee shop. The chai latte was very good, not very spicy. My friend LOVED her drink. The raspberry bar was good, not too sweet. I thought chocolate chunk cookie was great but my friend said she thought it was too sweet. Her preference is dark vs. milk chocolate. Total cost: $12. Very clean restaurant and bathroom, organized and friendly staff. Would love to see a bigger selection of sweets ... some gluten free treats would be a bonus. My only suggestion as a business owner: sweep the leaves and trash that collects at the front door (they are in a corner which happens to be in a wind tunnel). Such a cute little coffee shop tucked in the corner of Rockingham Plaza. I often forget its even there which is a total shame. I've never had any of the food here but I have tried the cappuccino and chai which are very good. The interior has a bit of an industrial flair which is pretty cool. They have these really cool old rail carts as tables which I totally love. They also always (all the time I've been here at least) have local artist artwork for sale on the walls! I usually take my coffee to go (so I can go shopping, yes!) but this seems like a really cool spot to relax or get some work done. read more

Another coffee snob here. Salem NH is not a great place for food. Until the Coffee Factory, it was definitely not a great place for coffee, either. That said, the latte and cappuccino at this place are generally very good -- strong espresso. It's only not perfect because the amount of foam you get on your lattes might as well be exactly the same as a cappuccino. It's still delicious, but it is not correct. When you order a latte, you are asking for microfoam, not bathtub style foam. This might just be a training issue. On the espresso itself: it IS very strong, which is amazing considering we're in Salem NH. I don't trust coffee shops --- when I have to go to Stabucks, I automatically order the red eye because I know the espresso is generally so weak that it will only taste like coffee if I have three shots in there. I did the same the first time I visited the Coffee Factory, and the barista tried to talk me out of it by offering me a large latte instead of a red eye, but I declined this offer. Let me tell you, I did not need that red eye. The espresso they brew here is a punch in the face. It's great. Now if only they could get the pour right... read more

This place has a great atmosphere, art for sale from local artists on the wall, a Columbian Villa theme going on, TV comfy couches and tables, free wifi, a checker board table which is also great. The food is okay. The coffee is very good. The only problem I have is that the people that work there are A-holes. Every time. I mean, even the friggin owners are a-holes. Like I'm sorry, you're Columbian and I'm assuming this is kind of your dream to have this place. Act like you friggin like it at your own business, or close. Her husband seems miserable, although I've talked to him about other things not related to the business, cars etc...whatever and he was completely awesome to talk to.
