I've passed this place many times, and finally stopped in. I'm extremely glad I did! The barista made my Americano perfectly. Their coffee beans were absolutely delicious. I appreciated the many tables (which all had lovely designs on top), sofa, piano, as well as the kids area complete with a kids table and activities for children to do. It is a nice space. On the day we visited, it was calm and quiet inside. I imagine it would be a relaxing place to get work done. On the way out, we noticed a sign explaining their goal of helping those in need. The reason Coffee Oasis exists is to support homeless and struggling youth. It is a nonprofit with a unique and powerful business model. Nearly everyone loves coffee. So, selling coffee, light breakfast and lunch items, with a setup for people to hold meetings or have personal time to work or chill is what makes Coffee Oasis work for our community. I will always be a fan of the Coffee Oasis and all that they do for out community. If you don't know their mission is to help homeless and at-risk youth and all their profits go to that cause. This location is brand new and just opened within the last week or so so they are still working out some kinks I am sure. I tried their Ethiopian Drip coffee which they chose to be their dark roast. I think this was a mistake because Ethiopian is SO SO Fruity and Floral usually but by roasting it for so long you lose that amazing flavor Ethiopian Coffee is known for. The Drip was a bit watery as well. The space is Huge, plenty of room for large groups and they have cozy couches as well. Even have a small room for children which is nice for families. Although the space is lacking in wall decoration and it is pretty wide open there is still a hint of coziness, I generally prefer a more homey feel to my coffee chops but I found a nice table in the hallway tucked into the corner by a window over looking the bay. I will keep coming back, just hope to have a coffee that I can taste the origins in that is not so watery. read more

I started my morning in a bad way. Rushed to get on the ferry to make it to the peninsula. Stopped for a quick cup of joe and catch up on email, got my cup, sat down opened my bag, what? No tablet! I left it at home! Reach for trusty pad and pen, only to knock over my coffee before I got a sip! The two very nice ladies behind the counter came out to help clean up, although most of the coffee was soaked up by my datebook and assorted documents etc! They brought me another cup of coffee. So excited that after three long years of working through the red tape, Coffee Oasis Kingston is up and running and offering coffee to the public. Their yummy breakfast and lunch menu has something for everyone. Their prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a New York cafe. Small tables for two and four scatter throughout the room. Overstuffed chairs and couches invite a longer-than-coffee lounge and the grand piano is begging to be played. I really enjoy the food here, but the service at this location is horrible to the point I can't even order food. Today I called to place a pickup order. The person that answered the phone declined to take my order because she said she was "too busy". She said she was in the kitchen making food already and couldn't write down my order or ring it up because she was the only person there. She said there were already people waiting to give their order at the register. She said call back at 9:30 when a second person was supposed to show up and "maybe" she could take my order then. She was very rude on the call. It was super unprofessional and makes me not want to give any business to this location going forward. This is on top of last month when I tried calling in an order and the phone was busy for over 20 minutes. I wanted to just grab my food and go but I had to place my order when I got there. The girl didn't realize the phone was off the hook or even where the phone was. While she was making my food two other women walked in and ultimately left without ordering because the waitress didn't acknowledge them. read more

Love the coffee here. Great smooth taste but nice and strong. I am a bit of a coffee snob and I love their coffee and specialty drinks. Also, their breakfast bowls are delicious. The food menu is limited but good. The best thing is that the proceeds go to caring for homeless youth. read more
