I believe they truly appreciate their customers and make every effort to please them . They are attentive to menu requests and seem to enjoy sharing their good food. I admit it may be a dollar or two more expensive than some other restaurants but the quality is over the top. Fresh ingredients, made when you order, attention to seasoning, and recipes that are real winners. We had burgers, BLT, and a German sausage. All came with a nice size portion of a creamy pasta salad that was a great compliment to all of our sandwiches. The bread products they have help create a wonderful meal. Sandwich veggies were tasty and plentiful. For dessert we shared a couple slices of lemon raspberry layer cake.......oh my. The flavor and texture were amazing. As if the food wasn't enough the seating outside and in provides a relaxing atmosphere and the friendly staff rubs off on customers who are often found in conversation across tables. Parking is in the public lot nearby. Seating is limited. All drinks are served in take-away cups. I would have preferred my 'dine-in' beverage in a mug, b ut it was still ezcellent. The toast comes heavily buttered and the savory croissant for the day was topped with the fillings you'd fine in a spanakopita -- i.e. spinach and feta. I really loved the thickness of the toast slice and the degree that they toasted it: soft and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They did not hold back from including a bunch of seeds in the bread, and that added a nice texture in every bite. The jam is on the sweeter side, but I like that it's on the side so you can control exactly how much sweetness you want to add. The savory croissant had good flakiness to it, but it would have been nice if we had an option to have it toasted. Overall, very good bakery that I'd gladly visit again if I'm back on Bainbridge Island. Definitely get the toast.
