We had the best lunch here. Great sandwiches and potato chips-we ordered the turkey club (huge pieces of turkey) and the mango chicken chutney sandwich. We grabbed a couple of sodas and headed outside to eat at the picnic tables. Very clean with garbage cans available for your trash.

Super cool store and museum! A must stop when visiting Port Gamble. This place has anything and everything you might think you want or need. They even have a cafe in the way back with food and beverages for purchase. Upstairs, they have a Museum of Shells & Natural History. It's definitely worth a look while visiting the store. There are restrooms and ATM available inside. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

What a cool spot. Historic and quaint shop with friendly staff and lots of things to look at. They tout a museum upstairs but it's more a collection of shells and sealife items. Affogato from the ice cream spot In the back was delicious!

What a cute store! The Port Gamble General Store is all decked out for Christmas with 9 beautiful Christmas trees! What a cute store where you can easily find something for everyone on your list. They also have a super cute cafe, I wish we had been there at lunch time. The second floor is filled with displays of sea creatures, be sure to check it out.

Very cute general store with lots to do. Tons of unique fun items you couldn't find anywhere else. Stuff like home decor, gifts, candy, clothing, novelty items, souvenirs, etc etc. Had an aesthetic theme throughout, great for taking pictures. The grand staircase is quite a view to first walk into. I didn't get a chance to visit the museum but the site is historical as well. The coffee shop around the back has delicious food with beautiful art on the walls to compliment your food. The seating area was a fairly romantic setting and the staff were always super friendly. Overall 5 stars It's a very charming place to stop, buy a souvenir and experience a little bit of history.

This is a cool variety type store with souvenirs & tasty treats too. I reminds me of some of the old stores I used to visit in my youth during my west coast travels. It's worth a visit if you're ever in the area or driving across hood canal bridge.

I wouldn't recommend a special trip to Port Gamble, but there are a few things to spend a few hours or half a day doing. Most of the shops are overpriced yawners, but the general store is very different. It has a cafe, coffee shop, and general shopping. Don't sleep on the second floor seashell museum.

Super cute little gem! Such a fun little boutique of cute gifts, decor and trinkets. They also have a marine museum upstairs that is a must check out!

Lovely space with a nice variety of items and food. Friendly folks. They have a large sea shell collection upstairs and some cozy tables to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a cookie.

Oh boy...this is a big one! When your small town shop is big enough to house a café AND a museum, you know there's some history here! The Port Gamble general store seems to be of a community cornerstone, where locals and tourists alike stop in to pick up snacks, sundries and souvenirs. Regionally-themed apparel and accessories take up most of an entire wall of this multi-story edifice, with home décor items filling out most of the remaining interior space on the first floor. Around the corner at the back right of the room, you'll find the aforementioned café, which comes well stocked with locally baked pies and pastries, salads, sandwiches, snacks, ice cream, and a coffee/espresso bar, with attached dining space. In the upstairs balcony, you'll find a museum dedicated to sea life, both local and international, wrapping around the edges of the shop and filled to bursting with the shells and skeletons of myriad sea creatures, which is a fascinating diversion and adds a nice touch to this sleepy, seaside community shop. The stairs continue upward to a third level, which was cordoned off, likely used for administrative purposes. The staff were welcoming and friendly, approaching to greet us warmly (encouraged, I suspect, by the handsome Pomeranian strapped to my chest in a harness...but I digress!) and inform us about various upcoming events in the area, including a haunted tour of some of the historical homes along this storied strip of land. While it's a bit of a drive for us, coming from Portland, I took a picture of their calendar of events, just in case! Despite its diminutive size, Port Gamble was a highly-anticipated stop on my Puget Sound tourism to-do list. This picture-perfect Pleasantville, ostensibly little more than some gorgeous houses situated around an elbow-bend in the road, has a lot more to it than is apparent on the surface, just like the General Store in its prominent position at the heart of this tiny community. Our eventual return is no Gamble, it's a guarantee!

Good food, creative and beautifully served. A little crowded and noisy, but when the weather is nice, it's very pleasant to eat outside.

Thank local artwork, hand blown glass pieces, jewelry, home decor, and a bunch of quirky things you didn't know you needed until you see them. The store feels a bit like a small art gallery mixed with a gift shop. There are beautiful paintings on the walls, colorful glass pieces hanging from the ceiling. I went in thinking I'll just take a quick look, then suddenly I had spent twenty minutes wandering around noticing new things on every shelf. If you're visiting Bainbridge, or even a local you must definitely stop in. It's a great spot to find something unique and a good reminder of how creative the local artist community is on Bainbridge!
