First experienced this joint several years ago when I was in town for my nephew's wedding, and was happy to see this joint still around. I'm from a big city, and it's increasingly difficult to find coffee shops designed to make you want to stay a while (I.e. comfortable seating options, etc). So, it's refreshing to walk into a place like this...which feels like a coffee shop met a hunting lodge. Service was good. They take orders efficiently and crank out drinks quickly. First morning, I can't remember the name of what I had, but I believe it was a mixture butter pecan / white chocolate latte. It was good, but I asked for it half sweet and it still came out sweet enough to cross your eyes. The second morning, just black coffee. For an independent roaster, I was a tad disappointed; flavor wasn't there. My wife and I are coffee connoisseurs; we research and order from independent roasters across the country. So, we know flavor profiles and consider ourselves knowledgeable. Additional "cons": they could do better at announcing completed orders. Had I not been standing right there and asked, who knows how long our drinks would have sat there. Lastly, I was disappointed in the bagged whole bean coffee options. Other than a label with the name of the roast, there was no further information regarding flavor profiles or anything. Overall: love the atmosphere,...that alone is worth the fourth star.
