Soooo gross!!! Had breakfast there last week. Kept hearing beeping like a microwave and sure enough. The green Chile taste like it came out of a can. Biscuits were soggy. Yikes- avoid this place. It's set up in a little house and it seems like it's one lady the runs the place. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on ciabatta to go. The menu states the above ingredients- bacon, egg, cheese and ciabatta. I paid almost $10 for the sandwich and even left a tip. I drive a few miles to let it cool off and open up the box to find the sandwich is dripping with white liquid. The bottom layer of ciabatta is soggy and falling apart due to being saturated in liquid. It looked like Mayo to me which is not an ingredient that was listed on the menu. I am one of those few people who is allergic to Mayo even though I can have eggs. I called to inquire if they put Mayo on the breakfast sandwich. I was very polite and simply said I was just in and noticed white condiment is it Mayo. The lady seemed annoyed and said yes we put a little Mayo and butter on it too in a snappy demeanor and slammed the phone down hanging up on me. I didn't have the time to drive back and try to get a refund or replacement sandwich given that I got it to go because I was on my way elsewhere. I don't think she would've been very accommodating if I had made the trip. Aside from the lack of accuracy on the menu, the sandwich was ready way too fast. The eggs were watery. Bacon was the skimpy flavorless microwaved kind. The top part of the ciabatta was hard, seemingly from being microwaved, definitely not toasted. You can tell the people mean well but holy smokes one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had. All six of our party barely ate the food. Apparently it is all microwaved?? Why can't I have normal fried eggs at breakfast spot?? We actually thought the waitress was just joking when she said no, and that she couldn't "put the egg back in the shell." Coffee was horrendous. Truly don't know how this place is in business. It's like someone demoed their kitchen and is serving hospital food out of it. A heads up - the "red chili" breakfast burrito is ACTUALLY CHILI. Amazing food and wonderful people and exactly what I needed for my first restaurant experience since Covid started. Everyone is wearing masks and their tables are set up in a way that encourages social distancing. Luckily there was only one person on the patio at any time while I was here but it looks like they have good pick-up/delivery business. I'm glad to see that everyone is observing good practices. The burrito was delicious and I understand why they are on the "Epic 3 Day Restaurant Road Trip" guide for Colorado. Veggie scramble was flavorless and swimming in grease. Chef special was anemic looking scrambled eggs placed on top of soggy hashbrowns. Coffee was barely warm and weak. The bear paw biscuits needed another 5 minutes in the oven because the center tasted like raw dough. Again, too much butter ladled on the buscuits. I had to go inside and ask for salt and pepper. The two ladies waiting on us were pleasant and sweet but overall my breakfast was a big disappointment. We discovered this delightful house quite by accident, but what a wonderful accident it was! We're not big eaters so we shared the Fruit and Nut Salad and the Italian Roast Beef Au Jus. There was just enough for the two of us. The salad was amazing, the Cheesy Potatoes were super, and the Beef was so tender, we didn't need a knife. Eating at the Light House in Montrose was like stepping back in time. Not in the sense of traveling back to a better era, but rather like actually having time crawl slowly backwards. We arrived at 9am and received some help around 9:24. Then we waited patiently for the arrival of our single (not very enthralling) burrito, sinking slowly into a molasses-like torpor. What felt like 3 or 4 more hours passed before we finally paid the check. Ironically, "Hotel California" was playing quietly in the background as we made our getaway. We should have taken warning from all the trendy buzzwords on their sign outside that don't apply at all and the cutsie decor on the interior walls. The ladies running this place are trying hard to make a nice experience, but there are just so many problems. For starters, they label themselves a coffee "shoppe", yet when I ordered a normal cup of brewed coffee, it took more than 10 minutes and they were not busy at all. On top of that, the coffee I received was just not very good and had been flavored with something weird, like some kind of artificial vanilla and it was sweet - all I wanted was a cup of coffee. Also their pricing schemes don't seem to make any sense (see menu photos). Apparently they don't have a real kitchen (no range or hood) and just use hot plates and a microwave. It's weird that they won't serve eggs in any other form besides scrambled, claiming health concerns as the reason. Having said all that, I got the burrito with green chili and it was pretty good, but there were just so many other issues with this place that I can't really recommend it. read more

I'm a big fan of breakfast burritos and I was looking for a place in town for one since my usual place was closed. Decided to try this place since on their yelp page it says they have burritos with award winning green chili sauce. They didn't have a ton on their menu so I stuck with what I thought was an easy bet. I'm not entirely sure if they were having an off day or what but this was one on the most tasteless breakfast burritos I've ever had and the green chili sauce tasted like canned green chili, canned stewed tomatoes and vinegar. What a great little spot in Montrose. We flew in and were on our way up to Telluride Saturday morning 8/10/19 and needed breakfast/lunch before getting on the road. My son found this place on Yelp so we tried it. Glad we did. They were at the end of their breakfast rush and were working hard to clean off tables so we could pick a seat. I heard the staff talking about an off-menu breakfast sandwich so I got that and they were nice enough to go ahead and offer lunch to my son who wanted the open face Italian sandwich. He had sausage left over so the owner came out and made him a nice to go option. She even brought him some tortillas so he could make a little burrito out of the left overs. Great customer service!!! Our family of five stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. We saw this place across the street though and decided to give it a try. We ordered a variety of things including their little cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, and egg scramble bowls. Nothing was very good, except for the cinnamon rolls which were just OK. Everyone in the family agreed the food was mediocre at best. The people were friendly and the service was fine. The food just wasn't any good. The breakfast sandwich bread was soggy and the sauce on the sandwich was WAY over-salted. I couldn't finish mine. The egg bowl eaters said the eggs didn't taste fresh and the hash browns were just frozen ones right out of the box and microwaved. Would not recommend. read more

The decor was nice, and if they had more help it would be outstanding, and the heavy whipping cream in the coffee was a unique twist on coffee creamer. I liked my smothered burrito, but my son didn't touch his biscuits in gravy (perhaps not the restaurant's fault!) and my moms' egg scramble came out cold and we asked to reheat it. PLEASE listen to some of the other 1-2 star reviews, they all say the same thing, and my experience was no different. I have no idea why their green chili burrito gets talked up so much. It had barely cooked bagged shredded potatoes, powdered eggs, the salsa and green chili on top was extremely bland, and the tortilla was soggy as soon as we got it. Oh, and we found random pieces of chicken in the burrito. We ordered a side of bacon to go on top, since they don't include any meat in the burrito, and got two strips of microwave bacon for $2.75 extra. Coffee was just flavored junk. The lady was very nice, only reason they get two stars. Please go somewhere else. read more
