Its tucked away on a residential street but still walking distance to downtown which is what drew us to this B&B. The decor is very traditional with a fun fox hunting theme (we tried to count all the fox hunting related decor but lost track). The four of us were the only ones staying in the B&B that night and my in-laws had a room in the basement with its own separate entrance and a Queen size bed/en suite bathroom. Our bedroom was actually a part of a suite with a sitting room, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms (1 with two twin beds, the other with a full size bed). The suite would be a good option for a family of four. Overall rooms were comfy. Breakfast the next morning was super delicious with coffee, juice, fruit, local bacon and French toast. The innkeepers Mark and Sherry were very kind, lively, chatty and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed learning about the history of the B&B and Sherry was even nice enough to show us to show us their cozy kitchen area which is usually closed off to guests. We had a pleasant time at the Montclair B&B and would recommend it to anyone staying in Staunton.

Pat and Monica were excellent hosts. Every room was well decorated, well maintained, and clean. The common areas are beautiful and, once again, well maintained. Every morning the Keurig coffee maker was filled with water and ready, with cups, along with bottled water. Pat or Monica would check in periodically and were very responsive the few times we needed them. Finally, the Holladay House is located in downtown Orange. There are excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you are staying in Orange, or close by, we highly recommend staying at the Holladay House.

The house has been redone and the decor inside is new and contemporary but still fits with the period of the older home. Rooms are beautiful, clean and well-kept and there was a Roku on the tv with wifi. The back door has a keypad lock so you can come and go as you please with ease and there was a welcome package with snacks, jam, and a handwritten welcome note. Location is great because, with ample parking in the back of the home, you can walk around the town to antique, explore and eat at one of a dozen or more restaurants. They don't do the traditional breakfast but had a small bar well-stocked with coffee, tea, bananas, fresh pastries, and juice and water. Enough for me! Usually I kind'a wanna go out and explore on my own anyway and the town has several nice places for brunch (Spoon and Spindle was my fav). Pat was great and communicative through email/text but wasn't hovering in the way some B&B owners are. There to greet me but then left me alone to enjoy the stay but was available for questions if I had any.... perfect! Would absolutely come back any time.

Details like coffee and tea anytime, filling and fancy breakfasts with choice ingredients, all homemade, and an abundance of flora and fauna to enjoy made it a bespoke, boutique experience. As we sat listening to the early morning birds from our balcony, identifying all the trees we could spot, my husband said, "Worth every penny!" Agreed.

I think they're gradually changing everything over from the previous owner? The drive in is very windy- just when you think you've gone too far, you see another sign saying "this way!". Either way the tasting room is lovely and VERY DOG FRIENDLY, even inside which I love! Their wines were GOOD and the people running the counter (I think the gentleman was one of the owners and the young lady working beside him was a very friendly employee!) were so knowledgeable and fun to talk to! The grounds are just stunning. We loved playing with Buck the winery dog (and he and my own dog ran around having a blast!). The grandkids playing on the hill were fun to watch- it was just a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves and their wine! The event space looks stunning but we weren't able to get more than just a peek through the windows. Apparently the cabin on the top of the hill is one you can rent! I wish we lived closer- but I know we'll be back next time we're in the area!

It's clean and attractive, the toilets, sinks and air dryers all function properly and supplies are well stocked. There are a couple of vending machines as well as picnic areas and grills. There is room for your pets as well, please remember to clean up after them. The grounds appear properly maintained and the facility is open 24/7 every day. One thing to keep in mind is that currently if you have T-Mobile as your cellular service provider you will not have service at this rest area and (like most VDOT rest areas) there are no public phones or Wi-fi available. Public Wi-fi is available at rest areas in many other states so this seems like an issue that Virginia should address.

This rest area is located a little west of Charlottesville near Mike marker 113. Its easy to get…read morein and out of. You can tell that this location is a bit more dated than other rest areas I've been to here in Virginia. When you come up from the car side of the rest area, the men's restrooms are to the right and the women's restooms are to the left. The restrooms are fairly small, so don't be surprised if you have to wait to use the facilities at peak times. There is a vending area to the left of the main building. Although dated, this is still a nice spot to take a quick break from being on the road.
