While on a cross country road trip, we called and got an appointment very last minute (30 minutes before, to be exact) for my 9 year old son to get a haircut. It's been a constant struggle to find a happy compromise with him, as he wants to grow his hair out. He is very active, so he needs his hair pulled up (in a "man bun", as he likes to say). But, I have a 5 month old- so I can't always be available to put it up for him. Admittedly, he looks like a maniac with it down. We walked in to the salon, and I was impressed with the cleanliness. It feels a little cramped because of the low ceilings, but just through an open doorway there is a larger area where they have the stylists stations with some seating. The decor isn't my style, but very typical of a salon. On to the reason this salon won my 5 stars (and more, if they were available to give).... Tanisha- I can't really speak for her ability as a stylist, because we only got a trim. But, what I can speak for is her patience and kindness. My son had agreed to "cut" his hair.... but got cold feet and decided he didn't want to cut it too short for a man bun, while he was in her chair. Not only was Tanisha patient while he and I conversed about whether to cut it shorter or not, but she also recognized that he was reluctant because he loves his bun. Instead of growing frustrated with us, she politely asked if he wanted some lessons on how to pull his hair up on his own!!!! So, for a solid 20 minutes, she knelt on the floor beside her stylist chair and gave him step-by-step instructions and pointers to perfect his ponytail skills so that he can keep his own locks in check- and I can keep my sanity. It isn't everyday you find such compassion and kindness from a stranger- especially when you are only receiving a $10 service from them! We will definitely be coming in to see her whenever we come back through town!!!! Thanks for everything, Tanisha! read more

I would stay away from here. My family and I were in town for a wedding and two of us made appointments at 2pm for hair, and I also had a makeup appointment. At 1100 that day I had to call the salon to confirm, because they had not yet called me. The stylist who answered confirmed that we were good to go. We get there at 2 pm, and Ashley tells us that someone had to go home sick, so instead of getting our hair done at the same time, like we had scheduled, Ashley would be doing all three services. Ashley is very sweet, but it is completely unacceptable to combine appointments like this--- we were on a strict time limit and we made it clear that everything needed to be done by 4 pm. Also, Ashley said she had tried to call me to ask me to come earlier, but someone had written down the wrong contact info for me, which is really annoying! By 4 pm, only our hair had been done. This is entirely too long for two updos (normally 35-45 minutes at MOST per person). I made it clear by three thirty that I did not have time to get my makeup done, because I needed to leave on time. Nonetheless, they called another makeup artist to come back to the salon (I think she had already left for the day?) to do my makeup, despite my insistence that they not. As my hair was getting finishing touches, the owner or manager (I think), who was the one who called out sick, came back to the salon. I explained what had happened the past two hours and that that I was no longer getting my makeup done. I said I would pay and then leave. Before paying, I used the rest room, and the manager FOLLOWED ME IN THERE to try to convince me to get my makeup done. She said that Kodi could finish it in 15 minutes and would have me looking great, and that they would comp it since our experience so far had been awful. I said I would sit for 15 minutes, but I would pay for my makeup. I explained that I wanted my makeup very natural--- the only embellishment I wanted was fake lashes. Fast forward two minutes and I have painted on eyebrows that are INSANE. I wish I had taken a picture. I repeated myself that I wanted natural makeup, and the manager said that perhaps we had a different idea of what "natural" was--- I would say so! I asked that the makeup be wiped off-- so then I was behind schedule and still had to get home and do my own makeup. This was such a waste of a day! Yikes! read more

My extensions speak for themselves. I paid for my hair the day I set my appointment, my appointment rolls around (almost two weeks) and my hair wasn't in because she waited until the weekend before to order it (2 days before the appointment). I had to reschedule and after some back and forth she got me in the next day (yesterday, Wednesday). She asked me if I wanted it curled, I said no, she ended up curling it anyway and today I can see why. Not blended at all and I can't even tuck my hair behind my ears or pull my hair back. $350 and this is what my hair looks like. I sent photos to another stylist in the area who specializes in tape ins and her response was "ohhhh my". I gave Tammie an opportunity to fix things by reaching out with these concerns and her response was "use your imagination until you learn to work them." Beyond livid and now I have to sink more money into my hair to correct her work! read more
