The…read moretheater is old, but the Ritz Players Theater group is one of the best I have seen in community theater, and in today's economy you cannot beat the price for wonderful entertainment.. I guess the person who wrote the last review is used to broadway and fancy theaters, rather than good talent and entertainment. Instead of complaining about the theater maybe a substantial donation to help this wonderful group of people should be made.

Now, we only had a 1.5 hours so most of the time I spent was in the musuem, but the grounds are immaculate, and you can see a variety of the sites from the Woodstock festival, including the actual historical site. You can't bring your own, so bring a picnic blanket. Getting in and out is a nightmare. I also suggest if you have lawn tickets to get there early and not sit on the top of the hill. Was actually really enjoying the experience until the concert started. Maybe the pavilion is better, but you have to endure a lot of background noise from venders (there was a loud kettle corn stand right near me) and other guests treating a concert like a picnic in the park where they can speak freely. I had to listen to people's side conversation while I was trying to listen to Paul Simon play. I typically wouldn't blame the venue for inconsiderate guests, but the speakers and sound quality were so soft it was impossible to tune them out. I left early to beat what would have been a nightmare leaving and I wasn't going to be able to hear the music well anyway. The Paul Simon tour was called "A Quiet Celebration" it probably was not the right venue for this kind of show. You could say maybe I should have been earlier and gotten closer or payed more for the pavilion, but the people on the top of the hill deserve a concert experience as well.

Note that the restroom facilities are sparse; only one for each gender and they are small. I will not sit in the balcony there again. I don't know if it was just my row, but every time the person next to me moved (including swaying with the music) the entire row shifted. Perhaps the seats are not properly connected to the floor? The seat itself was at an odd angle, it didn't move all the way down to a flat position. The audio there is good. There was very little 'boominess' like one finds in bigger venues. The band appeared comfortable and relaxed. And that's always a plus for a better performance. Renaissance are always spectacular! I shall miss them dearly.

11/21/25: Never knew this little gem of a theater existed…read more In fact, it's been here since 1928. It's located on 32 Skyline Dr. Montville, NJ. Came to see a friend's daughter starring in the production of "Fun Home" which runs until 11/30. The show is very deep, but excellent! Anywhere you sit, you have excellent viewing of the stage. The acoustics are excellent. All the theater attendants provided excellent customer service. Plenty of parking is available.

It is a little confusing where you're supposed to enter, but it's in the back of a church and the entrance is in the back. When I first arrived-- about 10 mins early-- the door was locked. I waited awhile and some other people showed up and started going in. I appreciated as a first-time participant that I was just invited to join right in, that there wasn't a huge fuss made over me or my safety. I was strapped into the bungee and invited to try it out to get the hang of it. The class was fun and challenging, but doable. It was a great workout and I really enjoyed it. But while I didn't want to be the center of attention as a newcomer, I would have liked some more guidance along the way. Instead, it was very clear that the other class attendees knew each other, and the instructor, very well. It felt a little exclusive and hard to join. The instructor didn't speak to me from the time I got into the harness until the class was over. I felt like I was intruding on a close community. That's the only reason my review is four, not five stars. If it had felt more welcoming, I'd be eager to go back, but as is, the drive is too long to go back for such a cold environment. Still, I do wish there was something like this much closer to me!

I saw my first play there over twenty years ago - it was Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge, the sequel to the popular musical. I've since attended many more productions, both musical and dramatic, at the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre. The quality of the plays will vary from show to show depending on a number of factors, but the passion of those performing onstage and working behind-the-scenes is always consistent. Most of the artists mounting these productions are volunteers or working for very little money - every show is truly a labor of love. Every citizen should support their local community theater and attend at least one show per season.
