I just went nuts with photos, and I was so happy that we have the house all to ourselves, so I can roam around, just taking photos, inside and outside the garden. What is there to write about a negative? OK, maybe two, but only because I'm short. The bed was high. (Mine too, at home. But I have a step stool to climb in/out, that helps me). The tub, hubby has to hold my hand, so I won't slip coming out of the tub. Everything else was GREAT & DANDY! The food. The service. The views to the garden and the park. The gazebo. The Rose Garden, the Clematis, the scented Jasmine. It's a HISTORIC mansion! It's my temporary HEAVEN as I am here! Then, I wake up, and we're back home, back to reality, kinda thing!

The bear claw soaking tub along with the lounge couch and starry ceilings were my favorite part! Eli and Emily were awesome. You could tell they loved what they do for a living and the breakfast Emily cooked for us was exquisite. I felt like we were eating food from a fancy hotel restaurant and couldn't have asked for a better way to finish off our B&B experience. We especially appreciated heated bathroom floors, double showerheads and the lavender bath salts for a bath . The pastoral sunset views from the room calms the soul. The breakfasts are a special event that we looked forward to. They make it fresh and hot every morning at 9am. Inkeeper Sherwood loves to explain every item he made for you. They make delicious juice and coffee. There is always snacks and tea in the house. There is also wine hour daily. They were sweet to reserve our parking by an electric charger since we have an electric car. We highly recommend staying here! One of the best B&B's we've stayed at!

The innkeeper was quite intense and frequently interrupted us throughout our stay, repeatedly referring to us as "kids," which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. During breakfast, the interruptions were so frequent that it was difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. We had specifically booked our room for the hot tub, but it wasn't hot during our stay. When we mentioned it, the response was that there had been kids in it the night before and maybe something had gone wrong. No solution, alternative, or adjustment was offered. While the property itself is beautiful, the overall experience was not relaxing, which is what we had hoped for in a bed-and-breakfast.

We were scoping out the area to buy our first home and visit my husband's best friend. I decided to treat us to a bed and breakfast. After looking for a couple hours online, I found the Century House. Jean was/is so sweet and kind, I am so happy to have gotten the opportunity to support the business. Jean was able to recommend a realtor to us. She is very knowledgeable about the Salem area and makes the best food. We got FRESH bing cherries and other fruits. As a resident of Hawaii, I so miss having fresh fruit. Our room was beautiful, ample space for 3 people. It felt like home. It was great. The breakfast was to die for. First morning was a parfait, sausages, and blueberry pancakes. Wow. Wow. Wow. To which I totally forgot to tell her that I don't eat red meat/pork. So the next morning she made salmon omelettes with cream cheese and a fruit crisp. I mentioned that a diner in Monmouth had the best crisps but they were out so we weren't able to get it. So she took it and decided to make one (totally warmed my heart). Both breakfasts were amazing. She sat with us both mornings and chatted, she's such a lovely person. When we move next June. At low tide you can walk on the mud flats. In the morning when the tide comes in, there are shorebirds, ducks, and herons. Hosts, Gary & Judy, were welcoming and had great stories to share. Our Favorite Place on Earth…read more Whales Rendezvous is undoubtedly our favorite place on earth! We recently spent 3 weeks at this lovely 'slice of heaven by the sea', for our 25th anniversary. There are simply no words to describe the feeling of peace and calm that overwhelm you while staying here. It is truly a magical place, and there's no place we'd rather be. Ever since returning home, our hearts and souls have longed to return to this amazing place. With spectacular views of the ocean, whales spouting, diving, spy hopping, and breaching mere feet from the rocks below, and gorgeous sunsets that will fill you with such a sense of wonderment...it's simply magnificent!
