There is black mold in the apartment. I guess this shouldn't besurprising since the dishwasher was moldy when her and her roommate moved in. Literal mold IN the dishwasher at that time Walls are paper thin so you hear EVERYTHING. Finals time? No worries! Please scream all night. Her smoke detector has been faulty for months. I've heard it myself. They no longer accept maintenance for it because it's not a 24/7 issue. I will see what the fire department thinks about faulty alarms. I'm sure they would be pleased. What management tells one student is different from another. For example, my daughter was told she couldn't drop parking because there was no wait list. Come to find out her friend was on the wait list Oh and previous tenants apparently aren't forced to give their key and fob back so who knows who has access to the building This place is an absolute joke since I posted this in apartments.com and emailed the property management company, eenhorn its gotten worse. Maintenance came to fix a flickering light. Light still flickered because "there's no issue" found by maintenance. Well she has videos of this. minor issue but why are we lying about the fix? The best part.... Maintenance left her door unlocked. Amazing. I wanted hundreds of people to have access to her things. The manager, in response to door being left open was "I don't know how that happened". Um I do. He didn't lock the door?! How about an apology? Some form of recognition that this isn't a good situation?! Good heavens if I gave such little crap as these people I sure wouldn't have a job. Thanks for scamming students. Keep up the good work Oh and we're also paying more for base rent than outlined the lease. It's hard to argue with a cement wall here which is what talking to them is like. So if you like feeling insane and disrespected you should absolutely rent here. If you or your student wants a decent place to live I probably wouldn't stop here....

We've lived at the Edge on North Apartments for about 10 months and I have to say the service has improved exponentially. They've hired a Director of Residential Properties who is extremely results oriented and strives to ensure that their residents are being taken care of and happy with their living situations. He doesn't sit behind the desk all day; visits their properties on a regular basis and is quick to address resident's needs. Since he was hired all of our issues were addressed and resolved immediately. It was tough going for the first few months but once everything was fixed it turned in to being a great place to live. It's on the corner of North and Oakland so it's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shopping, Bradford Beach, Prospect Medical Commons as well as Columbia St. Mary's Hospital. We had a rough start but I'm happy to report they're on the right track and I'd recommend the property to prospective residents. If you enjoy living an active East Side neighborhood the Edge on North is for you!

This was absolutely the best apartment we have ever lived in. The management was very nice and attentive, I loved the rooftop deck with patio furniture and grills, and I miss the time my husband and I spent by the fireplace in the clubhouse with the complimentary coffee and tea. They also have a gym, which is small, but wasn't heavily used so I rarely had to wait for a machine I wanted. They had fun resident parties, as well. The location is amazing in downtown Milwaukee. You only have to walk half a block to get into the skywalk system. If you want to take transit, almost all of the bus lines stop along Wisconsin Ave. within a block or two. I worked in Mequon and took the Ozaukee County express to work. My husband was a graduate student at UWM and took the express bus to school. Also, the underground parking was an incredible asset to us, because we started our family here and could go from underground parking to underground parking in the winter without having to bundle our baby. Our apartment had an amazing view of downtown and the lake! The high ceilings made the space feel very spacious and open. We never heard our neighbors, but we were on the 9th (top) floor. You may want to pay attention to where your unit is, because some people complained about construction noise from the parking garage across 4th st. However, it is probably over by now because that was over a year ago. The appliances were basic, but we mostly ate out anyway. I think you can get units with upgraded appliances if you want it.

My parents, their friends, and business clients, all from out of town, are familiar with The Shorecrest and were excited to talk about the building any time we mentioned where we lived. The 1920's art deco style is alive and pulsing through the vanes of every room and hallway, adding a unique flavor of time tested culture and class to the lifestyle of its residents. Prospect Ave on Milwaukee's East Side is quite possibly the best location for an apartment. With its downtown feel, bars of every style, and a variety of restaurants offering just about every type of cuisine imaginable are all within a short walk out the front door. The Shorecrest's location, while right downtown, puts Milwaukee's lakefront parks right in your backyard, offering plenty of open, green space to jog, walk, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors while living in an urban area. We very much enjoyed strolling down Lafayette hill on weekend mornings for a cup of coffee from Collectivo while taking in the view and awe of Lake Michigan and the boats at McKinley Marina. With tennis courts just below the hill, Jazz in the Park a short walk down Prospect, and the fests of Brady Street blocks away, the location of The Shorecrest is an amenity that cant be overlooked. The rent is very reasonable for an East Side, lakefront apartment, and in the three plus years I lived there, they never tried to hike the rent between lease terms as is common with other properties. We had a top floor, lakefront view apartment that was considerably less than other neighboring buildings. Management was not only friendly and personal, but resided within the building as well, enabling them to serve and support their residents with the perspective of a fellow community member. They responded to any issues or concerns we had promptly. Due to their on-site presence, many issues were identified and were actively being rectified without having to notify management ourselves. I couldn't conclude this review, though, without mentioning the neighbors we had while living at The Shorecrest. Of the many apartments and cities in which I have lived (take my word for it, its a lot), I have never had neighbors as welcoming and friendly as we had at The Shorecrest, many of which I still consider good friends to this day. The community feel in this apartment immediately made us feel like we were home, with people getting together for dinner on the front patio, or readily inviting us over for drinks, the family we made while living there added a a rare and valuable aspect to our lifestyle that can't be had with building upgrades or material amenities.

She doesn't care if they are elderly or disabled, the dumpster gates are locked so you can't throw your trash away on the weekends or at night, there's mold in the ceilings and walls, bed bugs and roaches, if you set off a fire alarm she charges 50.00. They enter tenants apartments, listen outside their doors and I found a hidden camera outside my old apartment watching me. I was forced to move for finding it. The place is full of crazy people, police are there every other day. There's a male security guard there thats been there for years and years who does whatever he wants including soliciting money, gifts and tips from tenants, sitting in there apartment watching sporting events. Susan made another gaurd following me around I couldn't even sit outside, They have no compation for the elderly or disabled, you can hear them in their office making nasty remarks about the tenants using the words useless, idiots etc about the tenants and maintenance workers. There office is always closed. You can only call, unless Susan wants to yell at you then they call you in the office, most of the tenants are scared of her. This is not a place you want an elderly or disabled person living if you want them to live peacefully, Susan finds reasons to yell and disrespect tenants I don't know how she's been there for so long other than tenants just being to scared to speak up. Well not me. This lady has no business dealing with the public and I can't believe Ogden allows this to continue for so long..she yells at her workers her guards and her tenants. If you decide to live here good luck..this will never feel like home..unless you like to feel like your living in a prison or consintration camp. Beware. Susan I the building manager, she is rude and talks to grown people like children and has her own set of rules that aren't by hud, you can even have a towel hanger on your bathroom door, the second building have roaches, both building have bed bugs constantly, the maintenance guy Dominic is a racist..I can go on and on....

One thing to be mindful of. You are in the heart of Milwaukee's urban downtown. Street noise is a thing if you have windows overlooking Wisconsin or Plankinton (obviously). Luxury pricing, but not living…read more I rented a large two-bedroom apartment. I was lured into moving into these apartments because they look nice, and have a good central location. However, it was a disaster from the first week on. In spite of this place being seemingly nice, it is the WORST place that I have ever lived, and that includes apartments I rented during graduate school. Mosaic on Oakland is not managed as a luxury apartment should be. There might as well be no management. Noise: For one year I documented ongoing noise from the unit above me with no resolution. This was not walking noise (which is often audible due to the poor construction), but stomping, playing ball, running, etc. They do not enforce the lease or their rules consistently. The noise occurred at all hours and was not standard apartment noise. Garage: The garage stinks, and the garbage room of a restaurant was often left open. After I sent them photos, they said they are working with the restaurant, nothing changed. There was open garbage where we paid a fortune to park our cars. Are rodents are next? Different Rules: My final move out date was hell. The janitor yelled at me and told me "time out" (great way to treat luxury apartment residents) because he said 'shady people' will come in if we open a door. It took a male (my fiancé) to quiet him down and to get him to stop going off on me. Others residents were allowed to open a door when moving out, but I was not. My fiancé had to physically stand at the door for the entire move. One of the moving crew felt uncomfortable because he was being racially profiled as 'letting these shady people in.' The movers told me they hope to never have to deal with Mosaic on Oakland again. Closing: They only refunded me half my security deposit. The apartment was clean (I have photos), but at this point half of my security deposit is a minor waste compared to a year of torture in this overpriced and poorly constructed place.
