Absolutely disappointing! First of all, I should've known better than to get a Roti from a Jamaican…read morerestaurant in PITTSBURGH ! Roti's are primarily a Trinidadian / Guyanese dish which and is derived from their East Indian roots. However, being born and raised in NYC, the Jamaican restaurants knew how to properly make Roti, despite it not being their original dish. This was by far one of most egregious and disrespectful attempts at making a "Roti" I've ever seen. This place used store bought, soft taco shells, sprayed with cooking oil, and warmed up in a microwave. Roti flatbread cannot be substituted for any other kind flatbread albeit, Naan, Pita, or Flour Tortilla. It changes the flavor of the dish and renders it a completely different dish. Not only was the preparation of the "Roti" absurd, but the customer service was trash. I requested a copy of my receipt and the lady who prepared my food told me she would text it to me. Not only did she ask me to repeat my number numerous times, but she had 1 earbud in while she was taking my number. Therefore, she was not paying attention. After I inspected my food and decided to leave the restaurant, knowing that there was no use in trying to get my "Roti" order fixed, I realized I still didn't get my receipt. I returned to the front counter and informed her that I didn't get my receipt and she insisted that I repeat my phone number again, slowly. I complied, and as I sit here writing this review, I still do not have my receipt. I will say, all in all, aside from the ludicrous attempt at making roti by using store bought flour tortillas, the curried goat was actually good.

Ocasionally the fried chicken will be a smidge raw in the middle which I experienced once. The dessert of the day doesn't seem to change. The quality of the mac and cheese is inconsistent. Some days it tastes phenomenal, like the best mac and cheese you can commercially buy and others it tastes like it was made last month. Despite this I will be giving this location 3 stars simply for the price of the food and the quality on a good day you can get. The fried chicken is crisp and well seasonsed. The two flavors they have, buffalo and lemon pepper are both fantastic and I urge people going here to try them both. The oxtail is a unique experience but not somethign I would wake up and immedately try to eat. The sweet tea and grape drinks are sweet enough to hurt your teeth, so they're perfect. If you're looking for affordable fried chicken wings in the area I highly suggest checking this place out. The bread pudding dessert was fine, but nothing earth shatteringly awesome. It woudln't be what I came back here for. The grits are food coma inducing but the lamb feels unnecessary, the shrimp was much better. Suspiciously every time I've been here its dead empty so service isn't bad, just odd cause you're like the only person sitting there.

I'll add screenshots if required as well as the civil suit that we won (names blacked out of course). READ UNTIL THE END. We hired Anthony and his catering service for our wedding last year. At the tasting, the service, people, and food were great. My wife and I were in agreement immediately. They were quick to respond and reassuring leading up to the wedding date. However, the day of the wedding they were supposed to arrive at 2pm with 150 people's worth of food. They, unfortunately didn't arrive until around 6pm, where they brought about 80 people's worth of food and less than that of drinks. The lemonade was watered down and the coffeemaker they brought was broken. The food was dried out and cold when it was being served. My wife called them DIRECTLY AFTER OUR CEREMONY (yes, the woman that was just married. No one tried reaching out to us) to see what happened. The woman on the phone gave two different excuses on two different occasions: 1) they got lost 2) they had to run back to Charleston. The staff at the wedding were nice enough and the lead caterer there was very apologetic, stating that they would get in touch with us to get us squared away. That never happened. My wife and her stepmother reached out to the company multiple times and got the runaround. They then stopped responding completely. I have reached out to Anthony Wilkins directly but he blocked me. I don't recommend this place not because of the food but because of the unprofessional owner. If he would have owned up to his and his company's mistakes, it would have lessened the stress and hardship on my wife, guests, and memory of an otherwise beautiful day. If you do go through this place, get EVERYTHING in writing and copies.

I tried several items, including the brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and the beef patties. The brown stew chicken was delicious. I got it in the large size and it was indeed quite large. The chicken is seasoned well but not too spicy. It's tender, and although I tend not to like dark meat, I really enjoyed it from this place. They served it with potatoes, which were nicely cooked, and carrots, which went really well with the sauce. You get 2 sides with your meal so I choose the rice with peas and the cabbage. The cabbage was very flavorful and just tasted homey. Several other vegetables mixed in too. They gave me a ton of rice and peas, which is great because I thought it was delicious. Soft rice, especially with the chicken, just mixed perfectly. Delicious, delicious, delicious. The beef patties were also very tasty. The inside is in a way almost creamy. It's filled with juicy meat, and the outside stayed nice and crisp. Very nice. All in all, definitely a great place. One of the better Caribbean spots in Pittsburgh for sure. I'd order delivery from them again (I think they are delivery only).

Fast forward a year or so and much to my joy they announced via social media that they had stopped cooking out of their home and started a food truck! One day I saw that they would be on Larimer Avenue in the Larimer section of the city so I made my way there expeditiously as T.I. would say. LOL! I already knew that I was going to go with their Curry shrimp with cabbage and rice & peas! I also got a Tropical Rhythms Island Mango drink to wash it all down. A few minutes later I had my food and made my way home. You guessed it, expeditiously! LOL! As soon as I started to dig in I was taken back as I hadn't had Jamaican food this good since Mama Rose on nearby Mayflower Street in the late 90's! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and full of flavor! The cabbage was tender and the rice and peas were delicious as well! My food was so good that I told my wife about it and ended up going back the same day to get us their Jerk chicken for dinner. Unfortunately it was near the end of the night and they had ran out of cabbage, but gave us extra chicken which more than made up for not having anymore cabbage. The jerk chicken was absolutely incredible! Very authentic and just as delicious! Be sure to follow them on Instagram @caribbeanvybzllc to see where they will be next! I still can't believe that authentic Jamaican food like this can come out of a food truck!

I'm happy I got the dessert because that was the only thing that tasted good. The Mac and cheese was decent but very plain, I had to season it when I got home. The cabbage was ok. The jerk chicken was nasty. I was really disappointed with the jerk chicken especially since she had to go in the back to get it which was sus. It looked beautiful, but made me realize looks are deceiving. Idk whose cooking but they need to throw in the towel, I would not recommend this place at all.
