Express runs to Sacramento, end-of-day deliveries from the East Bay into SF, they can handle anything I throw at them, all the while being friendly, professional, and an all around pleasure to work with. I like these guys. If you want to deal with a small business with a personal touch, the courier guys are for you. You will, as often as not, reach them en route making a delivery when you call. They will talk to you like real folks and handle problems like you were their neighbor. Prices? I shopped around and I think their prices are competitive in the market/industry. There is no reason I can think of to use the corporate bigboys when you can give the business to the local firm down the block. I don't think they will let you down but if they do, talk to them.
