Their traditional English breakfast was filling and everything was cooked just right. It had all the typical items...meats, beans, potatoes, eggs, toast and a coffee. Prepared to order and very reasonably priced. My lunch meal consisted of a grilled tomato and cheese sandwich; it was hearty and filling. The cheddar was pungent and paired well with the tomato slices and grilled bread. For dessert, a co-worker and I shared a slice of carrot cake; it was light and not overly sweet (except for the frosting). This is a nice alternative to other spots available in Highbridge, and super-convenient to many of the nearby (industrial) business in the park. I hope they do well in this location!

But the best reason to visit the place is the food: Stuart and Dorothy are working hard to give you a delicious meal for a very reasonnable price. With dishes inspired from traditional french meals and a twist of welsh cooking, this is a very good place to eat lunch. Just be sure to check their Facebook page or their website to know what the day specials are - coq au vin, beef bourguinon, pâté en croute, tartiflette - all homemade! They also offer a special "Sunday lunch" which is halfway between the traditionnal Sunday roast and the french pot-au-feu. There's plenty to eat and it's really good food. The place is quite small but the music (french, of course!) and the decor, are really nice - I was really impressed by the chandeliers! If you go to Cardiff and visit the Albany Road area, this place is definitely worth a try.

It's a very simple establishment, with your typical British breakfast and some burger/chicken sandwich fare. It did the trick, since we were starving, but probably not somewhere I'd got out of my way to eat again. But if you've been at the beach all day and everyone is hungry, it's a cheap place to sit everyone down for a sandwich and bag of crisps.

The coffee's also very palatable, and with free WiFi it's a great spot for informal meetings if you work in the area.
