Love this store. Finally found a place with literally hundreds of choices for boots. I've been looking for quite some time and happy I took a peak inside. Plenty of choices with a wide size. Very reasonable prices . Friendly gentleman who was patient with the wife as she tried on boot after boot for herself( that was the deal. If I bought mine she got a pair too) . Plenty of cowboy hats, belts, buckles and ladies purses also. Being in a very touristy , gouging city, these prices follow suit with any leather and country store. read more

I surprised myself by taking home a pair of vintage boots from The Cowboy Way when in Gatlinburg this past weekend. The prices in the store are high, and the customer service is so-so (we weren't welcomed when we walked into the store but then an employee did follow us around a bit to comment and answer questions which made it a bit awkward and a bit like she was worried we were going to steal something?), but the boots were too cute to pass up, so I took them home with me. Not my favorite store, but you never know - you might find your perfect boots. read more

My wife purchased a hat from this store, and when I tried it on it was way too big. We took the hat back the next day for an exchange and they didn't have my size. They would not give us a refund, and didn't have anything comparable. They were very rude and condescending! Me or my family will never shop in this store again. I was looking for a leather wallet. Saw one in their shop but wanted to look at other places. Went back and as I am paying for the wallet I saw a small note next to the register saying they charge an extra 3% for any card transactions. I almost left the store as this is not really allowed under their CC agreements, ( I was involved with Fair Isaac (FICO SCORE) and that is where I learned that.) My wife paid with cash. Above average Western Store. They have tons of inventory, but despite that, they may or may not have the size of the item you want. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Customers should be aware of the store's policy on returns and refunds -- only some items do apply here -- others fall into a "you wear, you own" type category. Nonetheless, I always make a point to go shopping here whenever i am in town. read more

We arrived at 5:50 even though the Facebook page stated that they close at 10:00. We was told that we could shop and they was locking the door but they would unlock it when we were done. That was fine I thought. Five minutes later as we were trying on boots we were told that we had to leave. We seriously had boots on our feet!! We drove 2 hours to purchase boots today. They didnt even give us the option to purchase these boots to beat it all!! They told us as we were walking out the door they were tired and would reopen the next day. I wouldn't go back to that store if boots were half off. I understand not going in at closing time to any business but when the hours are plainly stated it kinda offends me. Worst customer service I have ever seen! My husband and I stopped in this store on our first night in Gatlinburg. It was my very first trip to TN, and had always heard how nice people were in the south.... well the employees of this store must be the exception! I have had my eyes on a pair of boots for a couple years now, and after seeing a similar pair at this store I checked my phone to see if they were the same ones. The man working in the boot section refused to get the boots in my size for me to try on, accusing me of planning to buy them online instead. He was so rude and condescending, I felt like I was a child being scolded! I was so caught off guard, I didn't know what to say!! Needless to say, we immediately left the store. A few days later we went to Stages West in Pigeon Forge- I would highly recommend shopping there over this horrible store. We spent more than intended, but I was more than happy to give them our business after this terrible experience! read more
