What a great place! The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My wife had been searching for the perfect pair of boots for quite some time but always struggled to find the right fit. The gentleman on the second floor went above and beyond to assist us--he was attentive, patient, and really knew his stuff. I regret not catching his name, but he mentioned hiking the Appalachian Trail, which made the experience even more memorable. Thanks to him, my wife finally found the perfect pair. My husband and I were on vacation in Tennessee and drove into Gatlinburg on 11Jun22. We walked around, had some lunch and did some shopping. Our shopping brought us to The Hayloft . I was looking for some boots and my hubby wanted a hat. Larry Johnson helped me with my boots. I had never purchased cowboy boots before (we're from Southern California). He was so helpful with all of my questions and making sure I got the correct size and we enjoyed talking with him. I Love my boots and wore them on the plane ride home, and my husband wore his hat! We enjoyed our visit to Gatlinburg and with definitely return to The Hayloft when we come back to Tennessee. read more

We stopped in the Village and noted that the Hayloft had Chacos. I was looking for some z / cloud with wide straps and we did find some. The sales lady was very helpful and even helped me put them on my feet like "the good old days" of shoe shopping. The prices are usual Chaco prices. They also had Teva, Keen, sak roots purses, etc. I think the other side had western boots and stuff but we didn't go in that side. read more

Went here to look at something different than everything else around the Gatlinburg "strip". Found quite a nice shoe store with lots of selection of all the known comfortable brands. Toms, Vibrams, Alegria, even some Sanuks. Kinda like a Birkenstock store, just smaller. The employee there was very helpful and patient. We walked out with 2 pairs! read more

Me and my wife Stopped by this little shop to look for a new pair of boots for me. We were greeted by a rude middle age man with long hair he looked just like the tow truck driver from Harold and kumar, we made our way up stairs to the boots and this guy just followed us the whole time standing over our shoulder with his arms crossed like we were looking to take something from his store without paying keep in mind we were the only two up stairs and about 8 people down stairs unsupervised. we were paying customers looking for a new pair of boots but quickly took our business down the street after being treated like a bunch of criminals read more

I recently purchased a pair of Chacos that felt good, just different, which I took to believe was just my feet needing to adjust to a new pair of shoes. The store woman asked if I would like to wear them out, which I did. What she refrained to say was once worn, I would not be able to return them. After walking back to my house, which was only a 10 minute walk, I felt a blister, which I was used to getting after a new pair of shoes. The next day, I wore the Chacos to a restaurant, only 5 minutes away with bandaids on the blisters. When I came home, the blisters on my inner sole had been ripped open, and I had new, painful ones on the outside of my feet. I did not wear the shoes outside again. I gave my feet a break, and took care of my narly blisters which were ripped open, and hurt so bad I couldn't walk comfortably. Needless to say, the shoes were not working. I cleaned the shoes up, wiping off any dirt or smudges, which there were few of due to my minimal wearing. I went to return them today, and the gentleman worker pointed out non-existent dirt and toes impressions on the shoe, and then told me that shoes cannot be returned after worn. I understand that. But when I purchased them, I was not told that, even though the woman asked me if I wanted to wear them out. He pointed out a sign behind the desk, stating the policy, but only after he moved a hanging purse that had been covering it, out of the way. I am an Optician that works for a large glasses company, and no matter the issue a customer has, we allow returns/remakes within 30 days--which we always let our customers know when they leave the store. He also stated he would be out of 100 dollars if he returned them, but hey buddy, so am I. I deal with upset and unruly customers everyday, all day, and I help them. Yes, I became just as upset as one of those customers even I hate to deal with, and I know you have as well. But a large portion of owning and running a store is learning to respect and understand customer complaints--from the small things to even bigger things. There's a thing called store and company policy, but there's also a thing called customer service. And as a retail veteran, the latter often outweighs the prior. read more

We stopped in this store on a recent trip to the mountains and it was a terrible experience. Will never go thru these doors again. The woman who worked there was nothing but rude. We had plans on buying a pair of Allegra's and two pair of Tom's but obviously she didn't care if she sold us anything or not. I would not buy anything from this store no matter what now. I want a pair of cowboy boots. I have never had a pair and don't know much about them, but was in Gatlinburg for my birthday and thought I would buy myself a pair for my birthday. I saw The Hayloft with many pair of boots in the window. I went in, spoke to the sales person, went upstairs to look at boots. The associate asked me if he could help, I told him, I had never had a pair and didn't know much about them, but I wanted a square toe. I was looking at the sale boots. The sales associate asked me about price, I said I was a little shocked at 500.00 for a pair. The sales associate replied, this isn't Walmart. I said I work for Walmart, the associate asked me to leave. He escorted me down the steps. I asked for the manager, he identified himself as the manager, as he kept asking me to leave, I asked for his boss, he said his boss was the store owner, Dan Booth, and he was in Chattanooga. I have never been so embarrassed and mortified in my life. I had seen a couple pair, I wanted to try on. So much for giving this shop any money. read more
