BUYER BEWARE: We went inside this store and was not greeted by the 3-4 people crowding behind the register, no other customer was inside the store. I believe they were training a new person and as we walked by we were still not greeted (it did not bother us, unfortunately we are quite used to this in these suburban towns). We took our time browsing the store as they had a selection of baby related items towards the very back of the store that we found cute yet (albeit very expensive). We spent about 10 mins. As we were leaving we see one of the (presumably new) employee with green hair walk towards the section we were in. He went past us and awkwardly followed us without uttering a word, made us feel like shoplifters. We were deeply offended and and felt disgusted as we exited the store. Apparently we are not the only ones who experienced this, I attached a screenshot of a 56 year old woman who was also followed. This store really needs to reduce their hubris, there is literally nothing of great value to steal from in this store. An apology to this review would be nice, however we do not plan on returning ever and the lack of accountability based on other replies does not provide us with much hope. TLDR; we went in this store and without any verbal interaction, was followed by an awkward employee. We felt offended and disgusted. It's 2024 and I would hate to imagine what the chain of events would be, if we were of a darker skin color. read more

We were killing time before a delayed flight walking around some downtown areas and landed here as well. I hadn't been to Lexington in years and seem to remember there being more shops to check out. Sadly, there aren't many, or at least not many we found. Luckily, we did find this place and it is excellent. If you are looking for a gift, especially jewelry, definitely go here. They have excellent displays of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets from numerous artists. Each one quite different so you will be sure to find something that suits you. There is a small room in the back with kids toys and puzzles, stuffed animals, etc. This shop also has candles, soap, gloves, hats, scarves, fun wooden puzzles, amazing drinking glasses and serving platters and dishes. I remembered what my girl pointed out and went back the next week to buy it. (That's how you do it, guys.) I know things are especially tough for stores like this that you really have to see in person to believe. I hope you will check it out - it is most definitely worth a visit! read more

This is hands down, the nicest store in Lexington center, and perhaps all of the North Shore to buy unique gifts and nice pieces for your home. They have a consistently changing inventory, so it's always worthwhile stopping in to check out what's new. I purchased my wife a handmade wooden jewelry box here for our anniversary that she loves, and it turns out that it was one of the last to ever been made! The staff is always warm and friendly and we always make it a point to stop by when we are in the area to check out this small local business. I came to Lexington the other day on a whim, just to have fun and walk around. I was hoping I'd find a really nice store with jewelry and other nice crafts and gifts, and I did! This store is great. They have a nice range of gifts from less expensive to high end. They have all the things I have a weakness for: hand-crafted jewelry and pottery, hats, candles, and many other things. Also a section with children's gifts in back. The owners are super nice as well. read more

One of my favorite stores. I can always count on going to The Crafty Yankee and finding the PERFECT gift for the person I am looking for. The only difficult part is holding myself back from buying for other loved ones and myself while there! I always come out with more than I planned. The beautiful unique items is not the only reason to visit this amazing store. This family run business is owned by the most kind compassionate people I have ever met. They go above and beyond to be helpful. It is clear this is not done just to make a profit but because they genuinely care about their customers and locals that they serve. From my experience they are especially kind and caring to the neighborhood children that come into the store. It is a wonderful feeling knowing our kids have places in town where they are looked after and treated well. I only hope this store continues to thrive! read more

What great customer service! I found Crafty Yankee by doing a "google" search for a hard to find jewelry line, John Medeiros. They have a terrific online site, I called into the store and spoke with Kathy ( the owner) and a few other people on her team. They were all very terrific in providing understanding on exact costs, shipping dates, etc. It was exactly what I was looking for at a great price. This is how a business should be run. Kathy even included a handwritten note to me thanking me for business. Wow, that sort of customer service is a rarity today. I will be ordering other pieces from her in the future. read more

Lots of excellent gift ideas to purchase including a lot of local items such as art, mirrors, mugs, and many other pieces from Lexington and the Boston area. I usually stop in here before Christmas to pick up gifts that fit the theme of "functional but unique." Like, pretty ice cream scoops, serving pieces with interesting designs, desk supplies with personality, that kind of stuff. There's a lot of jewelry, which I don't pay attention to, and there is some knitted stuff too. I liked a lot of the scarves (indoor accessories and outdoor warmth) but a woman working there followed me around, busily folding and adjusting the goods. I found it really annoying so I wasn't about to start trying on hats and scarves... She seemed too eager - give me some space lady! On the positive side, there were a lot of people working there to provide service, and some of the folks shopping were the type that like that sort of thing, but not me. read more

Although I love this store, I was somewhat disappointed that they would not let me use their restroom and told me to go across the street to a local restaurant. My friend and I spent a lot of money in that store and probably would have spent a lot more had they let me use the bathroom...They may not think that this is a big thing but it certainly meant a lot to me. read more

I haven't posted anything on yelp before but had a good experience with this establishment and thought i would let people know. I had bought a gift of earrings for a friend. The woman in the shop was nice and helpful and wrapped it for me. I accidently left the gift in a different lexington store and called to see if it was returned. It was and they contacted me and mailed it to me despite it being about 2 weeks later. I really appreciated the customer service and i was very happy to gift the very pretty earrings. i moved recently to the area and a friend introduced me to this wonderful store. i have now been able to do almost all my holiday shopping there. they have trollbead bracelets which all my nieces love and great handbags. the salespeople really helped me find the best gifts. definitely recommend this local gem. read more
