The Crossing has been my home church for more than 10 years. I started attending before I was a believer. It is a safe place to ask questions and seek at your own pace. It is a large church with multiple locations. Fellowship groups and serving teams create a loving, "small church" feel. The teaching is biblical and engaging. Services are currently on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, as well as live online and on demand. There are campus locations in Fenton, St. Peters and Mehlville, MO. The Crossing has outstanding kids and youth programs. There are numerous fellowship groups, classes, and resources for adults. There's even a bookstore on campus. Being brought up in a church without first understanding or choosing a faith is pretty common. My faith developed as a child / adolescent without really understanding what I was being taught to believe. Values were discussed, but not really specific biblical teachings. Services gave lip service to scripture, but were often vague, or the sermon didn't explain or stick to the scriptures read. Scripture was presented completely out of context. It's no wonder that, when life started getting hard, I blamed God. My transactional faith seemed normal, and because I'd been a good person I expected a 'return on investment.' I strayed from any church for decades. Religious people disgusted me, and didn't seem to understand their own faith; believing because they were supposed to. Slowly I became willing to attend churches and enjoyed them somewhat. I found a charismatic urban church, but never fit in. Eventually by chance, a friend talked about how his church was his passion. He didn't try to sign me up, and didn't even mention its name. Curious I asked. Windsor Crossing Community Church at that time was meeting at the West County YMCA. I thought it was the strangest thing, until I went. The music, the multimedia, the in depth teaching in modern language, I was impressed. What really caught my attention was how they welcomed people regardless of their faith. They made the clear distinction that the collection was only for those who called the church home. They offered education and support for people like me. I've never left. The church has grown exponentially and has its own main campus plus 3 satelitte churches. Satellites have their own bands and campus pastors who are great, but the sermon is displayed on a life sized screen with others for multimedia presentations. It really is an amazing place. I've found, like one of the reviews has said, that hardline Christians sometimes find its entry-level style to be a problem. I can only refer them to one place....SCRIPTURE. Christ challenged the 'religious elite'. He taught the fisherman, the tax collectors, the lepers, and brought his message to all the people. He didn't dress as an elitist, and present himself to be superior. He served people. He met people where THEY were at. He taught them about faith and works, he taught about revival; just like the Crossing. People are encouraged to join small groups. This is where they people can mingle with people that share their style, strict or more laid back. The main services are for mass appeal. Volunteering is always made available. Faith without works is dead, and they teach about the value in giving. Opportunities are made off campus to give to the community and love our city. Millions of dollars have left the church to help other churches all over the world, including here in STL. Living Water International is supported so that people all over the world can have access to clean drinking water. At the Crossing, they seem to care most about what matters most. I've seen those without faith, just like me, have amazing conversions at all ages. It's true that divisive topics aren't discussed. If it's not biblical, it's not a topic. People are going to think for themselves anyway. The message about politics is about acceptance and love, not criticism and judgement. The message at the Crossing is that God so loved the world, not the hardliners, not the religious, but the world. The message is love and that's why I'm still there. read more

NOT LGBTQ+ friendly (but not explicit about their homophobia). While they claim to be accepting of all in their church, when trying to serve as a youth minister (just about 1.5 years ago) I was denied for my beliefs marriage is between more than just a man and a woman. I was then invited by the current youth pastor to a one on one conversionistic book club where we'd read about what god says on homosexuality. I was allowed to serve as a greeter but not any people oriented or leadership roles unless I could agree with a heteronormative sentiment. The crossings belief in order to serve is that people can be queer but should not act upon these beliefs. In fact I was told many nonpracticing gay people were currently serving. This makes my heart hurt they are not upfront about these beliefs and I was partaking in a homophobic institution for many years. If you're progressive and care about the queer community you will NOT give this church your time or tidings. read more

My wife and I faded away from church, and weee expecting a child. We thought it would be good to raise him in a church but had lots of reservations. I studied Biology and Chemistry in college. It was hard to find a church that stayed out of criticizing men & women in that field. After all, If God created the universe, did t he create science and scientists too? If God's all powerful, couldn't he create a world with evolving species, or is he not that powerful? We visited a church near our home, and we were the only people younger than 70 in attendance. An acquaintance mentioned being passionate about his church, But didn't try to sell me on going, or even tell me the name. I had to ask. He told me it was at the YMCA in Chesterfield. I wasn't impressed, a church in a YMCA? We started going in October 2002 and have been members, for the most part, ever since. The lead pastor of the Crossing is an incredible orator, with a key desire to educate the church using tangible examples, in real world explanations. Often times I find myself getting more of an education on customs or practices of ancient people and Civilizations, which helps put the biblical message into a perspective people like me can understand. The Bible is "unpacked" (read and explained) by modern day references and Christian and non Christian reference, and even statistics. Politics aren't a part of the community, and bigotry isn't there; not against anyone: non-believers, non-Christians, blacks, whites, Asians...not even scientists! The "holy huddle" is called out and rejected. We don't operate under the assumption that being a Christ follower should be a foregone conclusion. We have four campuses with fourteen weekly services (4 at three campuses and 2 at the newest. There has been an online service for years with attendance worldwide. Church services are often times packed and buzzing like a beehive. We're always growing. The church is active outside the walls through volunteer and small group activities. Services include a free active child care (kids crossing, a weekly 6-12 grade service (youth crossing) and Quaterlife, for young adults, plus lots of other classes, small group activities, and events. What's always been very impressive to me was the music in the charity from this church. Each campus has its own life band with amazing talent and diversity. Donations are incredible with the entire Christmas week collection going to living water international. Food drives and a school supply drive every year always show me that this community is always ready to and looking to contribute to the community at large as much as possible. There are a lot of good churches out there but I am quite convinced I found the best! read more

My family has been attending The Crossing close to 20 years, way back to the YMCA. I was brought up Catholic and a friend at work recommended I check this church out. I'm so glad I did. I've been to dozens of churches in my life but this one is full of life and love. Pastor Greg Holder is relatable, funny and compassionate. If you want to be anonymous as a visitor, this is the place. If you want to plug in socially, this is the place. If you have questions about religion or the Bible, this is the place. I wince a little when people imply they want to be "entertained" by their church, yet it's difficult to not be awed by the caliber of design, music and artwork that permeates this house of worship. This church has been a huge blessing to both my family and I. This is not only a church but a great community. I go every Sunday that I don't work and the message is always so well put together and the music is to die for. I am lucky that when I moved back to stl that I could return to the church that I was so familiar with and only a few things had changed. I am looking forward to becoming more involved in the church and that's the wonderful thing, there are so many options to become involved and become a stronger follower of Christ. I have to say it is the best worship I have experienced (5 stars). I attended once (before COVID) and viewed online several more times. The pastor, Greg, is enthusiastic and, as someone else put it, an orator, manipulating his words, throwing in terms of today perhaps to keep things light. He encourages the congregation to use electronic devices to look up scripture, catering to a younger group. Last listened online to the beginning of his series in Nehemiah. He started out in Nehemiah, suddenly shifted to Abraham in Genesis, then back to building a wall in Nehemiah, then to Messiah (this is how he refers to Jesus) when he walked out to the boat on the Sea of Galilee, then back to Nehemiah where Nehemiah expressed his feelings to the king. By the end of the sermon I wasn't sure what he wanted the congregation to get out of it. I did not come away feeling spiritually fed (the same as other times I have listened) but my brain was trying to figure out what he was trying to convey. It would not be a place I would want to attend. I am more interested in meat, not milk. This church has 3 satellite locations so his preaching must appeal to many others. As far as church hospitality and charity, I give them 5 stars. read more

I've been attending the Crossing for about two years and I would have to say this is a place that anyone should be able to find a niche and feel comfortable. Great pastor, staff, members... the classes are awesome, the events like the annual baptism AMAZING... this definitely deserves a shot if you are looking for a place to call home. We are all human, we all make mistakes, and we are far from perfect but we all hit the journey at different paces and try to learn from one another. Here at the Crossing it is definitely all about a relationship with JESUS, leaving the religion at the door and just enjoying good genuine relationships with each other. This is a church for everyone. New, young, old, Christians, non-Christians-everyone. It is laid back, come as you are (no suits and dresses needed!). Don't be overwhelmed by the size, there are so many people who would love to meet you. Go down to the front right row after church to meet some of the pastors and see who leads the church. Great church, Great Pastor, Great People! The Word is Alive Here at the Crossing! They really do show Christ's love in everyday life. My husband was diagnosed with cancer in August 2013. We were so scared and confused. We found out on Friday. We came to church on Sunday and they immediately asked if they could pray with us. We came way with great peace. THEN, Mary Matheson started a Meal Train and we had 3 meals a week for 4 months! They are real people, caring about real problems. My husband is in remission now and we can hardly wait to give back. I didn't want to like the church as I had been burned so many times. After being brought up in traditional denomination with lots of legalism and fear based doctrine, I was very skeptical that any church could get it right. I was wrong. They preach Jesus, God's love, the power of the Holy Sprit and they put it all into action. Even our kids like it. They are in college and high school and will even go without us if we can't make it. We can hardly wait to see what God does next! We are ready to serve and give back. Thank you Windsor for being the feet and hands of Jesus in today's world! read more

This is the best church I have ever been a part of, God met me here. He works in the most amazing ways, and The Crossing is a great place. They can help you; they are willing to meet anyone at any point on the path that leads to the Lord. No matter where you are on your path, believer or not, don't worry, God forgives all and The Crossing wont judge you. There is only one judge and that is the Lord Jesus Christ, He is a fair judge. If you are still reading this then there is obviously something/some part of you that needs more. Go to their website, go to a service, sit in the back corner, get a free coffee, whatever it takes. The music is modern, upscale, and awesome! The Service is, well words can't describe it properly, but it is the bible put in today's terms so anyone can understand it. Stop by the connection point after the service, you can talk; they will listen, and help. If I had to sum it up, no judging, no members, no dressing up, the focus is solely on the Lord Jesus Christ.
