We came here on the recommendation of our B&B hosts. The Crowsnest Pub has seating indoors and outdoors. When we asked for outdoor seating, we were asked to wait outside by the parking lot while a spot opened up. We waited no more than 10 minutes. The tables in the outdoor patio are spaced sufficiently far away. The wait staff all wear masks and wipe down tables after guests leave to keep everyone safe. However, most guests that I observed were inconsiderate of the safety of staff. I ordered fish and chips. Funny enough, throughout the few days I was in Tobermory, I had fish and chips every single day. Of all the places where I ordered fish and chips, the fish and chips at the Crowsnest was the best. The pieces of white fish were thick and juicy while the batter was crispy and golden. Although there were many guests, the food came out quickly. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the area.

The Crowsnest Pub is a mainstay in Tobermory. This popular eatery when it opened on our Sunday visit had a waiting line coming from the next door grocery store, Foodland. They offered your simple meals to accompany their beer and draft offerings...typical of your local bar. We ordered salt and pepper wings and pepperoni and cheese pizza. It was disappointing that the pizza arrived with burnt crust a d the wings were ordinary. Perhaps due to the diluge of clients, our service was not up to par Difficult to park although you can park on the street. $$

    Jalapeño poppers and salad.

Typical pub! We liked the fish and chips, jalapeño poppers, the salsa was pretty fresh as well. They had live music on Saturday and the band was really good. Good service, the gratuity was already included, we had a good time! This is a small town with very few options out of the few places we tried, this was pretty good.

    Greek chicken wrap with fries.

Excellent pub. I ate lunch here. Started with the crows nest cream ale, excellent draft. Ordered the Greek chicken wrap, came with fries, was delicious. Wait staff (Megan) very pleasant and attentive. Oh and the music was excellent.

I don't get the shit reviews this place gets. When you are eating here, a touristy place that mostly operates in the summer, you understand you are paying a premium for the location and the seasonal service, and likely the best chef doesn't work here. I appreciate how this place is still open on a September Friday night at 9pm. The two of us ordered a soup and a large pizza. Server was friendly. Food got here fast. The portion is decent and we didn't finish the everything. I hope there's more onion on our pizza. We left with full and happy stomach.

Just eh... we had some apps there with a cocktail and the cocktail was weak and the food was just ok. The fries were under cooked and the gravy wasn't hot.

The pan-seared fish is so........ tasteless? This is the most expensive item on the menu though. I don't think I would like to try any white fish any more.

That was $43 dollars plus tip. Don't go here

Go to the fish and chips across the street. Our meals were cold. We waited almost 40 minutes, only to find out that our burgers were nothing more than frozen patties that were literally defrosted in the microwave for less than 15 seconds. Shit pricing. Shit staffing. This meal for two set us back $42 dollars plus tip, for what? Two burgers with orange juice. Lol. I asked the ONLY waitress if there was wi-fi, she replied with "have you ordered anything yet". Yes.... She did say those exact words. No wonder the place was empty. Which seemed kinda strange considering how conveniently it was located.

The food looks better than it tastes

Not a bad place, fish and chips was great, good view. Short walk to the dock. Good place to dine before or after the sail.

3.5 stars really. Four stars for ambience, three for food and service…read more Seek out this up-North remote vacation pub/dining room for a relaxing dinner. It is not in the town, but on the small woodsy north peninsula. Clean, roomy, with a beautiful view of the harbor from the multi-level deck. Although the view was obscured somewhat by the folded umbrella, umbrella support, condiment basket, and railing. All of which are necessary I suppose. We were there in early fall after the holiday, so it was peaceful and quieter than the drinking party crowd eateries in the town. It is a small building, interior decor was "dining hall at camp". Whitefish dinner was good, not great. Both fish and veg slightly overcooked. Was fish frozen and thawed instead of being fresh? It had that slightly steamed quality that should not be in fresh fish. It tasted good though. My companion had ribs with Carolina sauce. Now, we don't expect true barbecue smoke and heat in this region, but ribs were (there's a theme here) overcooked. They seem to have been par-boiled, then grilled to finish when ordered. Sauce described as "hot" was about once notch zippier than bland. Fries (chips?) were good. All was attractively plated and presented. Drinks list had a good assortment for such a small business this remote, they had something for every taste. Server was friendly and cheery, but fey and disorganized. She would answer half a question, disappear for a long time, then come back to answer another question. When she brought our meals, she plopped them down and disappeared. I had a question about an unexpected item on my plate (I have a few allergies) and it took nearly ten minutes to get someone's attention - the place was not that busy then. When it was time for our check, we had to wait and track her down again. Very annoying, as we were tired from driving most of the day and wanted to return to our motel. Not a fancy place by city standards, but good for such a remote seasonal location. I would go again, just lower your expectations some.

There are a few other places to eat in the area; however, we're in a mood for a brewery. This place was clean and well kept! They had sitting on a deck around the front and along the back as well as indoor dining. Our server, Boggy, was terrific! He was personal and professional, keeping us informed and checking on us throughout our late lunch. I ordered an adult beverage and my wife ordered a peach spritzer. Their sweepstakes IPA was absolutely delicious! No question on what it was wanting to be! I decided on their prime rib burger with poutine fries while my wife decided on a grilled chicken sandwich with no bun. Our meals came out relatively quickly. Even though the burger was required to be well done by provincial health standards, it was moist and tender! We really enjoyed our meal! If we were in the area, I know we would be back often! Thank you again Boggy!

Our server, however, was extremely friendly and the reggae music playing overhead was enjoyable and not obtrusive. The food and check did take a while to come out although the restaurant was admittedly full when we came. Prices: You're looking at about $9 pints and $21-25 entrees, it's not cheap but it's also about par for the course in the area. Food: We got the lamb burger and messy fish sandwich which were both very good. The lamb burger had a decent sized patty and wasn't gamey at all. It had a good amount of tatziki and pickle onions to balance out the flavors. They do also have great burger buns that was pillowy while still having a robust golden crust that doesn't get soggy 4.5/5 The fish sandwich had a breadcrumb breading that was very crispy and served with some fresh shredded greens to lighten up an otherwise heavier sandwich. I would recommend asking for a side of tartar sauce though to give it a little more acid/tang. 4/5 We got Cajun fries and poutine fries as our sides and they are the soggier once-fried kind although they had spot-on flavors which made them still enjoyable. 4/5 We would also strongly recommend trying the blonde and amber ales which were excellent summer beers with a light body and subtle complexity. 4/5 Overall, I would say this place is a solid choice. The food has great flavor, good quality, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The prices are expectedly high for a tourist area but not so bad that we wouldn't come back again.

It was cold autumn month when we were here but they offered a dining area outside with heater. On the menu, they offered one piece fish and chips combo, or fish and shrimp combo, or chicken and back ribs at less than $25. They also offered all you can eat fish and chips at $28.99. We were pretty hungry so a few of us went with all you can eat fish and chips. The fries were mediocre but the fish was awesome. Each one piece of fish here was cut into two half pieces when they fried it. The fish was perfectly cooked and flavoured with very crispy breading with perfect thickness. The white fish tasted so fresh and soft. The owner was so nice to renew our fish a couple of times until we were full. Very satisfied with our dining experience here and strongly recommend their fish and chips.

The fish was very fresh and juicy, wrapped in a thin, crispy batter, the best fried fish I've had so far, though my limit was one fish, and I'd feel greasy after that. The fries were on the thin side; it'd be even better if they were made in authentic British style. Fried calamari was delicious. Also wanted to try their shrimp, but too bad it only came in a combo while we didn't need more fries. Their homemade IPA tasted good but was pricey - 4 cans for $35.
