So I had a bad night at training on Thursday, skating head-first into someone and hurting my neck. I was fine though, just a bit annoyed at myself for being a total dunce. So on the way home from training I decided to stop off and treat myself to some pakora, and this was kind of on my way. I drove past it at first, thinking it was in the main shops in Giffnock but it's up near where Leo's Bar & Grill is. It was around 9.30pm so it was really quiet, just the one guy in the shop. I'll be honest - he wasn't very friendly but he wasn't exactly rude either. I went for a "small" chicken pakora consisting on 8 pieces and sauce for £4.10. They weren't cooked to order, I couldn't quite see but I think they were reheated while I waited.
When I got home (maybe 10 minutes later) they were still pretty warm and I dived right in. I was impressed - they were still crispy, had a good batter and the sauce was tasty. The portions were generous and some pieces were really big. All up, pretty damn good pakora and a reasonable price. I also got a thing of spicy onions for £1 and Graeme liked them a lot, and I rate him as the spicy onion guru. read more
