The rooms are stocked with snacks and there's some local artwork you can purchase if you like. The upstairs suite doesn't have any kind of a kitchen, though there's a mini-fridge and I believe a microwave, so dishes are bussed out as you use them; don't plan on doing any food prep on your own. The hostess brought breakfast to the room (there's not a common dining room like most B&Bs) and pointed out the local ingredients including eggs from her chickens and vegetables from the garden. This is a real working mini-farm and it's fun to stroll the grounds and see what is going on. And it's VERY close to the northeast corner of the campus; we were able to leave our car and walk to his dorm (Van Meter) in about 20 minutes. Like the website says, the grounds are very rich in animals and there's an extremely friendly cat who wouldn't stay out of our room in spite of the management's desire to keep the premises pet-free. Keep this in mind if you have allergies.

Maureen, the owner, was very helpful and communicative leading up to our trip, and once we arrived, the accommodations were wonderful. The rooms are all different and have their own quaint feel about them. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and on late nights, the innkeeper set our group up with wine so we could wind down. The grounds are also pretty, and it was nice to enjoy some time outside. The inn does not have an elevator (obviously, it's a restored old home!), but as long as you do not have mobility issues, this is a fantastic place to stay during your visit to the Berkshires (the location can't be beat if you're going to Tanglewood and the like!).

Even in the midst of the pandemic, our experience was charming and fun. Joan, her husband, and staff did an amazing job at making us feel safe and welcome. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful (we stayed in the Deerfield King Suite - we highly recommend), the common areas were inviting and ideal for relaxing after a dinner (you have to go to the Gill Tavern), and all four of us agreed that the breakfast we were served (farm to table and more unique than any breakfast I have ever had) was the best we'd ever had (sorry, mom!). Next time you want to get away and enjoy a small town atmosphere, not far from Boston and close to Greenfield and Brattleboro, be sure to stay at Centennial House!

You heard me right! Every room in this beautiful inn is decorated and designed by a different artist chosen by the owners and the Aloha room has a giant hammock like floating bed that sways based on your body movements. We were lucky enough to see this awesome room before the guests checked in, but man was I jealous! I also was jealous that this inn was not really near anything to do, and was on the edge or a more run down part of the city... We stayed here for two nights and very much enjoyed our stay anyway though. EVERYTHING here is organic and natural, so if that isn't your thing, this is not the place for you. They also didn't tell us in advance that we weren't supposed to be using any of our own products other than the organic products they provide in the rooms for you so that you don't contaminate the sheets or pillowcases or anything else in the inn. Sounds pretty strict I know, and there is a warning on the door that says they have the right to remove anything that they think may negatively affect the inn as well, but I still wore my make up every day and nothing like that happened to anything of ours while we were there. We did try out all of the organic products though which was an adventure on its own. Not so sure I would use that powdered organic toothpaste again, but it was a new experience! Their breakfasts are also delicious and come included with your room stay cost. All organic and natural which I definitely appreciate and it is all made fresh since you tell them in advance what time around you are planning to eat which is lovely. Very nice inn keepers that are pretty knowledgeable about the area and definitely want you to have the best stay possible. This is also the first inn I've stayed at in a while that didn't have a bible of any kind in it too. Their natural organic approach meets spirituality and technology with their flat screen tvs and satellite tvs and their keyless door code entry. Oh ya, don't forget to take your shoes off and put booties on when you come in! Definitely an escape from most people's everyday lives which is what trips are supposed to be, right?

Designed like a parking garage, made of poured in place concrete. Wonderful views out into z garden. I definitely would go back again. The green room was beautiful, warm, and welcoming. Bathroom is across the hall. Large and spacious. I'd recommend you bring your own shampoo... she has plenty of soaps, scrubs, and conditioners. Towels are provided. It's the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

She made fresh and delicious breakfasts each morning and provided us with tea in the evenings. She also fielded countless questions about the structure of the house without tiring. This eco-friendly house itself is so well insualted that they don't actually have any heat beyond a fireplace that radiates heat... yet I didn't feel cold at all (and I'm always cold). This country style oasis is the perfect Eco-tourism spot. It even features a few hiking trailks to a nearby gazebo offering beautiful views of the area.

On the south side, you wake up to a sun-drenched, turn-of-the century luxury that you didn't know existed. Frank Newton, proprietor, makes every guest feel as if he is lord of the manor. Melissa keeps the 1800s mansion in sparkling condition. We stayed in the Eleanor Roosevelt room with a canopy bed and pull out couch, as well as a desk for writing those letters back home. (Free wireless internet included for that back to century feel.) If you are heading to the Berkshires or Tanglewood, your stopover should be the Summer White House.

Luckily, they had a room available and even offered to take $50 off the price. The location was perfect, right in the middle of Lenox. We were even able to walk to and from Tanglewood, avoiding the traffic in and out of the parking lot. Our room was nicely appointed with a nice little patio. There were so many interesting books, paintings and pictures on the walls. In the morning, we had a nice simple breakfast that was included in the price -- baked egg dish, boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, milk, coffee. Would definitely come back and stay in the future when we come back to the Berkshires. Of note, their website didn't allow up to pick a date in 2017 to reserve a room so we had to call in to make the reservations. Probably easier to just call ahead rather than deal with the website. Anyways, had a wonderful time and looking forward to going back soon!
