As a walk in on a Friday afternoon I knew from calling earlier in the day that I may have to wait while Kevin finished with a client. Turned out that he was done when I got there and just had to do a quick piercing while I waited. Once it was my turn Kevin took some time to mock up the Nautical Star Compass I wanted, all while everyone was laughing and having a good time. Everything seemed cool at first, I sent her the pics of the tatts I wanted and scheduled the appointment for this Thursday. She tells me deposit is $100 via messenger. I told her I could pay her the next day (it was late Saturday night) on Sunday once I was off work at 6pm. She tells me she only accepts Chime payments which seemed weird claiming she doesn't handle cash or any other form payment. After talking to my husband it seemed sketchy I've never had an artist tell me they only deal with CHIME. I messaged her back and told her to cancel the appointment (this was on Sunday) and decided to just go to someone who was referred by a friend. I deleted the conversation and went on my day. She starts messaging the next day NOW OFFERING TO ACCEPT CASHAPP and sends me a cashapp tag that didnt seem to match her name. I still didn't respond because its giving weird and sketchy. She then offers to take $20 off...big deal the tatts weren't expensive. So because I would no longer respond to her anymore she decided that she would send me this message. If your that upset because I decided to not let you tattoo me TOO BAD. All you did is prove how unprofessional you are. Watch out and be careful doing business with this one.

They had my email and my Instagram to get it a mock up to. I received nothing, and when I got a call confirming my appointment, I brought this up. Still, I received nothing. I did not attend the appointment because I had not received what was promised. I explained this to the shop owner over the phone, and I quote "how old are you? You should know that it is your responsibility to show up for an appointment. This is the most bogus thing I have ever heard. It is not in our policy to provide a mock up, and because you are not here for your appointment, we would normally take your deposit and you would provide a new one. However, I will hold your deposit and you can reschedule if you would like." She hung up on me after I declined. I don't know about you, but I personally would not risk going to a tattoo shop after that interaction. I have been told in the past not to go to Jacksonville tattoo shops because they take advantage of Marines, and I believe this rings true. I've gotten tattoos in California, Arizona and Wilmington, and not one shop has required a deposit to make an appointment. However, two shops in Jacksonville I've been to (ATS and Forbidden) have required this. I've paid both and been tattoo'd by neither because I've been stunned by their treatment of clients and expectations both.

I didn't want it on my back, I wanted it on my chest for a specific reason. She told me there was no way it could be done. I went to another shop and was told there was absolutely enough room, had a beautiful tattoo done by another artist and have a gorgeous piece I am truly happy with and adore.
