You can see why people return here - they're relatively cheap for parts and labour and are friendly enough. Now that my office is moving, I don't know if I'll go back here especially, but you ought to if it's convenient.

Have been here several times, mostly with small issues and once for a service for my old foldable…read morebike. Also took my new replacement folding bike for them to check as soon as I had got it. I trust these guys this much. Each time they've been shy but perfectly happy to help and fix things. They're simply guys who love bikes and love fixing bikes and they do it with a smile. And when they fix stuff, they've usually found something else on the bike that they can improve and throw it in for free. As an example, my rear mud guard was loose - always had been - so when I took it in to fix my chain I just expected a new and oiled chain at the end of it. When I got the bike back, not only had they fixed my brakes and my chain they had also made from scratch some means of stopping my rear mud guard from bouncing all over the place. No charge. No problems. Don't expect this every time you go but it shows how far they go to make sure everyone leaves with a smile. They're great :D

Lots of different colours and styles. They mainly specialise in fixed wheel bikes, them trendy stripped-down things that are all the range amongst them wha know in East London. No gears, no brakes - not my kind of thing. But there's also a really good range of accessories like bike lights, saddles (genuine leather saddle for £65, it feels like wood!!) and an in-house workshop, where they try and fix things by the end of the day. And what a nice bunch of people run the shop as well, always happy to see a shop staffed by enthusiasts. I didn't buy anything. Eleventy-billion stars! Never before have I met such a politically vocal character who isn't…read morerunning for a government seat. Philip who runs this bike garage (it can't really be classed as a shop), is such a character. If you can get past his surly manor you'll fall in love with a true gent who cares about the world and the people who ride their bikes on it. Last night I was cycling along when out of nowhere my back wheel slipped from under me and I fell off. Looking at my bike I realise I had a totally flat tyre and had to walk all the way to my destination - I was in a total grump about that! On my way I pass Halfords and another little bike shop on Stoke Newington Church Street, both closed. I was filled with fear. This might mean I'd have to get the bus to work tomorrow. This is not good. Luckily I stroll pass a brightly coloured bike chained up to a church which says "Love Bikes - open for bike repairs". It's the first time a church has ever really spoken to me. I hear angels. I stroll on down and Philip invites me in. I explain that this happened to the front tyre a week back and Lock 7 had to replace the whole thing. "Oh no no no, that'll be expensive. And by the looks of it, you probably don't need to do that. We can patch it up. Give me 10 minutes." So off I stroll and 10 minutes later I return to a fixed tyre. Apparently, there was no need to replace it, they patched it up perfectly for a fiver. On top of that he said I could leave a donation. A DONATION to fix my bike! Wow! Now I think I was squizzed by Lock 7, they did a quick fix that made them the most amount of money rather than actually looking to see what the problem was. Not here though, Philip, also cleaned my chain and gave her a little bit of a fiddle and she now rides like a dream. Philip is my go-to bike man. Here is the kind of business that needs Yelp, a place where a real person's experiences sell the service services. This chap is fabulous. Also, if you are caught out late at night, as I was, Philip is open still hanging out at his shop and he's more than happy to help. He also sells bikes, but nothing stolen so he has a special place in my heart.

Took my bike in for a well overdue service. The staff, older gentlemen, certainly know there stuff…read moreas they were quick to identify what issues it might have. Being the rider if the bike I thought only I knew!!! The price for the basic service is well priced and does what it says on the tin. They have a range of services available which cover different aspects. They assured me if it needed further work they would contact me before undertaking the work. The shop has a good range of bikes, children's, teens and adults. They also stick the usual array of cycling clothing. The real plus side to this shop is its location just a 30sec walk from Norwood junction station so if you commute to work via Norwood junction it is way to drop off and collect your bike. The only downside was they lost my number so I had to go back to the shop to see if my bike was ready, which it was so no biggy!! So all in all they do provide a quality service (minor hick up aside) and I shall be using them again in the near future that I am sure of. I would have given them 4 stars but they did misplace my number ;) So if you are in the area or thinking about getting a bike/servicing your existing ride hop off the train and give them a go.
