Day of the wedding he showed up early, set up early, the music that played during the cocktail hours was perfect. Also Jay has a very unique way to ensure the dance floor is full. I wish I could recommend Jay but unfortunately I cannot! Jay is completely unprofessional and unreliable. We booked him for a 4/8/2023 wedding for DJ services, electrical distribution package and generator, and cold sparklers. The cold sparklers cost $500 extra, on top of the other services (we also paid a couple hundred for the generator + electrical distribution package.) That night, he was unable to do the cold sparklers because there wasn't sufficient power at the venue- even though we had explained the power situation to him SEVERAL times and hence paying for the generator/electrical distribution package. He said they wouldn't work, we were disappointed, but no big deal. I called him after the wedding and he told me on the phone (not in writing) we would figure out a refund. He then proceeded to ignore me, and started our second phone conversation weeks later with saying he wouldn't be giving me a refund. He was rude and unprofessional. HE ALSO PLAYED TERRIBLE MUSIC- if you are getting married in your 20s/30s, he is not the DJ for you. Several times throughout the night we asked him to play more contemporary pop songs, specific artists, etc, and he would do it for a song but like play some weird techno version & then go back to playing his own stuff, not what we requested. People kept leaving the dance floor due to the bad music. Eventually he got annoyed that we kept asking him for songs (IT WAS OUR WEDDING AND NOBODY WAS DANCING) and switched to our must play list that we had filled out in advance. We didn't even get through the list though because of him choosing to play his own stuff despite it being must play songs. And he would repeat songs when he did play our playlist because songs on our playlist were also listed as out last dance song etc- He played the same song three times!!!! (Once when he was doing his own stuff so a weird remix, once when he switched to our playlist finally, and once when it was our last dance.) He also tried to blame the cold sparkler thing on our wedding planner who was working her butt of. He is very unprepared in terms of MCing etc too because he will only look at the stuff inputted into his website (which isn't user friendly) and will ignore anything your wedding planner sends him, which he basically told me before the wedding. He only cares about $$$$ and getting in/out. I am on my honeymoon and stressed out because my husband got very sick and had to go to the ER and Jay still started every conversation with "no I'm not giving you a refund" even though he had initially stated he would (probably just to get me off his case because he then ignored me for weeks stating he was on vacation but he was only out of the office for one week.) EDIT: Jay says that the contract states we were to provide electrical but we paid him to do this and had multiple conversations with him beforehand, as did our wedding planner as well. read more

I hired Jay from the florist I found for my daughters quince. He was very rude from the time he received my deposit and I gave 65% deposit so I felt tied in so I tried to be very nice and understanding as he comes across as the busiest DJ around. He sold me on the fact that you can upload your own music and when we tried I was unable to login. I messaged him and never received ant assistance. He threatened that if I do not use the florist and party planner he would charge me full price as supposedly he gave me a discount. This DJ "company" was a disaster on many different levels. We hired him and paid an extra $300 for generators to run the setup and then paid an extra $500 for a sparkler send off. He did not bring the generators required for what we paid him for despite having communicated to him directly and through our wedding planner what our needs were so we were not able to have the sparkler send off that we were really looking forward to. On top of being robbed that experience at our wedding, he also decided to keep our $500. He refused to refund us the money even when he explained that he has other weddings booked and he can use our unused sparklers for them. In terms of the music, he had us fill out our wedding song requests, but didn't use them at all. I went up to him 4 times during our ceremony because he was playing terrible music and people were not dancing. Each time I gave him specific instructions such as "please don't play EDM music" and he did not listen. After speaking to him 4 different times he responded in an annoyed tone "I'll just stick to your list of songs" since he knew he had been completely ignoring them up until that point. He also played multiple songs multiple times at our wedding which was really lazy, ridiculous, and completely obvious to even our drunk guests. Having good dancing/music at the wedding was one of our biggest priorities and hardly anyone danced at our wedding until he finally started listening to our requests. I would say this "company" is completely unprofessional and did not come close to delivering any kind of service worth $2,000. Hiring this "company" was the only regret of our wedding. read more

I first contacted Jay from Wedding Wire, however, after reading too many negative reviews on Yelp, I decided to go with another DJ company for my wedding. I took the time to notify ALL of the DJ companies I contacted that I've hired a DJ and no longer needed their services. It seems that Jay never got the memo??? I sent a message on Wedding Wire and thought he didn't get the message because he followed up with a text if I needed a DJ. So I texted him back. I deleted the text message. Then about 2 weeks later, I got another message from him following up. Again, I texted back telling him I don't need a DJ anymore. I deleted the text message. THEN AGAIN, about a month after, he texted and I replied. I saved the text message. Two weeks forward, he texted again. I ignored. Three weeks forward, he's still texting.
