Wow! Armando is amazing. He was the epitome of professionalism AND beyond extraordinary, when providing the music for a friend's 50th wedding anniversary and later my 60th Birthday celebration. 90% of guests stayed until the party ended dancing and laughing and having a great time. In fact we all, including Armando had a great time.... the party went into 30 minutes overtime! What a fun night! So how did this seemingly effortless, memorable night happen? To begin, Armando met with me and a friend to get a better idea of the theme (Great Gatsby), the invited guests, and what we wanted in terms of music, the kind of dancing guests would do, and our overall entertainment for the evening. He asked for songs we may have specifically wanted to have him play. The party was a smashing success thanks to Armando and all the thought and work on his Playlist he did in preparation for the evening. I recently was asked to coordinate dancing for guests at a well known retirement home, for their 60th anniversary event. The Board is going all out, and hired a live Band for the event. Wellll...... this is where I realized just how REALLY amazing Armando is!! When the live band...The Ravelers, a local "top rated" band, were asked for a Playlist for the evening so that older residents could practice dancing in preparation for the event, the answer was " we won't have our Playlist until the night before the event." When asked if they could play three extremely popular songs from the 60s (the party's theme) the reply " one one of the guys lives four ours a way so they can't practice and learn new songs" BUT suggested one song he knew they would play... a country western song from 1978 [wow what happened to the 60s!?) What a contrast!!! I knew Armando was amazing, but until now I took for granted his professionalism, thought and the preparation he puts into his events. These Ravelers advertise that they do party and wedding events, but they really are just doing a concert where "they hope people feel their beat and dance." BUT Armando is the REAL thing!!!! He wants to know the theme, who the guests are, what type of songs and dancing you would like and overall creating a "wow, best party ever" feeling as guests wrap up for the evening. His set-up is on the simple side, but he has a few lights synced to the music and the speakers are plenty loud for small to mid-sized groups.
