Bus Boy said seat yourself, barely anyone there, waitress was rushed, salad was wilted, no flavor to chicken Dakota, dirty dinning area, floor between bar and eating area slippery and greasy. My family and I went for my dad's birthday, we all had a wonderful meal at a good price. I had the steak salad, side of blue cheese, which was tasty, tho my steak was cooked past medium rare as I had asked (not a big deal, tho, as I'm not picky). I was only able to eat half and am enjoying the rest as breakfast! My mom and sister had eggplant Parmesan, which smelled very good and came with side salads (which were huge!). They didn't finish their food as it was a large portion, but leftovers are great. The sauce smelled good and fresh, and they really enjoyed the way the eggplant was cooked - minimal breading and cheesy. My dad had a 16oz steak with baked potato, and he couldn't stop talking about how perfect it was! It's his favorite meal and he's usually a bit picky about his food, so having him be so pleased with his meal is a great compliment to this establishment. I can't remember our server's name, but he seemed like a seasoned guy with experience to spare, as he was training a new server. Went here to see a band playing on the patio. I asked the waitress if I could order food. She said I had to go in and order from the hostess because they don't serve outside. Said I had to get a to go order. Hostess was obviously inconvenienced by taking order for outside food. She was rude to me and to two friends who placed separate orders. I came back after the 15 minutes I was told to wait and she was yet again obviously bothered by taking care of to go orders. Sad they act that way. Looked at my receipt and they charged an extra $1.50 for a carry-out surcharge! Really??? What a joke. Last time I go there. Never felt so unwelcome. Bad business. Great meal! Had the French onion soup which was pretty good, but the scallops were great! I dare say some of the best I've ever had. On the expensive side, but I left full, and had a great meal. Great staff, Kayla was the perfect server. The remodel was worth it, can't say enough good about this place now that it has reopened. I will be back! read more

If you are out towards Hilton, the Dakota is a great place to eat. Small dining room (with bad music) in the back. Staff was friendly and food was excellent. I highly recommend their homemade soup or the Dakota chicken sandwich. read more

This was just a horrible meal with no management to tell anything to. Was given rancid vinegar for my salad that was a solid mass in the bottle. Butter was bad and paid $25 for seafood that couldn't be eaten as the butter had a tin and metallic taste. Hostess was a young girl who was terrible and had absolutely no customer service skills at all. These are the folks that want a $15 min wage? LOL right. We had heard that The Dakota had new owners and that the place had been remodeled. Well, what a difference! The bar area is open and inviting and the dining area is not crowded at all. The decor is very clean and fashionable and we felt very welcome. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with the menu choices. We arrived around 2:00 PM for a late lunch and brought food home with us so a great value for the price. My husband said it was one of the best "garbage plates" he has ever had and my burger was done to perfection. We will definitely be going back and taking our friends with us! read more

We went to the Dakota to have dinner and it was fairly busy good sign. We Sat and ordered our food and then the wait began... I'm not one to complain but we sat and watched multiple tables be sat, eat and pay before our food came total wait time from order to service an hour and a half. We had to have our food boxed and ate at home as our family has small children. Once home we sat to eat and my wife bit into her lobster French to find not only was there one small piece of lobster but the piece that she did get was filled with pieces of shell. I had the prime rib it was average at best very fatty and tough for a prime cut. All in all not worth the drive to Hilton was a waste of time and money. read more

We used to go to The Dakota pretty regularly before the changeover. Sad to say that the food is horrible now and the only way that it will stay open is from having the bar regulars. The past two times that we went the food was so so and incredibly expensive! We went last week and that did it for us! The food was left over from God only knows when and you could tell that it was heated up in the microwave! We got a "pizza fire oven" chicken sandwich and it was not done in any pizza oven, it was an incredibly bland, tiny piece of chicken that you get in a frozen bag at the grocery store with "grill marks" already on it! Our waitress was wearing her mask BELOW her nose and everyone at the bar were sitting in top of each other as if COVID didn't exist! Also, the septic problem was NEVER resolved! The place still smells like shit very strong, which I'm pretty sure is a health code violation! Between two sandwiches, a cup of soup that was so bad we couldn't eat it and a couple of drinks, the bill was almost $70!!! So not worth it! Very disappointed and will never go back! Go to The Dakota only if you want a shitty meal with a side of COVID-19!!! read more

Worst meal I have ever ever ever had, we ordered and they literally forgot half the meal while assuring me it was all there, I get home and call them and it takes another 30 min+ for my other food they forgot. I get that food and it's burnt and the fries are cold and soft and disgusting, literally taste like fries from tops and baked. Gravy had something in it. 10/10 suggest you do NOT go here. I would give this place a zero if it would let me. Ordered to go, forgot to give us an entire meal, gave us blood dripping steaks that were asked to be well done. Asked for mashed potatoes and received baked potatoes. Spent over $80 and didn't get half our order. Tried calling to see if they could make it right and I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. Been fishing at point breeze for twenty years and decided to take ride and find new place to eat. Great find, dining room is eclectic but food and service was first class. Had prime rib that was cooked perfect, great salad not just a pile of lettuce and fries that were fresh and hot like they should be. There were three in our party and all got different meals and not a bad word from any. The wait staff were very polite and knew their product very well. They did not hover but we're very attentive. I will definitely go back. Only one complaint, they only have one small restroom located in the bar and I had to wait almost ten minutes to get in. read more

Don't do it! We went on Friday night at 630 pm. The joint was jumpin'! The initial setup is confusing, but once we located the hostess she was very friendly and warned our group of 6 that there would be a 30-40 minute wait. She was accurate, but we expected it due to Fish Fry Friday and our time of arrival. Once seated we were introduced to this place's weak link....service. Water came to the table rather quickly followed by one of three wait staff assigned to the 100+ customers. He took the drink and soup order and didn't return for 15 minutes. We finally grabbed him to remind him we needed to order food. Another 20 minutes passed before soup/salad was delivered, and 55 more minutes before entrees were served. Definitely a need for more and better staff on Fridays. The salads were large but short on dressing. The clam chowder was overly salty. The time lapse to get our entrees affected their quality as the fish was luke warm but without the cripsness you'd expect from cooking at a couple hundred degrees! If you have nothing to do for several hours on a Friday, drive somewhere else! This place was not worth the wait. read more

Just cruising on what may be the last decent day before the snow flies and we found ourselves about 70 miles from home and hungry .. wife said lets try this place for lunch.. take a shot .. glad we did ..wife had steak sandwich and fries ..tender steak and fries were done right..I had chicken fried steak with mashed tater's and gravy ..very good stuff ..crust just right and sausage gravy (little chucks of sausage in there) made right.. bartender/waitress on the ball checked on us and was there with a coke refill before I had to ask ..I like that.. reasonable prices also...like that too...wish we were closer cause I have a feeling all their food is as good ..chefs in white coats make me think they know what their doing, and these guys do ... if we're any-where near there I'll remember to go back .. read more
