My favorite place to go for trivia night and broccoli French is amazing. Fast and friendly bar service always from Matt

New owners really did a great job renovating the place. Looks gorgeous! Food is good. Was there to listen to Lake Effect band on their outdoor patio. Great band! Great outdoor patio! Patio was full but still nicely spaced apart with umbrella tables. Ordered bacon pesto chicken sandwich with fries and wings with a cajon dry rub. Both were good and would order again. Nothing spectacular but good food. Some prices seemed expensive but that is unfortunately the times with supply and demand. Glad the wings were big and juicy and not tiny like some places. They're getting hard to find now a days. We will be back.

The Dakota has played the backdrop to multiple lunch meetings with business partners for us, and has always had a friendly and accommodating staff! They have been operating during covid, masks and all, with menus that are constantly changing with new offerings, and familiar favorites. The lodge feel mashed up with the bourbon and whiskey barrel tables and custom tabletops makes for a great conversation piece, and just plain ole cool art! Obviously, we come for the food! Their soups so far, have been amazing! The lobster bisque is flavorful with chunks of lobster, and the French onion has heaps of onions and gobs of cheese! A favorite for lunch, the Buffalo Bill burger - is a delicious steak burger with mushrooms, Swiss, onion straws, campfire sauce and your choice of fries or onion rings. Cooked proper and the fries and onion rings are both solid. I haven't tried any of the salads or the Reuben yet, but that's a yet! Off the beaten path, but well worth driving a little out of your way!

I've had their fish and chips in the past, which were meh compared to what I've experienced elsewhere, but that is where I will finish complaining and start complimenting for example the tacos here. They are amazing, as is the poutine, the onion rings, and the Smash burger--I got the Angry Sterling, which is a flavour explosion with delicious toppings. And the drink, the Toronto cocktail, was amazing--a strong enough flavour of whisky with just enough of the liqueurs to make it not sting going down. Oh, and I haven't spoken about the live music yet. There was a guy playing guitar who was taking requests, and--and I'm saying this as a person who isn't too big a fan of acoustic guitar music--was pretty good. His passion alone made me start to bop my head and tap my foot to the music. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the nice trails, beach, and a historic house in a neighbourhood that reminds me of the bridal path. It was burned in the war of 1812 and rebuilt in 1815. The patina of time proudly on display here. A vibe you cannot recreate easily. We got all appetizers all great - French onion soup, escargot, stuffed mushroom seafood by the way there was considerably more seafood than mushrooms. The garlic bread it came with is excellent. Our server Meghan was super nice and the food is fairly priced! It's not on the main strip which probably explains the pricing. If you're looking for honest to goodness food, some history of Niagara on the lake and Canada at the same time you don't have a choice, but to go to the old Angel Inn.

It was getting late and we wanted to eat before heading out back to the hotel. Mom and I split a the roast beef dip sandwich. Perfect idea cuz it was big enough to share. Decent amount of fries. Generous portion of roast beef. And the au jus was good too. Server was good. He was very attentive. Prices about average for the area. Maybe slightly less. They have ciders on tap. Also other Irish beers. Also cocktails. Nice selection. Atmosphere is very old pub like. Authentic though. This is a good place to go. Has a history. Has ghosts. It's all good. We will be back every time.
