Cost aside, all male instructors are very respectful and appropriate with students. However, the heavy-set female instructor in Denville is noticeably inappropriate with male students, so if you're going with a male partner, ask to work with one of the other female instructors.

When I was there the staff was nice - however it was clear none of it was genuine; and the intent was to make you feel so comfortable that you didn't mind spending the absurd amount of money they were asking you for, to "invest in yourself" *rolls eyes* Coming from a dance background it was clear some of the "instructors" were quite literally people who not only had almost no actual dance training, but people who came in off the street looking for a job & were essentially being trained the same time as new students! Practice parties: A joke. There is barely enough room at this studio to host a half decent super bowl party. The limit of smooth dances on the playlist... coincidence? These typically turned into extremely small group classes led by one of the most inexperienced teachers (and studio manager if I recall correctly) Staff Turn Over: Common occurrence. Sign of poor management? Sing of poor work atmosphere? Sign of poor pay? All of the above? The owners of this studio own all of the north jersey studios so we can only assume the same problems exist internally at the other locations. Not all Arthur Murray studios are in a failing state. I suggest if you're looking to learn how to social dance and want to check out an Arthur Murray, check out a few locations. The feel and atmosphere of where you're dancing is just as important as what you're learning. An over all experience. If you're looking to learn how to dance at a competition level/professional level, check out Fred Astaire.

From clients to the employees, you could just tell how nice everyone was. I was really nervous, but the employees all knew my name, remembered conversations I had over the phone, and it was just such a different experience. The instructor Tamara was amazing. So knowledgeable, no judgement at all and super encouraging. I love that she took her time with each person to correct their form and really make sure that you weren't going to hurt yourself. I ended up signing up for a 3 month membership because I felt so comfortable and I wanted to see if I could Really push myself these next 3 months. I'm looking forward to more classes! I literally revolve my life around the classes at PB. I feel so incomplete without it! Each and every one in the instructors are amazing. When I met them for the first time, they really take the time out to learn your name and it makes you feel "seen" and comfortable. The whole atmosphere is so welcoming from when you walk into the studio and at the barre. They make sure that your form is correct so you don't injure yourself and even explain in class what moves focus on what muscle groups of your body! There are so many "Challenges" that you can sign up for and everyone cheers each other on! I love this PB family! Shout out to: Michelle, Tamara, Brannagh, Carly, Gioia.. just because it works out with my schedule, I've taken their classes the most! However, EVERY SINGLE ONE of the instructors are amazing!! It isn't a competition school, which allows students to learn dance and just have fun! Nothing is perfect, and the studio definitely has some flaws, but RDAC has continued to grow and improve over the past several years, and continues to work on improvement. My daughter has autism and takes private classes because that is what works best for her. She has worked with several teachers and they are all patient and energetic. You can tell that they love what they do and they share that love of dance with the students. Another reviewer said they had a hard time getting to know the people there but I've had nothing but a good experience and think the office staff and teachers are very friendly and would do anything to make the students and their families feel comfortable. It doesn't matter if you have a child who aspires to be a professional dancer or one that just loves to dance and wants to learn, I believe this is a great place for them.

Low pressure- keeps it light and fun for my toddler. The ballet class is adorable with a great mix of kids from all backgrounds. They keep the price of classes WELL below any other studio in the city as they want to be inclusive for all children to learn and experience dance.
