We needed some help evaluating the condition of our trees and recommending an actionable plan. Had a few different companies come out but Davey was the easiest to schedule. An online request was met with a same day call back and I was on the books for the following week. We had a certified arborist (Taylor Hunt) come out to do the evaluation vs. a sales guy (who knows everything) and the initial consult was free! Our arborist was professional and to the point. Did a quick walkthrough and focused on answering all my questions. He was knowledgeable and his action plan seemed the most sound and it didn't come across as he was trying to add different treatment plans to make some more $$. Overall Davey worked out to be the cheapest. It took a bit to get scheduled for the actual service (tree fungicide application): you have to approve the estimate through the arborist and then the office will call you back to schedule. Had I not called, I would have just been waiting and wondering. Anyways, got the first fungicide application done, which was seamless. Their portal is easy to navigate and make payments etc. I would highly recommend them! read more

We used this tree service about a week ago. The job was to remove two large trees in the front yard and to do some miscellaneous trim work in the back yard. The crew (5 people) arrived on time (8 AM) and did an absolutely great job. I amateur guess was that the job would take a full day (or more) but work was finished by about 1:30 in the afternoon (which included a complete cleanup of all of the areas that had been affected in front and back yards). The company rep who provided the estimate (which we thought was very reasonable) was Dan Johns, a certified arborist. Lastly, the final bill was the same amount as the estimate. read more

I live on Cochise Dr in Atlanta, and had seen the Davey truck doing some "tall/high" pruning for a neighbor. Reached out, and got a quote. The whole process was excellent. Ken, Antonio, Jose, Blake and team were superb. We had them take out a large gumball tree, and heavy-prune over 50 large (40 ft plus) species of bushes, including arbor vitae's, ligustrum's, hollies, cedars, crape myrtle's, etc. . The Davey Tree Expert Company of North Atlanta did a fantastic job removing a fallen tree (the primary purpose of our call), hauling away some dead trees, and trimming two trees that dangerously overhung our 3-story house. They had the special equipment to safely lift and remove the large fallen tree that hung over and threatened a structure in our yard. In this work they covered and took great care not to damage a cement walkway that had to be traversed by their heavy machines. The tree climber Blake was amazing. Dan Johns, the arborist and estimator, was very straightforward and honest, recommending that we leave one tree standing that could have increased their profit. Their price, compared to other estimates, was excellent, and the work greatly exceeded our expectations. I give them my highest recommendation. read more

Great service! Hurricane Irma sent us a huge oak limb through the roof and deck on Monday afternoon. We had used Davey tree service twice, and we were completely satisfied, so I called Davey ASAP. The next day Mr. Perry provided an estimate. The crew that came out was great. They managed to get the crane and bucket truck into tight quarters, safely performed the job, and did a great job cleaning our yard, sidewalk and driveway. I am very pleased with the work and my experience with Davey Tree Expert Company and services provided in Decatur GA. Chris Heim, a I.S.A. certified arborist met with us to review tree and make an assessment of the dead limbs that needed to be removed. I felt that their quote was inline with similar work done previously by other company. The team showed up on time this morning. They got up into the tree and found and removed numerous other dead limbs that weren't visible or identifiable from the ground. I am very happy with the pruning and removal of dead wood and there was a lot more deadwood pruning than I expected. They did a great job of signing the street to notify any pedestrians and autos of the work effort. They did a great job cleaning up after the pruning and dead wood removal was complete. Davey Tree arborist Joel Twist came out and evaluated trees that were close to our recently completed home and provided a recommendation for removal. He was friendly and informative. By the time the crew came out to remove them we were able to get agreement from the neighbor for an additional tree. The crew was friendly and quickly provided an estimate on the additional tree and removed it as well. When they left, other than seeing the trees gone, you could hardly tell they had been on the property. After poor experiences (and price) with other tree companies, I called in some highly rated companies for estimates on 5 dead trees & 1 large dead limb over my roof. Chris Heim, the registered Arborist that came out to estimate was thorough and professional. He also didn't recommend removal of a 6th tree that was growing intertwined with another since both trees were clear established and doing fine. The guys showed up on time and completed the job (even though they were short handed) in less than 1/2 day. They left the area clean of all debris (except the cherry wood that I asked to keep - and they cut it into firewood size segments). I expected to pay on the spot as I have in the past, I was told would receive a bill in the mail. Wow (I thought) that has not been my previous experience. I was so impressed that I watched the mailbox everyday and when the bill arrived, I paid online immediately. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. Davey exceeded expectations for the tree removal and pruning job we used them for on two different properties. From the onset, Davey provided superior service to the three other tree service companies we considered for pruning large water oaks, removing a large dead tree cherry, and trimming some dogwoods and other smaller trees. Davey Trees did a wonderful job with our trees. First, there was the actual tree trimming which was wonderful. Our trees have canopy but there's more room for them to grow, and no more squirrels getting on the roof. Second, there was the initial contact, which was by phone and then follow up with email and text messages. I prefer email and texting to calling and so I loved that we ended up coordinating via email. Brilliant. (Sometimes its easier for me to send an email than talk on the phone). Just had them out to take down a couple of large pine trees. Newly seeded grass was only about 2 weeks old. They placed 4x8 sheets of plywood over the grass to prevent damage!
