My husband and I have been going to the Dead Zone for years whenever we visit Cape Cod. I love all the bracelets, necklaces and earrings I've purchased over the years. The smell of incense is so mesmerizing. They have clothing and toys for kids, T shirts for everybody and really cool women's clothing. I buy my son, who lives in Colorado, a cool T shirt every year. It's a great place to go if you are gift shopping. You will not be disappointed if you stop at the Dead Zone in your travels. read more

It's a famous favorite shop at the cape. We've been going to the dead zone for the past 10 years when vacationing at the cape. My sister loves their beanie baby plushy collection. Each year its a cape tradition to purchase one of the beanie baby animal plushy. There's a wide collection of it. The dead end sells a bunch of Grateful Dead merch, incense, hemp, CBD, essential oils, Jesus candles, crystals, sages, jewelry, jackets and more. It's a sweet little shop to visit. I'm so bummed I didn't purchase some crystals. The prices are fairly decent. Patty the owner is extremely nice and friendly. She offered us some rompers and shirt to try on bc we were looking through some tie dye beachy clothes. I'm a petite woman and found a tan romper that fits my height which is very rare. They sell brand new merchandise that looks like it's vintage 60's & 70's. What a Cool Concept! The Parking here is Free in this little off the beaten path strip mall located on Rt. 28. As soon as you pull up & read the Exterior Sign, you know you're not going to your typical shopping haunt. The Sign reads THE DEAD ZONE GRATEFUL DEAD * REGGAE * COOL HIPPIE MERCHANDISE. When was the last time you saw the word Hippie in a sign - NEVER! This is a small shop but packed with Cool Merch for both Men & Women. My husband is a tie dye fanatic and once he read about this store we were going no matter how far the drive was. This store is full of all kinds of Grateful Dead items. I first ran across The Dead Zone quite by accident. I was on a day trip down to the Cape and happened to notice it out of the corner of my eye. I immediately insisted we turn around and investigate further. The Dead Zone has little to do with psychic abilities but certainly would quality as "expanding your mind". Its a real one-of-a-kind shoppe that offers just a little bit of everything. They offer Grateful Dead merchandise (where they take their name, clever, huh?), as well as clothing, jewelry, incense, reggae music, hemp products, and other items one might not expect to find down on the Cape. They have since moved to a new location just down the road at the Hearth and Kettle Plaza, and although this store is a little bit smaller they manage to pack the store wall to wall, floor to ceiling. The Dead Zone is owned and operated by Patricia Martin and every time I have been there she has always been very pleasant and friendly. She always asks if you need any help, but isn't pushy at all. On my most recent trip I bought two head bandanas which were priced 2 for $5, and then a third Grateful Dead bandana ($5). I also picked up some incense which smells really great and burn pretty clean & smooth. I might only get down to the cape a couple times a year but whenever I do I always make sure to stop in and "free my mind". read more

One of my favorite places to visit when I am on the cape! Something for everyone... my favorites are usually the shirts, sweatshirts and the headbands... oh and the stickers too! The merchandise is always so vast and unique, they have a large selection of Grateful Dead things. The customer service is always way beyond expectations, amazing!! We had a blast shopping at the Dead Zone! Prices are very fair and there was a beautiful, updated variety of Hippie, Bohemian clothes. The owner stated that she wasn't looking to get rich, just wanted a store to sell cool clothes! She sure has succeeded !
