I'm sorry but I don't know what all those who gave this place 5 stars were smoking but stay away…read morefrom here. My wife and I were on a long trip and were hungry. We read the reviews and since we like to support local businesses, decided to give it a try. We are currently praying that we don't get sick from the burger. The first impression is that this isn't the cleanest place in the world. Normally that would have been enough for us to just leave, but we wanted to see what the hype was about. We went to the counter to order and no one was there, a young man got out of a booth and came to take our order. His face hidden behind his hair, he didn't greet us or welcome us, he just said, what can I get you?" I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my wife ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The cook poked her head out after we paid and said they didn't have anything to make the Philly. So my wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger. We sat and waited as what we can only assume were regular customers left. Then it was just us and the young man and his female companion sitting in booths. One customer walked behind the counter and chatted up the cook for a good 10 minutes, all the while we are waiting for our order. Finally I got up and walked to the counter as the customer left and the cook scurried back into the kitchen. The young man got up from his booth and asked me what I wanted to order. I had to tell him that I was still awaiting my order. He went back into the kitchen and brought out the plates that obviously had been ready and sitting there. The burgers were not tasty and they were slightly on the cold side from sitting around. The fries were inedible, lacking flavor. Even salt didn't help those greasy planks of old potato. This place really needs an overhaul. I shuddder to think of the cleanliness issues that may be lurking in the kitchen. This place may have been great in a time gone by, but today you should just pass on by.

There's so many fueling stations. We stop by every time we're in the state and stock up on the stuff you can't get anywhere else. This is truly one of those places you have to see and experience for yourself.

Yes, it may just be a gigantic gas station and a huge convenience store, but its 70+ bathroom stalls, and every kind of beef jerky imaginable, hundreds of snacks, freshly prepared brisket, 20+ kinds of icees and drinks, and an entire section of merch, seem to make it much more than that. I dropped by this Amarillo, Texas Buc-ee's on my road trip back to California from Indianapolis. It's just as huge, if not bigger, than other ones I've visited and, also like other Buc-ee's crawling with people! It seems like people can't get enough of this place. I tried the fresh brisket (sliced and also diced) and it was amazing. Also don't pass up on the beaver nuggets! So tasty! Of course I also left with a Bud-ee's shirt, for me and the fam. I recently heard they are adding several more locations along I-40, which makes sense because people clearly cannot get enough of this place. If you have never been to a Buc-ee's, it is worth stopping at least once. It can even make for a fun road trip destination just so you can say you experienced it. And, with any luck, you might even get to meet the beaver!
