They had some fun stations I'm sure you can register but they had a make your own art with broken glass and there was a few people there participating. It was such a cool concept & then we went to go grab a beer across to the brewery.

Not only did they not send any balloons with the order they send them to a completely different address!!! When I had to go and pick them up from a strangers house, which defeats the purpose of a delivery. I was shocked to see some of the worst flowers I've ever seen in my life.. I paid for the premium extra deluxe flowers that comes in a pot with succulents and flowers. Look at what was sent. Honestly, this florist. Should be ashamed to send these out.

Meaning, if you want to pick something up for yourself, or you want to get a unique gift, this is an interesting place to grab it. One of the good things about this gift shop is, that it is not inside the aquarium building itself. From this, you do not have to pay an entrance fee to go into this shop, if you just want to look around at what they have to offer or purchase that something you never knew you needed. Overall, if you want a great little gift, or some memorabilia from your aquarium visit, this is the place to go.

What could it sell? Would it be things FOR African Americans? By them? About the links between Africa and America? What defines African-Americans, and how could a store sell gift items on such a topic? I walked in, only to find.... ....it was 95% Bob Marley/Hemp/Reggae paraphernalia with three cheesy "nature-y" items as well. I was offended. I was dismayed. I was disappointed. I bought an African Elephant charm necklace, ashamed of myself. Then popped in my Babylon by Bus CD when I drove away, humming "Concrete Jungle."

I do love this store and have found many unique special gifts for friends, daughters and myself. The store is located in Malaga Cove shopping center which has a wonderful breakfast/lunch spot, coffee, deli, market and ice cream shop. So a drive to Corners of the World shop is definitely worth it.

First time I called I had a super hard time understanding the employee on the phone. Second time the employee was super sweet and answered my questions. Both leis and experiences were really seamless and didn't have any problems with my order. I went and picked up the leis a day in advance too. Inside you see one of their employees making leis at the table and there's options on the wall to choose from if your walking in. If you are ordering during a busy season, I recommend ordering it asap too. Would come back if I needed to go to any other graduations in the future!

The flowers were beautiful, costs were just a fraction of what it would cost to have a florist procure them and put them together. We had no idea, as to "our" budget, except it was given to us our wedding gift. My paternal aunt purchased, all of our wedding flowers here and placed together by family, with love. We were there, bright and early and got best quality flowers. It was day or two, before they would be used. They must be preserved, freshly and kept them inside my bathroom, in dark, cold room & cranked up AC. All of it was placed in bathtub for hydration.

First the website mentions parking on the roof and we could not find this parking. There was an area blocked off, but it didn't say full. It was just blocked off and the only reason I suspect that was their parking lot is because the exit was still open. So I had to pay for $10 across the street. Yes we could have found street parking further away, but I was already frustrated not having found their lot and my partner was just like I'll just pay. Let's just go across the street. Next even though it is mentioned on the website (I don't remember seeing it despite looking at the website multiple times) and there was a $2 entrance fee. what am I paying $2 for? Why am I paying $2 to shop and spend more money? I'm sorry just on the way there as we got closer, there are so many flower shops around the mart so I don't see why you wouldn't just go to one of those and get your flowers without having to pay an additional fee. So now, we are already $14 out-of-pocket and we havent done anything but try to park and step inside. We get inside we look around and I honestly did not find the prices to be that different from a farmers market perhaps a slightly bigger bouquet, or a couple of dollars cheaper, but there was nothing that was like ooh, this is a great deal. We ended up buying a large bouquet of lilies for $25. There is a stall in the back that had what I would consider actually good price prices. Five stems for $10 and a big bushel of another kind of flower for $6. We got those as well. My partner also really liked the plant guy and bought a plant from him from $20. Now here is where I really will not be back. I stopped at a stall called Choice America. I saw a really pretty set of mum's and asked how much they were & was told $10. The guy helping me then confirmed that they were $10 with somebody else. He then went on to say that one with eight stems was a higher price that I don't remember because I knew I wasn't getting that.When I got to the counter to actually pay, the woman was going back-and-forth with another customer about some order. They both seemed equally frustrated. Why is this important?.. because when it was my time to pay she said $10. I handed her a $20 bill. She opens the register and pulls out a five and some ones throws up her hands. I deduced that already being frustrated this is just one more thing on top as she doesnt have enough change to give me and instead turns to me and says $12.50. I kind of stumble and I say for what... tax or something? and she goes yeah tax clearly lying! Even if they did charge tax, which no other stall did, sales tax in Los Angeles on $10 it's not $12.50. The unfortunate problem is that I am black and I am not afforded the luxury to say something back because then I'm seeing as an angry black woman, have the police called on me not being believed etc. etc. so I just have to bite the bullet and get scammed and ripped off of my money. My partner and I both agree that it was not worth the hassle to go, but he really wants to take me to the restaurant across the street so we would go back to the plant guy and we would go back to the stall in the back but even those are BIG IFS as neither of us has any desire to ever go back to the Flower Mart. I feel like overall. The whole place is a money grab, you should save your money and go to your local farmers market or visit one of the many other vendors that were around the area without having to pay an admission fee to even buy flowers. Or better yet be bold like the elderly lady who accosted us as we were leaving and asked "are you all done in there can I have your sticker?" I was already too flustered to even recognize what she was asking till after my partner happily handed his over.

It feels like a place where many movies might have been filmed here haha. Very old building appeal. The bookstore is one of a kind and a gem for Filipinos or people interested in learning about Filipino culture, history, with different sections of art, poetry, history, photographs of places which I wish I took more time in here. The gentleman Sedrick was so helpful in having to find books I wanted to search specifically autobiographical stories of Filipino Authors. It was a bit limited in that section but there are also hand weaved baskets and can be for sale I heard. The book I happily purchased was not close but the obviously had to pick an art book which was not surprising. Parking out bacj was only 25 cents for 30 mins which gave me a little time to find this bookstore so enchanting and hope it is kept in here or perhaps find a new home to a much wider audience but these days, so much harder to find quality books and Philippine Expression bookstore truly is not a place you find anywhere. Unless someone proves me wrong. Books are not cheap and it's ok. I LOVE the feeling of images and Illustrations of books. Especially good hard bound books. I purchased The Filipino Primitive: Accumulation and Resistance in the American Museum. Please keep visiting bookstores and support!
