From the very first moment of my very first visit - during which I was filled with anxiety - I was out at ease by the ever so kind greeting by everyone at the front desk. Everyone who works there seems to really enjoy what they do, enjoy helping people and enjoy where they work because they exhibit real warmth and concern. Nothing felt false or or forced. It was a very nice change from the indifference I've experienced at too many a doctor's office. Or the forced plastic emotion which is actually more shudder worthy! I felt none of that here . Not from a single member of the staff - from reception to dentist assistant to my surgeon to billing. Each individual seemed genuinely interested in helping me get the best care possible with the least amount of pain - both physical and technical (ie insurance!). I experienced several complications due to some bizarre problems so I needed to make many return visits, often with little notice. They always found a way to accommodate me! Even when I screwed up and forgot to arrange my travel in time - they quickly pivoted to the next option and got me in to see the surgeon. Almost unheard of these days! And my care was superb. I needed to have a number of teeth pulled. The treatment was so quick and GENTLE that my stress stayed low and spirits high. And when an infection invaded my jaw, my surgeon sent me off to North Memorial ER where he'd sent word of my situation ahead so my intake went ever so smoothly! I've never experienced healthcare that didn't seem to move at a snails pace. Not so this time! I checked into ER at 2pm on a Friday and checked out around 2pm on Saturday - AFTER having much needed surgery! The follow up care has been just as wonderful. I will add that when I needed an expensive procedure done that, although medically necessary, my insurance would not cover- go figure, the dental office provided a financing option that I would not have found elsewhere! I simply cannot recommend this place enough! Although I will keep trying. If you need to see an oral surgeon - I HIGHLY recommend Christopher Rivers and the Dental Specialists of Roseville! I called this clinic to see if they could book an appointment to treat an infected tooth that needed care as soon as possible. Despite the fact that I had a referral letter I offered to send to them, the receptionist refused to schedule an appointment unless my dentist sent over the same letter to their portal. I have never run into this at any other endodontic clinic, and felt to me like I was being treated as a child who could not be trusted to handle their own referral paperwork. I don't know who would lie about an infected tooth to get a root canal. Throughout the conversation, the receptionist was rude, accusatory, and unhelpful. She even lied to me when I told her I would be paying out of pocket as they were not covered under my insurance. She told me that paying out of pocket for out of network care was committing fraud. Which is not only stupid, but incorrect. A simple google search will tell you that is wrong, you can seek care wherever you want as long as they don't try to bill your insurance if they are out of network. This level of unprofessionalism and ignorance gives me serious concerns about their business practices. I would recommend seeking care elsewhere, I know I will be. read more

Extremely rude front desk staff. I called today to check on a referral that had been sent by my dentist's office. The woman I spoke with was very rude from the start. She initially told me they did not have the referral, then backtracked after realizing they actually did. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she tried to gaslight me about the situation. Rude After receiving a full mouth tooth extraction we were given no follow up instructions for the next steps or even to check on the healing progress. After calling the following Monday morning to see what our next steps should be I was spoken to very rudely by the woman answering the phone. She was extremely impatient with me and practically to the point of yelling at me. I wouldn't have even had to call for instructions on the next steps if they had just done their jobs correctly and explained at the surgery appointment what we were supposed to do next. In May I got my permanent retainer glued back on at the Woodbury location. It had broken loose after having it for 15 years. The experience was very poor and the services cost double what they should have. After that whole ordeal, three months later my retainer completely broke off my teeth again. I was very upset. I called the clinic back. I got an appointment at the Roseville location. I arrived and Jessica took great care of me. She got the retainer glued back on. She even said she was going to use a different, stronger glue this time. She was very kind, very professional, and very efficient. I really appreciate the experience she provided me with. Dr. Davis at the Dental Specialists acted incredibly unprofessional and raised our concern over his ethics. He offers a consult plus wisdom teeth extraction on the same visit which was convenient for us. Our daughter suffers from anxiety and had prepped herself for the appointment. In January 2022 we arrived and after taking x-rays and conducting an exam he concluded the procedure could not be preformed that day because she had 2 risk factors, 1. The lower jaw nerve being too close to the teeth and 2. creating a hole in the sinus cavity based on her anatomy. He wanted a nurse anesthetist in the room so he could focus on the delicate operation. The first available appointment was 2 months later in March. Our daughter prepped herself again for the procedure. On the day of the appointment the office called twice asking us to come in earlier than our 11:30 time. I explained that the nurse instructed me to give our daughter her meds 3 hours prior to the procedure (she needs them morning and night). After the second call we were told the procedure was cancelled. We insisted on talking to the Dr. Davis. He said there was too much miscommunication and he needed to cancel and reschedule at the end of May. We called Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants and were able to get a consultation at the end of March in the Wayzata Office. I did not share our experience with Dr. Davis. At the consultation Dr. Sundick said "This is easy, a piece of cake." I asked if she had any risk factors like being the nerve being too close or creating a hole in the sinus cavity. He said "If she was 40 maybe, but no this is a standard procedure." He used the x-rays sent over by the Dental Specialists. They also never use a nurse anesthetist for this procedure. Our daughter's wisdom teeth removal was scheduled for two weeks after the consult. It was done quickly with no problem; she was sent home and recovered well with no complications. Dr. Sundick and the staff at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants in Wayzata were incredibly professional, kind, and supportive. In addition, the cost of the procedure was half of what Dr. Davis at The Dental Specialists in Woodbury had charged! This was an unfortunate experience that raises some ethical and professional questions. We feel extremely fortunate Dr. Davis did not perform the procedure given his unprofessional advice and behavior. read more

I had a dental emergency last week and was in an excruciating amount of pain. The staff there were very kind and got me in as quickly as possible (as soon as I could get there). The receptionist, dental assistant and Dr Partnoy, all answered my questions. I felt well taken care of. They also followed up the next day to make sure I was still doing well. I wouldn't hesitate to return if/when I need to. I am very grateful for their immediate assistance! read more

I worked with the dental specialists today to get my wisdom teeth removed, all 4. The customer service is great, and receptionists maintained an exceptional attitude upon every interaction. They called to confirm my appointment the day before both my consultation and the surgery itself. from my perspective, it seems like a very straight forward place. They got right to it and we're very transparent about insurance and possible risks associated with the procedure. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because I waited over an hour in the lobby after being asked to arrive 15 minutes early. Granted, the snow may have delayed the wisdom tooth removal before me and it seemed like they had a particularly difficult and time consuming removal with the first patient. I was very upset at the time as I feel an entire hour after my designated appointment time is kind of ridiculous. Other than the wait, I had no issues. They got right to it once I got back into the office and they made the experience very comfortable for me. read more

I feel it's important to share our experience given it's been good. Dr. Ridgeway is very kind and good with our kids and all of them have smiled after being there (not to mention stickers, prizes and cool tooth brushes to pick from!). I've had my 6,4 and 2 year old there. My oldest had multiple fillings but my other two have had perfect reports. I do not believe he over does it and if it's more than a couple fillings - sedation is way way less anxiety producing. They don't force anything- and distraction is key hence the tv and movies. (It's the same way whether at Children's hospital or a haircut- the alternative is listening to them scream or not even getting anything done. Screen time needs an exception here). I don't doubt that there are tough experiences - especially with different insurance providers. But, I do believe dealing with small children and trying to do dentistry with scary looking tools has got to be so difficult!! Especially dealing with the parents who will analyze every move. We have a complex child and I'm always amazed by the nurses, doctors, hygienists and dentists who try to help him and are almost always super gentle. Unfortunately tears will come and go, and it's just part of making sure your kids get the tooth work they need. We will refer him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist! read more

Specialists? Hardly. Dr. Ridgeway is supposed to be a pediatric dentist, but without a library of DVDs he is just a crappy dentist. He gave up after only 60 seconds with my daughter, but billed me $121 for the consultation. Consultation = nothing done. Park Dental needs to stop referring patients here. read more

Do your due diligence! Was referred to this clinic to have 4 wisdom teeth removed by the Dentist. They charged double for the initial consultation than what they should have (learned this after the appointment). We provided all our insurance information and were provided a print out of for the out of pocket expense which exceeded 2500.00 that was to be paid in full before the service. Having done this rodeo with other family members I was shocked to hear their price. I decided to spend the time to find another provider and get a second opinion. Happy to say, found another provider quickly, called in the morning and had the consultation the same day AND they did the proceedure for more than half of what we paid The Dental Specialists. The best news is the exact the same procedure was done for less than 800.00. This is not an issue of quality as the new clinic has been excellent with their customer service, their care, and concern and how they have been treating our needs. Either they are scamming the insurance companies or gouge their clients with outrageous pricing. read more

Dr. Ellie Sahki's office. NOT a fan. It's a long review, but if you are considering this office, I would read it! Here's our story: The kids we were in the process of adopting came home after the earthquake in Haiti. They were 8.5 and 10 and had never been to a dentist, so naturally a pediatric dentist would be the best choice, right? WRONG. My husband said "The only thing 'pediatric' about that office is that they have a few toys in the lobby." The first visit, we didn't think that they were very friendly, but we really needed to get the kids' teeth cleaned and get things rolling. It wasn't a great visit, but nothing appalling, either. Here's the run-down of our second visit (and keep in mind this happened a year and a half ago, and I am still so annoyed about it that I decided to finally post a review. ) We walked into the office - the first appointment of the day, and with all five of us going, we wanted to make sure we got there on time. We arrived about five-ten minutes early and the woman at the front desk looks up, and actually looks annoyed. I think she said hi. Dr. Sahki herself peeked around the corner and also looked annoyed and didn't even say hello. We were not off to a good start. I turned to my husband and we just looked at each other. Turns out, not ONE person in the entire office smiled at us during our entire visit. I guess they were all as miserable as we were. Ok, so our daughter complied pretty well, but our son fought. Hard. He did NOT want them to look in his mouth. They came to get me to help with him. He had literally been in this country three weeks and didn't speak any English. I acknowledge that he was difficult. I said something to him in Creole to get him to sit still and out of courtesy, told them what I said. Dr. Sahki rudely replied, "I think he understands by now!" I was SO mad! How does SHE know what he understands? Also, this kid has been through an earthquake, has a new language, a new home, a new life, a new (cold) climate, a new family, a new EVERYTHING? Some grace, maybe? The other thing that made us upset was, we told them flat out, these kids have JUST come from an orphanage environment (for years) and to please treat them more like young children and not their true ages. So, afterward, while Dr. Sahki is talking to us, the assistant takes them out of the room and gives them bags that have toothbrushes, floss, etc. and also some bubbles. My daughter walks in the room blowing bubbles. Dr. Sahki looks beyond irritated and says, "Please don't blow bubbles in here" I wanted to say, "Why did you give them those bags then?" I TOLD them that they were like small children - no impulse control. They should have given the bags to me or my husband if they didn't want the kids to actually look at what was IN the bags! Lastly, when we went to a different dentist, he said that there were baby teeth filled that he wouldn't have filled because they were going to fall out anyway...sooooo, she profited from that! We spent much more money than we would have had to. I cringe every time I drive by her building and I just really felt like I should share our experience. It was truly awful. read more

My biggest regret is not having done my research before stepping into the office of Dr. Ellie Sahki. Although she was the only pediatric dentist listed as an in-network provider with our insurance, she definitely was not the right dentist for us. It was suggested by our general dentist that we see a pediatric specialist because of my 6 year old's anxiety at her last cleaning. At that time they could see that she would need a few fillings, so believed it would be best if we were in an office with laughing gas. Although the dentist in this office is trained to use nitrous oxide with young patients, she lacks the chair side manor to comfort children or their parents. After examining my daughter, Dr. Sahki asked me to step into the hallway as she explain that she found numerous cavities that would need to be filled and 3 that would need baby crowns. She also said that the tooth we were most concerned about was infected and would need to be pulled that day. Their policy is to have parents wait in the hallway during extractions so that the patients don't exaggerate their concerns/behavior. They tried to give her shots to numb the tooth, but my daughter was quite upset. I was then invited into the room to help calm her down, but again asked to leave after a short time when she continued to cry. When she was done in the chair I was ushered down the hallway to talk with the office manager. She took me into a small private room to discuss the finances of our visit and future work. When the numbers were given to me, I understood why they wanted to do this in private. Our total was anticipated at $4000 and our insurance has a $1000/year maximum. They did however offer me a finance plan that would start out with 0% interest. I was overwhelmed at how this could be possible. We had started regular dental cleanings for our daughter at age 3, just as we had with all of our other 3 children. The other kids have needed a few cavities here and there, but never anything like this. I decided to go with a second opinion and am so glad that I did. Although "out of network" with our insurance, the dental bills with Dr. Amey Severson are not nearly as high as I was quoted in the Dental Specialists office and the staff are so much friendlier! Dr. Amey assured me that crowns were not needed and that she would be fine with fillings. It was my choice on whether I wanted to do the silver or the tooth colored, a decision that the Dental Specialists make for you, charging a much higher rate. If you are not interested in having your children forced to sit through unneeded dental work, I would suggest that you do not step foot into this office. read more

Wasted our time with Dr. Law at The Dental Specialists in Roseville. Will not make that mistake twice. We moved to town and were looking for an Orthodontist to transfer my husband's Invisalign care. We met with Dr. Law for a consultation. She scheduled a follow-up consultation for three weeks later while she received his records from the transferring office and would quote a price for the remaining Invisalign care. So we waited three more and received a phone message from a scheduler right before the follow-up consultation stating, 'Dr. Law has no need to see him, so we have removed the consultation from the calendar.' The message went on to explain that 'particulars didn't match' and reiterated that there was no need to see him and they've gone ahead and cancelled the appointment. My husband called to find out exactly why Dr. Law wouldn't take his Invisalign care. She has every right to not accept patients, but we don't know if it was a financial decision, per policy or if she didn't agree with the treatment plan already started. To summarize, Dr. Law was professional in person but NOT professional in her way of turning away patients without explaining the situation. The message we received was disturbingly snobby. Plus, we wasted three weeks. Not to our surprise, Dr. Law did not return my husband's phone call today to try any get some clarification. Again, NOT professional at all. After appearing so optimistic with proceeding a few weeks prior, it was just down-right rude. read more

Probably one of the worst experience ever! Dr. Adam L. Ridgeway wouldn't service/extract my daughter's infected tooth because we wouldn't agree to move forward with all of the services that he recommended. All we wanted was sedation and extraction but he said he won't do it unless we do the sedation, extraction, retainer, etc., that totaled up to $2500 out of pocket. The receptionist Patty told us that "he won't drive down to the Children's Hospital to do one tooth extraction." He doesn't have the child's best interest at heart nor the parents, it seem like he was more interested in up-selling and increasing the medical dental bill for his own pocket book. Never will I go back to see any of these "specialists." read more

The office staff here are horrible. They lied to me (it wasn't just a "mistake") about obtaining authorization from my insurance company, and assured me a procedure was covered (it wasn't) -- now I have a large bill to pay. Then they lied to me about the conversations they had with my insurance company (we have notes). They have never followed through on anything they said the would, from sending me treatment plans to dealing with billing issues. I'll be going elsewhere for treatment (live and learn) -- if you can't trust how this place handles routine, simple things, how can you trust anyone there cutting into your kid's mouth? read more

I TRIED to work with the skilled, expert, specialist Dr. Kulkarni at the Roseville office. We were moving forward, both of us on the same page of misapplied crowns caused teeth to move and twist. I paid 5k for orthodonics and now it is time to fix the crowns and a 3 unit bridge that was adjusted down to zero chewing surfaces causing my teeth to slide all over the place. 10 days after molds were done, I receive a call from Dr. Kulkarni with her office manager in the room next to her which I thought was odd. I guess a doctor needs their hand held when they are delivering untruths! Dr. Kulkarni stated, I decided I won't be able to work with you because I may not be able to make you happy. HUH? I'm not unreasonable. I know the process of replacing crowns is not fun but I'm a big girl I can handle it. Dr. K went on to dig a deeper hold stating, we just don't have the technology to help you! HMMM ok you are a prosthodontist but you don't have the technology to replace crowns and a 3 unit bridge. Very interesting but really stupid! I have filed a complaint with Health Partners and a complaint with the State of MN Health Dept about Health partners. I pay for top tier dental insurance and I want to know why their in network specialists are being dumbed down/crippled when it comes to my treatment plan which I know is about 12k of which almost 1/2 will come out of my own pocket. I don't know about you, but if there is an expert listed in network, I expect to be able to work with any one of them that I feel comfortable with. Dr. K was so far the very best on every level. But sadly, she works for a chain of clinics who are providers of Health Partners MANAGED CARE who will go to great lengths it appears, not to pay! Is The Dental Specialists top management getting a big fat bonus to stop their experts? Nothing is making sense to me. Most businesses are in need of revenue so is there incentive to turn away business and still earn $$ ??? what is going on. I'm sorry Dr. Kulkarni was caught in the middle. Dr. Kulkarni said she is directing me to the U of M graduate program like I am poor and have no insurance. I already visited U of M dental specialty program and both me and my husband were wondering what we were doing there. Within my first few moments of speaking with Dr. McNeil a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I knew this was my last stop because Dr. McNeil gave me multiple solutions and the average costs associated with each. He was able to give me all of the answers in one appointment. My new crowns look and feel amazing and I'm confident in them. I would definitely recommend all of the doctors at the Dental Specialists! read more

I have to say I was shocked when I read the other two reviews for this dental office. We have been taking our boys there for about 5 years and are so happy. There are certain things that we use here that are not covered by our insurance, but I have never felt overcharged for anything. I have three boys, two are diagnosed ASD and the other has anxiety about the dentist. We started going here when the boys were 5, 3, and an infant. I would not consider going any where else. Even now with the change of dentist, we couldn't be happier. They have always been unbelievably patient and kind to the boys, explaining every thing along the way. Even making accommodations for my one son, like doing most of his work while he is sitting rather than laying down. We have never been surprised by any sort of payment, as we are given an estimated cost of procedures before we even make the appointment for any sort of work, and since our autistic boys have sensory issues that make every day brushing a challenge, we have had to have quite a bit of work done. I have recommended this place to many ASD families as our experience has been so positive. Everyone has always been friendly and kind, and I imagine we will be going here for many more years to come. read more
