SUPER disappointed with the job the Detail Shop did. I came here because I had heard great things about their work and my car needed to be cleaned after numerous road trips. My biggest concern was a sweet tea spill in the backseat that wasn't taken care of. I asked for an interior detailing with my seats and carpet shampooed, everything wiped and vacuumed, etc. and an exterior clean. I dropped off the car at 9:30AM and picked it up at 5PM. Honestly I feel like they didn't even try because there were a lot of "details" that were not taken care of. One good thing was he admitted that he wasn't able to get the stain out from the back and charged me less in the end but I still paid $60 and left a $15 tip. When I got the car I asked if it was dry and George said "it should be". NOPE. The seats were still damp but underneath the mats, the carpet was still wet and my car smelled like a damp trash can the next day because I took his word for it. They had turned my heat on high to try to dry the carpet and wasted a decent amount of my gas as well (I noticed when I turned the car on and my heat was still turned on high and gas gauge was lower). It's ironic because when I got there I told George, the owner, I had heard great things about them which is why I brought the car to them and he said "oh yeah, well don't believe them" in a joking matter but it was true in the end read more

We have done business with the shop on at regular intervals over the last four years. Consistently, we have been quite pleased with the service and the welcome we have received there. Without exception our stationwagon has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. At those times when we wanted the engine and undercarriage to be cleaned, the car was returned in exceptional condition. Wow! I was definitely not impressed initially when I walked in- the detail shop is not a fancy place by any means. However, George and his team did a really good job on my really gross car. I have a dog, I bring massive dirt and water into my car from hikes and mountain bike rides, plus I had grossness from a cross country road trip I did LAST year where I lived out of my car for 3 weeks. So you can imagine how gross my car was when I brought it in. They charged me a really amazing price ($85 quote before seeing the nasty level, and ended up paying $100 in the end), and did a REALLY good job! I can't believe they got those year old water stains out!! Again, not a 5 star hotel waiting room, but it had everything I need to wait comfortably for 3 hours. Very comfy couch, reliable WiFi, and by far he cleanest bathroom I've ever used at a car shop (or any business, really). Highly recommend the Detail Shop! read more

Overall, a solid experience. Some things I liked, some I didn't. Things I liked: -Really good detail work. $135 changed the inside (it was really dirty) and outside completely. It felt like they put in extra effort to make it good. I felt like I got great value for my money. -Took an appointment for the next day (many places booked for a week). -Dropped me off and picked me up in the downtown part of Black Mountain instead of making me walk/wait in their office (I live in Lake Lure, so pickup/dropoff wasn't an option). -Very pleasant people to talk to. Things I didn't like: -I arrived in the morning and they said they didn't have an appointment written down for me. -Estimated cleaning time was about 3hrs on their website. I ended up leaving with my truck at about 2:30PM... so 5.5hrs. Seems like a scheduling mix-up because they had too many cars to do. read more

I've never experienced worse customer service than what I received from George at the detail shop. The airbag sensor in my passenger seat was damaged during the detail process. George not only refused to accept responsibility, but he proceeded to verbally attack me over the phone for approximately 20 minutes. He gave me no opportunity to speak or explain my situation. I have never been spoken to by a business owner like this in my entire life and I hope by writing this review nobody else will have to deal with this kind of disrespect in the future.
