Food is fine; wouldn't let me use my Amex even though they take it, so I won't be going back.

After searching Yelp for "Cookies Near Me" we decided to try out Tif's Treats. I had heard of the brand before but never had the chance to engage. Needless to say, I was excited. LoL! As this location sits in the plaza, there is ample parking space. From the outside looking in you immediately notice the COOKIESSSSSSSSSSS. They are sitting in the tall display looking at you, waiting for you to enter the store. Upon entering we were greeted with a cheery hello and took a moment to list over the cookie display. LoL! The establishment is very clean, like very very clean and smells like happy moments and sweet treats. Yep! I got lost in a happy place. I decided on a Brownie and an Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were moist, flavorful, mouth mesmerizing, and sweet tooth satisfying. Best of all, neither was too sweet. Both of these choices have caused me to need to return to try all the other selections. Lastly, I must confess... neither the cookie or the brownie made it to the car. Ha! They were both gone by the time I walked out the store. Now, to be fair, I did have to wait on my friends to get their cookies so I'll blame it on them. LoL!!! Moral of the story, get you some Tif's Treats!!!!!!

Inside the biergarten of wrecking pub there is a commotion. My wife and I are running late for the…read more3pm start time. Farmers, bakers, and artisans of all types are hunched over their goods setting them up for the Atlanta Food swap that has already begun. My young daughter darts off into the crowd with the nimble feet of a seasoned running back. Clumsily I attempt to fallow her while scouting out the best spot to set up my chipotle lime hummus. A quick scan reveals our tardiness has cost us a spot on the central table. We set up our offerings for the swap on the service bar, gomashio and hummus, and start walking around to see what looks good for a trade. After one lap sampling vegan kimchi, sour dough bread, and hibiscus kombucha I am ready to see what Wrecking pub has to offer. The bar has a list of aged stouts I settle on a maple coffee that did not disappoint. After a few sips of the rich creamy stout the call to begin trading is made... We walk around to the items that intrigue us the most and ask their creator if they would like to trade. We ended up getting a beautiful large bag of Kale, a liter of kombucha, 3 different sour dough starters, hibiscus bitterer, and some bread. We are extremely satisfied with our swaps. To participate be sure to check out the website https://www.thehomesteadatl.com/swap as dates seem to move around a little. This is a laidback event that welcomes what ever your artistic, culinary, or farming passion has driven you to create. Even without any goods to swap just come down and check it out while you sip on some great cocktails and or beers from wrecking pub.

Atlanta Food Swap is a monthly get together of folks who love eating food, preparing food, growing…read morefood, and talking about food. Everyone brings in individually packaged food items and you can trade one for one with other people. For example, if you bring three jars of jam to trade, you will walk away with three items you've traded with other people. It's really neat to see what people bring. I've seen people bring homemade cheese, home brewed beer, homemade peanut butter, vegetables and herbs they grow in their gardens, breads they've baked, and eggs from their farms. You don't have to be a chef or an expert in the kitchen to attend. There are always people who are novice cooks but are interested in learning more about food. It's a great way to meet people with similar interests, and also a really good reminder that so many of the foods we eat on a day to day basis can be made at home. As of December 2014, the swap is being run by The Homestead. Check their site to find out about future swaps!
