The memorabilia, posters, props, lay out and lighting were all consistently amazing and interesting. We didn't eat dinner because it was all carbs and no way to pick apart the pasta dishes but we knew what they were going to have before we went so we were able to plan ahead with no problem! They were playing episodes of the Munsters before the movie and it was the perfect mood setter. After the owner took extra time to make sure everyone that wanted to get in could get in he made a great statement of thanks and it was the personal touch that I needed to know that I will be back for sure!

But I paid $40 for two tickets and 1 soda to smell mold, sit in a seat with trash in my cushion and cup holder, have a full trash can, and have a disgusting bathroom. The seats are comfy and the actual theaters are clean, but the bathrooms are always really dirty and often out of TP. I went to see the first Wicked and I noticed 3 stalls had broken locks and a sink was broken. I went to see the second Wicked and the same 3 stalls locks were still broken + a few more and the sink was still not working... and this was a full year later. I also wish that AMC offered a small popcorn, the regular is still just so big. A regular popcorn and a slurpee will cost you around $20 - which is also wild. Overall this theater has potential, but they just need to do some maintain and some cleaning. Also, if their corporate office would allow a smaller popcorn size it would also be great!

A friend brought me along to the Special Parade of Planets Telescope Night and I had a blast. We roamed the roof to various telescopes and were able to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Seeing Saturn's rings and Jupiter's gaseous colored atmosphere was so unbelievably cool. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable as we approached each telescope. On the front lawn, an astrophotography enthusiast had set up shop and was showing live footage of the Andromeda galaxy. Whether you're already an astronomy enthusiast or just want to try something different one evening, the observatory is absolutely worth a visit!

Date of visit: March 15, 2025…read more A smaller, neighborhood theatre that has some updates but is lacking in others, we visited the AMC Antioch 8 during a recent visit to Nashville. There were no kiosks that I could see and Jacob helped us at the box office. He was very friendly and got us on our way into the movie as quickly as possible. I was pleased to see that the theatre featured leather recliners, but less pleased when I found out that my seat didn't work... Patrons in the theatre respected the Movie Theatre Code and while bummed about the non-functioning seat, it was still better than the AMC back home. But another disappointment came in the form of no working soap dispenser in the restroom--though a large bottle of hand sanitizer was made available in lieu of the preferred method of cleansing your hands after using the restroom.

The concession stand was well stocked and had friendly employees. Theatre was spacious, reclining chairs and wait- heated seats. Bless my heart, I loved it. But the most satisfying thing was going to the restroom and it was Clean--- nothing stinky on the floor and they had hand soap and towels. Knock me out of the water.

My husband and I purchased movie tickets through Fandango to see the new Toy Story here. I saw on their website that they validate parking for up to four hours in the Nashville East garage, and thank goodness that they do! I couldn't imagine spending any more money on parking after purchasing two movie tickets for nearly $60 (including fees). However, you get what you pay for, as their movie theaters are beautiful and brand new, with fun loveseat-like couch seats and full service dining. Concession prices were pretty standard, and I love that the popcorn is bottomless, so you can get a refill halfway through the movie if you want! I do wish that you could just place the order through the QR code rather than just requesting a server ... it seems like it would flow more smoothly for everyone if that were the case. We also got an Oreo shake with our popcorn, which was utterly delicious! Note that there is no regular concession stand - you must order popcorn and snacks (or a full meal) through a theater server. Regular rules do kind of go out the window with these full service dining theaters. The woman a few seats down from us was shining her flashlight at her menu for the first 15 minutes of the movie, and it was so annoying! She did it periodically throughout the movie as well. I'm not sure what Hooky could do to curtail this, as I'm sure they want people to order food throughout the movie, so I'll just say moviewatcher beware! The couch seats were comfortable, albeit a little awkward. I really wish they reclined! The audio and visuals were great - we opted for the SDX theater, and it did not disappoint. We didn't get a chance to check out any of the other games on-site, or the full bar available, but we did note their awesome happy hour deals. I am sure we'll be back soon!

The only real positive was that it's new and they're keeping it clean. So at least a step up from the sticky floors of every other movie house we've visited in the Nashville area. They were having problems with the HVAC and the entire center was uncomfortably hot. The seating is mostly love seats, large enough for two. But the seats don't recline and they've chosen to use cloth instead of leather. The seats are already not particularly comfortable, and it feels like they'll get old and worn out pretty quickly. Wonder why they went with the cheaper approach. They do offer food and drink service to the movie seats. You scan a QR code that goes through a "check out" process that's actually just requesting a wait person visit and take your order. Pretty unusual and underwhelming for an established chain. The "table" attached to each seat is very small, just enough to hold a drink and a small plate. The menu, which is the same menu provided in the bar, is typical bar food and not designed for eating in a dark theater. There are very few items other than the drinks that you'd be tempted to try in the dark. The front door of Hooky is out to a two lane major downtown street with no access for ride shares to pull over and drop you off or pick you up. Huge oversight, they must imagine all their customers are walk ups or parking in nearby garages. We're a bit spoiled by previously living in areas with iPic theaters, and were hoping Hooky might provide an iPic like experience. It's a small step in that direction, but clearly with a lower budget and a less experienced design team. I expect we may give them one more try, after the place has a chance to burn in and get their rhythm, particularly if there's a combination of a good movie and a reservation at an adjacent restaurant like Ocean Prime. But our expectations are going to be fairly low.
