I ordered a cortado as well. Hard to find that on most menus. The espresso machine was beautiful and my drink was caffeinated perfection. And I could not make my exit without a couple of items from the pastry case. I bought the pistachio ricotta cake and the amarena cheesecake. All of this was for me and I make no apologies. And it sure works!! Found this place on my first night in Nashvile...went in and noticed what looked like a mad scientists work area...nitrogen rising as the ice cream concoctions were being created. Also noticed that the each of the flavors and add-ons were represented an ice cream periodic table of sorts. A quirky and fun touch!! A really cool thing is that you get to choose your base for the frozen treat (oat milk, ice cream, yogurt, etc) so a very nice touch for those who have allergies or are vegan. I opted for a key lime milkshake and was able to watch then create it while waiting. It was well worth the wait as it was tasty and just the right temperature. A great topping to my day of travel.

We were quite lucky to arrive to an open parking spot right in front and no one in the shop. The worker was very helpful in helping us decide by offering samples. All the flavors were so unique and tasted just as they were named. It was hard to decide! The daughter eventually chose two scoops -- Earl Grey Tea and Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie. For me -- Mango Sticky Rice. It was all so, so yummy and incredibly satisfying! I'm so glad to have finally tried Van Leeuwen ice cream! We'll be making our way to the Cali locations soon. :)
