Super cute Disney store in the temple bar area of Dublin. Great pic opportunities in the store and the basement is all marvel so cool. The young lad in the basement was so nice letting a line of little boys try a mechanical hand on from the movies no doubt making their day! I got a cool pin from Up that I haven't seen even when we visited Disney this past January, and a Christmas themed R2D2 toy to add to our nerdy house of Christmas Star Wars. read more

It is always nice to stop by at the store with my grand daughter. Eva always knows what to get from the store! We bought a nice small frozen castle and she was so happy! We also saw a lovely staff with her beautiful navy headscarf serving a special needs person. He was trying out a few outfits and the staff was very sweet to help him. She was really engaging and helpful and very patient too. I felt touched watching her serving the customer as he kept asking her the same questions repeatedly. but she remained her calm and keep on supporting him. I told Eva that we always have to be nice to whoever we meet because that's what we are here for. As I was exploring Grafton Street, I happened to come across my favorite store in the world -- The Disney Store! Regardless of the city or even country, if there is a Disney store I will be there. There is a difference with big city Disney Stores, and the "regular" Disney Stores. Regular Disney Stores carry the cookie cutter Disney merchandise which can be purchased at any Disney Store or even online. The big city ones tend to carry more city-specific exclusives. The selection may not be the greatest, but it makes these Disney Stores a little more special. Plus, I am sort of a souvenir junkie. Anything with the words "Disney Store *insert random city*," and I am sold. Unfortunately during my visit to the Disney Store, I did not purchase anything Dublin souvenir worthy. Is this not the big city Disney store? I really wanted to purchase something, but the merchandise was not impressive. Not even a Mickey plush with the words Disney Store Dublin! I was also disappointed they did away with the vinylmations. I have one from France, San Francisco and Las Vegas, so one from Dublin would have been nice. They are small, unique, and easy to display. Two story Disney Store, and I walk out with nothing. How is that possible?! They also had life size statues of Princess Anna with Sven, Hulk, and Storm Troopers -- which were great for photos. The store is typical Disney; it has that polished, everything-in-place, designed look. It reminds me of a Vegas casino, with dark ceilings and crazy carpet that's too busy to look at. Don't look up, don't look down, look straight ahead. Everything about a casino is designed to draw your attention to the slot machines. Bells, whistles & flashing lights everywhere. The Disney store is no different: Everything about the Disney store is psychologically designed to get you to focus on the merchandise. Disney's goal is no longer wholesome entertainment, it is to drive the brand by pushing the retail aspect. If you can get past the overzealous pimping of cute characters, there is just something unsettling about the store. It's like that edgy feeling you get after drinking too much coffee. The mood is weird. On a busy afternoon there us just too much energy. Kids come in here and they get whipped up into a frenzy of want and desire. "Mom! Mom! Buy me this!!" can be heard about every 30 seconds. The Disney brand becomes a psychological sugar rush for kids. Children come in and they HAVE TO HAVE everything they see. Sadly the merchandise is not the quality you would expect if you grew up with Disney. In the 60s and 70s Disney merchandise was well made. The sweatshirts were good cotton and the toys were durable. Plus, the marketing was done in a tasteful way. Disney has lost that family-and-wholesome sheen. It is now about pushing cheap plastic crap made in China. The brand has lost the moral backbone that previously supported it. No more Annette Funicello singing M-I-C-K-E-Y... The Mouse is now focused on selling flimsy toys that your kid is probably going to get bored with by the end of the week. Having been a fan of Disney and frequent patron of Disneyland in Anaheim, I was excited about the opening of this store. They had a lifesize Jack Sparrow manikin in the front window. We went in to buy a Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirt. We were sorely disappointed that there were no t-shirts in an adult size. In fact there are no adult sizes of anything in this store. I think Disney has forgotten who pays for the movie tickets... it sure isn't my little princess. read more

I adore the Disney store - well actually I just adore anything Disney. When I walk in the door of the shop it's like a magical feeling comes over me and I get butterflies in my stomach and have to hold myself back from running around the shop twirling and singing and jumping into the piles of soft toys ! Now that I have that off my chest this really is a great shop. It's not as expensive as you may think and they do very good sales. Even if you aren't buying anything it's a great place to browse and they have a little screening area upstairs that shows Disney movies and they have a magic princess mirror that you wave a wand at (Deep breaths) and a princess magically appears !!!!! My only small gripe is the saccharine sweet staff who sound like they are reading from a script all of the time. I understand this is their training but I just don't think it works for the Irish market - I just laugh every time one of them talks to me with a big fake smile - I keep looking around to see if we're being filmed for the Mickey Mouse Club read more

How can anyone not like Disney? And the addition of the Disney Store to our wonderful Grafton Steet just a year ago was reeally a great day. Seeing the wonders of the lovely Disney store as you are walking up Grafton street just brings you back to your childhood days. It ain't the 'happiest place on earth' but the staff sure keeps the dream alive by providing great customer service with a smile. If I need my Disney fix, this will suffice in Dublin. It seems to have more items geared toward younger children but you may find a gem or two for a very young-hearted adult. I did - and it was half off the original price! Believe... :) read more

OH MY GOD, i absolutely love anything Disney! When i heard that the Disney store is going to open in Dublin, i though all my Christmases had come at once! The excitement of the kids going in (and me of course) with the big screen up stairs, the princess dressing room and all the toys and clothes.....it all makes me very happy! The only pity is the size of the store..it is quite small, I would have loved if it was twice the size but in honesty my wallet would be half the size too!! read more

This is one of the better Disney stores I have been in. Right when you think you have seen everything on the first floor and start to leave, there is a stairway in the front doorway (and a lift in the back) which takes you to a second floor. This is where the real magic is up here. My 20 month old son really enjoyed the upper floor that has a nice circular hideaway play thing for the young ones and a movie screen projector. They also have a balance of prince charming, Aladdin, pirate outfits to balance out all of the princess outfits. I suppose if you have a young girl she would probably be in heaven with the extensive princess collection on the second level. The staff are all extremely friendly, the decor is well designed and they have decent selection. The sizes were a little limited in the 1-2 range. Tons of baby things and tons of things in the 2-3,3-4 range. It would be nice to see more of that. Overall, very impressed with the store. read more

Seriously the best personalized customer service I've ever experienced any Disney store. Amanda was extremely engaging with my five-year-old daughter and wanted to know all about her and made her feel very special. We ended up buying a lot of great items in the store and even experienced a first time celebration at their upstairs theater. My daughter was offered to come open the store with a special key in the morning. I forgot my credit card and they kept it in a safe til I returned. read more

I love Disney, this place is heaven for any Disney fan!! They have a ton of amazing stuff, constantly changing their stock as new Disney movies come out. I bought a bunch of Tinkerbell and Frozen merchandise here, but you have to buy it when you see it kinda thing, because the Elsa and Anna dolls I bought were out of stock the following week and I never saw them being sold again! I find Christmas is the best time, that's the only time they stock pyjamas and slippers in adult sizes which I buy every year! That's also when the cute gift sets come out. There is a huge selection of stuffed toys, dress up costumes for kids, stationary and cups, flasks, plates etc. Upstairs they have a kids area with a large TV screen playing Disney movies. The shop background music is always so fun to listen to, and the staff are extra friendly and enthusiastic here. I would avoid Saturday though, your going to be wrestling through crowds of children and their parents it gets that packed! read more

Everybody probably watched any of the many Walt Disney movies, and got familiar with some of the animated characters. Yesterday I was there buying a present for a baby boy of a friend of mine who live in London. A good stop if you are a fan of Disney, although some of the merchandise is very expensive. The toys are kind of segregated into boys stuff on the ground floor and girls stuff upstairs, which is a bit sexist! Also for a store that supposedly caters to kids, there's no toilet (which everyone knows kids need to be within 3 feet of a toilet at all times LOL). They have a good selection of movie based stuff but it is limited in terms of the most recent films, also the selection of Disney TV based stuff is very limited. Firmly aimed at the visiting tourist rather than the likes of Smyths Toys or Toymaster. read more

I love this shop, it's like the most magical place in Dublin, to look at. I always go in when I'm passing by but very rarely I actually buy anything, since everything in it is, very very expensive, however all the merchandise they have is beautifully crafted, made with great fabrics, and statues are painted beautifully. It's a great place to go into when you're passing by, their window displays always look amazing. And the staff is so friendly and helpful. I feel so welcome eveytime I go in. The only thing about the disney store is the prices however sometimes you can get a good deal with a sale on or something, Overall , it's a great experience for adults and children alike. Oh my jaysus, whose idea was it to Christmas shop on a Saturday afternoon in Disney? Not mine. Despite this, it was well organised and the staff were so helpful. We had assistance from one who offered to fetch dresses for us in the sizes we needed and the styles we wanted -a godsend. Her help reduced our stress levels from pretty damn high to fairly manageable. There was also the added bonus of listening to the little ones singing along to Let It Go upstairs in the movie room, the out-of-tune cuteness brought a tear to my eye. My only real complaint is that there is very little air in the place. The aircon was on but it was clearly just recycled musty air in a confined space that was heaving with Christmas shoppers. Not the most pleasant experience, but worth it. read more
