I have had double heart conditions since birth and something told me I need to make sure my heart wasn't messed with after being so sick. Dr. Garoutte and his staff were extremely helpful and have excellent beside manner. They listen and care for your concerns. They performed a stress test/stress echo on me and an overnight halter test. My stress echo confirmed my heart murmur but showed my heart to be healthy, thankfully. His only concern was what the halter test gathered; My resting heart rate was 101 BPM. He expressed how uncomfortable this made him since I was in my mid-twenties at the time and how "You get so many beats in your life time, let's not burn through them this early in your life." He suggested a low mg Beta Blocker but didn't force it on me, asking me "Are you comfortable taking this medication? Do you have any concerns or questions?". I appreciated that! My beta blocker has been wonderful, going on 4-years and my resting heart rate is at a safe 68 BPM. I feel so lucky to have a cardiologist care about my heart as much as I do.

Low and below, I also ended up with cording in my primary right arm as part of the process. Everything I read online about cording is bad and you need to get started right away on therapy to help address before you get a frozen shoulder and arm. My doctors referred me to a place who could not get me in to help work on my cording/lymphedema for over 6 weeks. Not acceptable! I looked up registered therapist who work with this very special issue. After doing research I found that there are only a couple in all of San Antonio and the surrounding area and Alante happened to have several. Not only did they take my call after hours on a Friday night, but hearing what I was going through, scheduled me in for first thing the following week fitting me into their already busy schedule because they did not want me to suffer. Cate (owner and lead therapist) is superwoman! She is fantastic to work with, super sweet and caring, always takes care of me and ensures that I am doing well and like the energizer bunny...just keeps going and going. Cate and her team are a lifesaver. I could not do this life's journey without all of their help and the outstanding therapy that they have blessed me with. I Would Not Go Anywhere Else!!!

Kate Obermiller specializes in lymphedema therapy and she has been a Godsend to my wife. Kate was able to get my wife's swelling under control almost to the point where you wouldn't even notice there was swelling. Not long ago my wife fell and broke her shoulder and that's when we met the other half of Alante Physical Therapy, Molly Fick. Molly worked with my wife to get her arm functioning again after the break healed. Unfortunately, it was the arm with the lymphedema so Kate and Molly worked together to get my wife back to normal. Bonnie who works the front office makes this possible by scheduling Molly to work on my wife's shoulder and then immediately after that she sees Kate to work on my wife's lymphedema. I can't say enough about how these three women take care of the woman I love. You're more than just a patient with them, and my wife couldn't be in better hands.

When we arrived my mother had driven over 2 hours just to be told to go outside and change primary provider after she has been seeing this doctor for over a year. She was told when we arrived at 2:30 to do so outside and then just to be told a little later that it was now to late, it was 3:30 and their machines were off so they would not see her. They told her she would be seen since they did not close until 4:00 however they had a change of heart and wanted to leave early to start their weekend. On top of this we were also told the doctor did not need to see her and that it was not urgent since the doctor did not note the file. Basically telling me that it was not true, my fault and that the doctor leaves notes so it was not the truth. This visit was because of chest pains and so the doctor asked her to drive in so she can receive an EKG and see a heart doctor the following day with the referral. However that did not mean anything for this secretary and did not understand why I was so upset. Not only was my mother frighten but now after making her way to San Antonio they just basically told her to go away so they can end their day early. I had been seeing this doctor for over 10 years and from time to time I could hear them on wanting to leave early so they would turn people away or cancel them. Then I also have received countless EKG and other test so I know their machines when they wanted to work were always off. So telling us that the machines were off at 3:30 was simply an example of just how much her health meant to her than her Friday afternoon. So if you are looking for a new doctor or have an issue with your health being a priority this medical office is not for you. Please look further and trust when I say your health is not a priority. If you would like to ask for names or ask more questions please let me know and I will be happy to share about my experience and all what I have come to know about the office. Including machines working when they want to and of course not feeling your health matters after all. Every medical office in this region should go here to see just how an office is supposed to run. And dear Doctors, make no mistake, there are those of us out here that Will Not sit in your waiting rooms for an hour or two, waiting on You when your staff made the blasted appt time.
