I just had my first meeting with Tony and our German Shepherd/Husky. He clearly has an excellent…read moreunderstanding of dogs and is not interested in using excessive force in his training methods. In that first meeting we discussed several behaviors and strategies to address them. I started working with my dog today and will meet with Tony again in 2 weeks to further hone my skills. I'm looking forward to working with him.

My husband & I were in DESPERATE need of obedience training for our 6 mo old pit bull puppy Yolo…read more Things were so bad that I wanted to get rid of him. So my husband started Googling and found Knucklehead K9. He called & left a msg and Tony called us back within minutes! He gave us all the details of his programs and pricing, and we setup an appt. From the first session Tony set the tone and showed Yolo who was in charge. We were astonished at how quickly he got our dog to listen with just patience, clear direction & treats! My husband and I needed the most training lol! Tony really understands dogs and how they think. He rewards with treats and praise for good behavior and corrects with firm direction for negative behavior. He really taught us how to be our dog's leader. We really liked his training techniques and learned SO much! He is very straight forward and does not sugar coat. It is truly about the owners being consistent and firm. If you're ready for a real dog trainer then Tony is your guy! But YOU better be ready to do the work! We are so much happier with our dog. He's a year old now and we can honestly say he's a GOOD DOG! Sure he's still a pup and has some maturing to do but he has done a 180 since we did the training. We love Tony!

I cannot recommend K9 Lagoon highly enough! This facility is a great example of excellence in every…read moreaspect of dog care and training. The owner, Jackie, demonstrates an unparalleled level of patience, knowledge, and understanding, ensuring that both dogs and their owners feel supported every step of the way. The swimming area is particularly impressive--well-maintained, clean, and designed with dogs' safety and enjoyment in mind. My dog, Nittany, gets so excited when she knows she is heading to K9 Lagoon. She loves jumping into the pool, as well as swimming. Our vet comments on how muscular she is for a golden every time we visit. She tells me the swimming is such a benefit for her now and will help her joints as she ages. Whether it's for therapeutic purposes or simply for fun, Jackie's approach to aquatic activities sets K9 Lagoon apart. Jackie's creativity shines in the training programs as well, which are both effective and engaging. Nittany is an apprehensive and timid dog. She has learned so much through several of the training classes. It's clear that the Jackie genuinely cares about each dog's well-being, tailoring her methods to suit each dog's individual needs. K9 Lagoon is more than just a dog pool; it's a safe haven for dogs to thrive and grow. I'm truly grateful for the positive impact it's had on my dog, Nittany's life!

I can truly say this place is the best place to take your dog or dogs. Beautiful quiet setting…read more My dogs get so excited when it's swim day. We go twice sometimes 3 days a week. Excellent exercise, low impact. I even get into the water with them. A blast. Give it a try!

We've had our dog here on at least three occasions while on vacation. He has gotten kennel cough every time even though he's vaccinated. The second time we opted to have him shampooed before we picked him up since it was a new service they were offering at the time. He was not clean but had a strong doggy deodorant sprayed on him. We decided we wouldn't pay for that again. Also, from this visit, a trip to the vet was necessary as he was not getting better from the Kennel Cough and had to be on antibiotics. This last time was enough for me to bring me to the point of this review. We went to the counter to pick up our dog. After trying to upsell us on a higher price package for our next booked stay, the man behind the desk told us that "he (our dog) has gotten himself into some mud" and that he needed to hose him off so he may be a little wet. Ok, fine. We thought this was strange because he was in an indoor kennel, and if taken out to go to the bathroom, he should have been accompanied. But we anxiously waited to see our pup. He came out and seemed ok but was ready to get out of there. We were not prepared for the odor that emanated from him when we got into the car. It smelled like he had rolled in dog poop and urine for the several days he was there. We rolled down the windows and it was so bad my stomach turned. It took us three baths to get that smell off!! So my question here is, was he taken out to use the bathroom or left to do his business in the crate?! We paid for four potty breaks. Then later that afternoon, he pooped and there was blood in his stool! Ok maybe from stress, so we didn't worry too much. Then later that night from 2:30 - 9:30 AM, our poor pup vomited more times than I can count! He was so dehydrated that he was shaking with every inhale he took. Needless to say, we canceled the upcoming dates we had booked in advance with Besa. I'm sick to my stomach that we paid $300 to have our dog not well taken care of and come home sick. And there you have it...An honest review. If anything, I hope that the owners read this and take heed of what these pup parents have to deal with when they come home and begin to clean up their act.
