That's the point but it is a warehouse setting and your not allowed in to take a tour. Think about it a warehouse and not knowing how many dogs are allowed at once or the square footage. Some dogs need space. Still had high hopes because it was close to work and home and reasonably priced. $28 half day = 6 hours. The application process is pretty much a waiver form releasing the facility from any incident. I loved sending my dog there up until it became more of an obedience class rather than a doggy daycare. No issues of extreme concern were reported until I kept him out because he kept getting sick and he always smelled bad when picking him up. Mind you in the summer at 96degrees you can smell the urine in the air. Regardless I said he is still a pup and needs to build up his immune system. I then as a courtesy to have him re-acclimate to the daycare and was told due to past issues he cannot come back. NO issues were reported. Only to find they didn't want to interrupt "training". So there was no issues until now. When bringing him back he was having an off day nipping. Yes my dog is a feisty character but not at all a problem. He just refuses to eat that day before going which can attribute to the anxiety . Apparently no one knew how to handle him and chalked it up to he is stand-off to the employees and cannot return. I then had to wonder as the girls there who are super nice and they loved my dog and my dog loved going in and being greeted what certification or if there are certified trainers on site. Please look around and compare as their rates went up which is ridiculous for what your pup gets. Other facilities have more to offer than 4 walls and an over crowded arena. The application process and qualifications at other daycares are above and beyond as well as they interview you as a client. Again, it's not a bad place the staff are great but If you value your dog and want the best consider alternatives first.

It's also crucial to start earlier on to train acquired bite inhibition (ABI). However, we have that conundrum where most people won't get their pups until 7-8 weeks then you've got the limited window between the multiple rounds of vaccinations before you can start bringing them meet other dogs. On top of that, this year we have the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally when my SO called this place I think they had an automated voicemail that they weren't accepting any new puppies back in June/July. Then when I called again in mid August they only had specific dates in the middle of the week to start on the "first day". It makes sense they want to help the dogs succeed and gain confidence by not overwhelming them with the full class. They also recommend that you pick up the puppy earlier at around 2 or 3pm instead of the full session. The price is affordable at $35 per day and there's a slight discount if you purchase a pack of 5 classes for $150. Their hours are a bit shorter than the big dog full daycare at 8am - 6pm. What's nice is that they also have dedicated nap times here so it's not active time the whole day. They also will feed the class during lunch so you don't need to worry about sending food with the pups. I wonder whether my dog reinforced the preference of eating kibble off the ground rather than from her bowl. They have a fairly small facility especially with the tight front parking shared with other neighboring businesses. As this was my first "daycare" experience I wasn't sure how the updates and photos/videos would be shared with my dog. The actual daycare facility was fine, however the communication between Jody (the owner) and one of the other staff that responded or relayed messages to me or my SO was confusing. I didn't realize that all of the updates were shared throughout the day via their Instagram story... instead of through the Gingr website through a "report card" so we missed the first day. What if the pet parents aren't on social media...? The subsequent days we sent her I was able to capture one of her stories. In addition, we received notice on the first day that she probably would not be a good fit... but no formal message via email or call just relayed in passing to my SO who dropped the dog off. Then less than 1 week later we receive a canned email message talking about "Graduating" the dog soon after starting. Even though most of the dogs in the classes don't graduate until 6-9 months... We learned that she was "too fast, athletic, smart" -- all positive adjectives/euphemisms I imagine to push our puppy out to make room for better pups. Of course this message completely confused me so I responded immediately seeking clarification. It caused me panic trying to find a new daycare so I scrambled to reach out to The Dog Retreat. Thankfully we were able to switch her over and used up the rest of the 5 pack we purchased at the Dog Therapy. Also one day when I picked up Juneau over the summer from the daycare I was waiting for one lady who was bantering endlessly with the owner before I could enter the area. They seemed like great friends and a better client profile fit so after waiting for about 5 minutes they finally wrapped up their conversation giving me an annoyed look as if I was interrupting their conversation. The owner barely even acknowledged me as I picked up the dog with and scant feedback about the puppy's demeanor throughout the day (probably knowing that we soon would no longer be their problem). One other strange issue were "allergens" in the facility. After 3 classes, she started sneezing uncontrollably non-stop... they sent out an email about potential ragweed also warnings for pet parents to keep their dogs home in case of contagious kennel cough. We wanted to be extra cautious as first time pet parents so we took her to the Vet unnecessarily -- it cleared up on its own and disqualified us for future claims with our Trupanion insurance (not directly their fault but still leaves a bad impression) when Kindness Animal Hospital unnecessarily prescribed cough pills now deemed as a "pre-existing condition". Anyway, I could see how this could be a great option if timing works out for you that they accept your puppy early on. Unfortunately we enrolled our dog on the later end of the age spectrum and it felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of her to make room for more Instagram worthy dogs with pet parents that have time to manage their dogs' social media accounts...

Enrolling our rescue dog at Loyal Canines (in Peabody) was the best decision we ever made for our…read morepup. We were struggling with his leash reactivity and aggression towards other dogs. He also had a bad habit of jumping on people, high enough to bop them on the face. We hired an in-home trainer for 2 days, which was helpful with a few things but certainly not with the aggression and leash reactivity issues. We enrolled in the 3 week Bootcamp training session and recently completed it. Jay was AMAZING to work with. He's very calm and rational and ensured that any concerns that we had were addressed. We also know he treated our dog with care because when we went for our first follow up visit, Brewster was soooo excited to see Jay and gave him a lot of affection. Brewster does recall off leash and does not jump or bark excessively any more. He can walk right by dogs without freaking out. For just the few days we've had him back he's been the best companion we could want. Loyal Canines was recommended to us by a coworker who had his dog go through the 2 week Bootcamp training session and came back as a calmer, more confident, obedient dog. So I can attest to two success stories and could not recommend them more!

Penny is 11-months old and we weren't looking to just leave her with anyone or locked in a crate all day. Melissa was incredibly responsive and was promptly able to schedule a meet-and-greet. She runs her business out of her home and that's exactly what she offered; her home. Penny had access to her crate but was ultimately welcomed to socialize with the other dogs, including Melissa's. There is a fenced in back yard that she lets the dogs play in, between naps and cuddles. She also sent several picture updates, which made this pup mama so happy! It all began when my husband planned a 2 week overseas trip for our anniversary. I've heard horror stories about some pet sitters and knew I had to find the perfect one or I would cancel the trip and probably end up divorced. I interviewed 4 people before meeting Melissa. As soon as we spoke on the phone I knew she was going to be the one. She really understood the level of care I expected (and was very patient with me). We did two trial over-nights and the dogs did great. Each time we arrived we could see the dogs lounging on the couch from the door :) So we just picked up our dogs after our 2 week trip.
