Okay y'all I'm updating this because I trusted this place with my second dog he is 6 months old and I'm SO HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE!! He has been to pets smart twice before for the introducing of grooming.Arlo is hyper and jumpy they were truthful with me when I got there that they were unsure if they were going to cut his hair only because he was jumpy which is normal for allll groomers BUT when I picked him up 2 hours later (good timing). HE WAS CUT AND SHAVED ALL UP. Smelling good they updated me on how he acted and he was a good boy! I definitely still recommend this groomer ! I will definitely be going back! read more

I have been coming for many years under the old ownership. Service always phenomenal. Staff friendly and on point. The new system is not user friendly. You have to book online then wait for them to email back saying appointment ok. Well they are not quick to do that so appointment always up in air. I booked appointment for 1100 and dropped off my fur baby. Come 1245, no call, so I stopped by and they told me they had no started on her. A simple phone call saying they were running late would have been nice. So I left, 35 minutes later they text saying my baby was ready. The butcher job they did was horrible. Her nails were barely trimmed, face was long on one side. Uneven. $72 for this hurried shave, not groomed, just shaved was what I wanted. I should have shaved her myself. I am beyond disappointed with the service. Wish old ownership passed on good skills. I will not be returning. Btw, no apologies for running late. I'm done. I do not recommend. read more

After just moving back to San Antonio, I needed a groomer for my baby. They seemed to be great and well known from the reviews. I dropped my pup off and everything seemed okay. I let them know that he gets a little mouthy when tugging on his beard, but has never snapped. They called me around 3pm to let me know he was ready. I didn't answer the phone and they proceed to blow my phone up and tell me if I wasn't there by 4 that I would be charged extra. I picked Dexter up and he was very excited to see me per usual. The lady seemed to be OK when I was paying, but after I was done paying she told me that "they would no longer cut my hair because he was too nervous for them." Dexter's hair was not cut how I wanted it, his beard was cut off because it was "too matted." Well we got in the car and he looked at me and I noticed that the blood vessel in his eye had been popped out. I contacted them and they did not answer the phone. I even texted the lady and she didn't respond. Obviously you had the restraint tied too tight around my dogs neck to make the blood vessel from his eye pop. I will never go to this groomer again even if they didn't tell me that they won't cut my dogs hair because he's too nervous. 10 out of 10 do not recommend this pet grooming salon. They didn't cut his hair how I wanted and they were rude. read more

So today I received an email from Yelp that indicated they had received complaints regarding my review of the Dog Washer. I stand by my original review and after the Dog Washer failed to address the injuries caused to my dogs, I appealed the matter to the credit card company. Guess what, the credit card company substantiated my claim and issued a refund! Of course this did not cover the vet bill and medicine for the eye injuries (let alone my time), but it goes to show bad businesses cannot idly sit back when they damage something-and in this case INJURED MY DOGS. Anyone who asks for a referral will first hear my warning not to patronize this establishment--especially if you care for your dogs. read more

Wanted to put zero stars. My parents tried this new pet grooming place for the first time and the last time. We dropped off 2 dogs at 12pm and when we picked them up at 4pm my dog was dropped off at my house by my parents. The first thing I noticed about my dog was that her inner eyelids were sticking over her eyes and are solid red. We took my dog right to the vet. The first look on the vets face was horror. The first thing she said was my dog was choked. So we got her some eye drops and went straight back to the groomers. The owner said that it didn't happen there and he's not responsible for what happens to the dogs at the time they are there. And said it could be the soap they used. They've been open for 6 weeks now. Hope they don't make it to week 7. Avoid this place. read more

I should've read the reviews. But my friend recommended this place. If you have a new puppy and want somebody loving that takes their time DO NOT here. From the get go had bad first impression. She seemed very rush and wasn't very attentive. My dog seem very traumatized when I went to go pick him up. She waited till I paid and gave a tip to tell me that my 4 1/2 month old puppy weighing less than 35 pounds will no longer able to come . Her excuse was that he is going to get big. Like I said if you're looking for somebody nurturing and caring specially for new pups, first time groomers do not come here. She wouldn't give me a quote over the phone, charged me $70 for puppy cut. read more

DOOO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!! The last time we took our dogs here they cut one of my dogs nails without asking us and made him bleed but NEVER told me about it, I found out once I got home and had blood on my shirt then I realized they cut them and NOW May 28/2018 we took both of our dogs in again for BATHS ONLY and they got soap in my dogs eye making him get an ULCER! We took him into the emergency room when he couldnt open his eye and it got super swollen about an hour after I picked them up and now $130 later we were told it was from the soap that got in his eye and we now have to give him eye drops every 2 hours for 3 days or more and he has to wear a CONE till its healed.... lost my business they didnt even mention that they got soap in his eye when I picked them up! So disappointed and will NEVER take them back and will be telling everyone not to give you guys business! read more

But they did not call to notify me he was done (I had to call after 2.5 hours), and he was visibly distressed when I picked him up. He has never been like that before. Been here twice. I like the fact that they don't need an appointment. It's less chaotic than petsmarts. I've been once on a Wednesday and once on a Friday. Took my dog doe a quick sanitary and nail clip/buff. The lady in the front took my pup back and immediately I could tell in her tone that she wasn't happy. I heard my dog attempt to jump but may have missed the table. Then I heard clipping and "STOP. STOP. STOP.!" I got up to look and she yelled "Mam, it's going to be an extra $5 because she tried to bite me!" I told her "okay, but your tone isn't helping." She continues to day "because she is trying to bite me." I told her "my dog isn't a bitter." But I could see my dog getting upset. My dog had never hurt another groomer doing her nails. Never have I had a bad experience with a groomer and my pup. She then asked me to come help HER! I told her okay. While I was holding my pup so she could Dremel her nails, she kept pulling like tug a war with my dog to dremel her nails! I told her "That's it. Your done." She said "That will be $35!" I told her "I'm not paying you for this, you didn't do anything!" She then stated she did the sanitary and clip. I told her that I would pay for that and that's it. I can't believe how she yelled at my dog and was pulling my dogs leg! To the point where my dog was yelping! Awful experience! Won't take her back to a place that is managed by people who don't know how to do their own profession! Btw! There I forgot to mention, when j called all they cared about was if my dog was aggressive and signs everywhere that they won't take aggressive dogs. I mean, it's a grooming facility for dogs. If I could leave no stars I would we have been taking our 3 dogs there for years and today was the last day I would ever take them! When my husband went in to pick them up they had my dog muzzled when my husband asked why they ignored him so he asked again and she said he was loud. Well if he was loud you should of called us to pick him up right when he was done or called to see if it was ok to muzzle him which you didn't. We have never had this problem there and to all of a sudden happen is ridiculous! I'll never go back and my friends that go there I'm also telling them not to go back! We didn't even get an apology. Took my both my dogs in for a grooming on the same day I made the appointment. They both came out looking great. Smelled good and had little bandanas on. When I took them in they looked terrible and one was matted. Very happy with the service. I was recommended to this place by a costumer I was talking to at the Vets office. I love this place. Our shitzu needs extra attention and a gentle touch. They provide it. They give dogs, our loving members of family the attention they deserve. Great prices, too. I love that it's family owned and helping out the local economy. We need to use small businesses. Especially this place. They are really good. Dog owner BEWARE, the staff are rude. We will never take our poodle there again. We caught our poodle rubbing his butt on our new carpet after he got groomed 2 weeks ago. When we brought him in to get his annual cleaned because obviously it may have been missed during his service, the staff tried to blame it on soft food. We DON'T feed him soft food! Then they said there were lots that came out, duh that why we think it was missed on his service. They charged us $10? Our poodle will get his grooming somewhere else. read more

This is the worst haircut my pet has ever received. There are different lengths throughout her entire coat and there are patches of her skin that are showing. My instructions to the groomer were not followed and when I called the customer service I received was absolutely horrible. The associate names Jessica was unsympathetic and uncaring. She showed no remorse for the awful haircut my pet received. I suggest anyone looking for a groomer to stay away from this place. They do horrible work and take no responsibility for it. I read the reviews to see if what happened to my Havanese happened to any other dogs, and it did. He came home with blood red eyes and a cut on his ear that seemed to have been treated with super glue. They never mentioned a word about it. We've gone several times, each time being a little worse than the last, but this was the final straw. I will never go to that groomer again. They don't listen either. We ask for the eyelashes not to be cut and they always cut them. I thought at first it was the language barrier, but the young woman up front speaks perfect English. I guess their customers aren't important to them. That place needs to be monitored by a licensing agency. They never even ask for proof of shot records. Kennel cough is a real thing, have all your customer's dogs been treated? I pray that you go to school to properly handle animals, because these dogs are not just dogs to us, they are our family. They don't deserve your lack of care and mistreatment, they can't speak for themselves. read more
