Beware of charges! I left my 2 dogs for 11 days. I was charged $880.00! On line the boarding fee was $33.00 for 1 and $30 for my other one. My male was a graduate of their school. I bring their food. My dogs shot papers were never shown. My dogs are sweet socialized pets. I asked why I was charged so much Kim said the fees have increased I showed them the online price. "Bait and switch " they charged a lot more. It doesn't matter what time you leave them or pu they charge a full day. I feel I was a longtime customer and was driving 1 hour to take them. I WILL NEVER LEAVE MY DOGS HERE FOR BOARDING AGAIN! Dropped my two perfectly healthy dogs off for boarding for two weeks. When I picked them up they both had massive skin infections and double eye infections. See photos. They were acting weird when when I picked them up and when I took them to the dog wash (because they failed to bathe them like I requested) I noticed the trauma. They were not acting right. They would not eat or play for almost a week afterwards. Boarding is stressful enough on dogs but they definitely experienced some trauma. Bottom line if you are looking for a safe place to ensure the well being of your dog when you are gone this is not the place. Price for two dogs for 2 weeks $600 and an additional $400+ to have your dogs treated by a vet after. Side note: they insist you pay for all your boarding fees before you even drop them off! They get all there money up front! As others have said Kim is very rude and condescending. read more

The Dog's Spot is awesome. So far I have boarded my dog, left him for doggy day care, had him trained by the owner and we, Bix and I, are taking private weekly competitive obedience training lessons there. Boarding/Day Care: The boarding facilities are unique and the best I have ever found - and I have lived all over the US plus in a number of other countries. Bix enjoys spending time there and is always happy to be left. The facilities are well looked after and very clean. Access to water, shade, air-conditioning (or heating) is always available to the dogs. The big, open group runs provide lots of exercise and are always supervised. Training: I have been training dogs most of my life. Kim's methods are very humane and just plain work. She really understands how canines think and easily modifies her methods to best fit each dog. I wouldn't be training withh her on a weekly basis if I wasn't super impressed by her understanding and tuition - teaching me to teach my dog. Bottom Line: My dog is like a member of my family. I am very happy to leave Bix at The Dog's Spot as I am confident that he is in the best of hands. There is one facility, outside Johanesburg, South Africa, that is run on similar lines, and this is my second favorite Boarding/Training/Doggy day care place in the world. We dropped off our 3 month old lab puppy for some basic obedience training a few weeks ago. Kim and her staff did an excellent job laying the ground work that would have taken us months if not longer to accomplish. We both work and have a toddler at home, so we did not have a bunch of time to get the learning process started on our own. If you are even considering this, do it. It is worth every penny! I went to Forsythe park last weekend to test out some of what he had learned. While I was distracted for a moment, he made eye contact with a couple 20-30 yards away walking towards us. He took off at a dead sprint to greet them. When he was nearly to them I saw what was happening a called him to come. He turned on a dime and came flying back to sit at my feet. For a 4 month old puppy, that seems pretty impressive. I thought calling him was going to be a waste of breath. It would have been with out last pup. The look on their faces was one of amazement as well. That is just one example of the type of return on investment you get with The Dog Spot and Kim. read more

My 3 1/2 year old Australian Cattle Dog, Hope, just complete the boot camp training at the Elabell location. I am already impressed by her ability to walk with us off leash, consistently go into a "down and stay", and her increased level of confidence! We took our dogs to Kim and one of them came back with gushers on his head and neck, would not eat or drink, and was not acting like himself at all.
