A take on little red riding hood
Morgan P.

Attended the Halloween show at magicopolis with a group of 9. The show was.... interesting. They had incorporated a horror theme in ways such as a sexy zombie strip tease, horrifying lap dances, sensual vampires, etc. overall the quality of the show was better than I had expected from reading these other reviews. We all had a good time and enjoyed the show!

Magicopolis show.

Burlesque is something that can be hit or miss, I have seen shows in the area and sometimes well...it's just bad. But, every time I've gone to see The Dollface Dames I have always had an awesome time. The girls are gorgeous and super talented. In fact, this is probably the most talented group in L.A. They perform at a few different venues in Santa Monica and one in Hollywood, so I found out they perform a lot. They have a big monthly show as well at an 150 seat theater called Magicopolis. The Dollface Dames stand out to me because they aren't just sexy, they are entertaining and offer much more than just a strip show. With it being a classy, fun and non-sleazy night out, it's a been a great choice to bring a date to. Love the girls and am very impressed by the talent.

Biggest waste of money. The place was dirty. I paid extra for the VIP experience which got us nothing. The girls were gross.

So, some people who are reviewing the programming or staff are actually reviewing SMC, not BroadStage or vice versa. I have never attended an SMC performance so I can't speak to their programming or staffing, but BroadStage has very interesting programming & very kind staff. Since BroadStage programming is so eclectic, though, some of it just isn't of interest to me. Different strokes....

Choose wisely what you come for. If your intuition tells you this artist was maybe brought in simply on connections and what community they're a part of then listen to your gut. I say all of this because there are so many deserving and talented productions out there that deserve and would love the privilege of being paid to perform here but to see the opportunities squandered on the same old stories and inner circle artists is enough for me to think long and hard before buying tickets to this theatre again.

Absolutely incredible Studio; an unparalleled environment for growth and expression for artists…read more From the faculty to the culture, you can't ask for a more rewarding experience. FACULTY: During my 2-year technique program I had both Anne Dremann and DW Brown. Two of the greatest instructors you can possibly have. My amazing growth is directly due to their hard work, knowledge and dedication to the art. And that goes for any instructor at Baron/Brown, I have had substitutes as well as private coachings from other instructors at the studio, and all of them are extremely hard working and dedicated. Any one of them would be willing to give you the world if you were willing to work for it, and it's truly inspiring to have that kind of support. I can't be more thankful and indebted to their devotion to the art. CULTURE: Hard work, that is all that is asked of you and if you bring that, your abilities and growth can be limitless. Everyone is welcome with open arms at Baron/Brown, a wonderfully diverse environment where everyone can thrive and build a true foundation for a long career in acting. The Studio makes a priority to diversity and it shows, such a wonderful experience to grow with so many students from so many cultures and backgrounds, and that allows for the most beautiful art I've ever witnessed, to be created . I couldn't recommend this Studio more to anyone looking to build a true, long lasting foundation in acting. Not JUST the Meisner technique, but Joanne Baron, who herself is an absolute Godsend to those of us striving for knowledge and striving for greatness; she learned directly from Esper himself, meaning this is the truest form of the technique you can possibly learn from today. The studio does not teach you to "act" or to even "react" ....but to LIVE it. My time at Baron/Brown was an incredible life changing experience, and that is all due to the staff, the unmatched instructors who give their ALL and to the studio as a whole. No matter who you are or where you are from, Baron/Brown WILL create, with open arms, an everlasting artistic foundation in you. From my own experience: Hard work is the foremost talent, if you bring that, then achieving great things, is not a matter of possibility....but a matter of time.

Additionally the community of artists, from students and teachers I've come across made the journey so much fun even during challenging times.
