I brought my daughter here for a special winter toddler time that was from 10am - 1pm at $5/child. It was okay, and I would return. I expected a lot more blocks and building toys but my toddler was able to have a lot of fun and make her rounds. They had soft frisbees, soft balls, little bikes, etc. There was a face painter who was not only talented, but was super fast and we appreciated that because the line was long and toddlers can't be expected to be so patient. I had no idea this facility runs as a gym also. There's an area off to the side with equipment. They have a track. I was aware however, that many different teams hold practice here. read more

The Dome provides an all weather training facility for everybody from serious athletes to casual walkers . This facility is especially important in Anchorage .(no explanation necessary ) The staff and management at the dome does an excellent job of keeping massive sports competitions running smooth . This is one of the few places I know where you can actually reserve a pickleball court up to 3days ahead. The dome is a valuable venue for people from all walks of life . read more

The dome is an incredible facility! They have excellent customer service and do their absolute best to take care of everything that they have there, including their workout equipment, the track, the field, and the locker rooms. Also a huge shout out to the people that go up to clear the snow off the top of the dome every winter. That is not an easy task and I truly appreciate all of the hard work that goes into that. They have a awesome toddler time during the week. It's goes from 8 am to 1 pm, the kids like to help clean up at the end. Now there are Karen moms and grandmothers who start cleaning up the toys at 12:45 when other kids are still playing. It's completely annoying and not necessary. A grandma actually took a ball. I can't say too much about the specific amenities within the Dome or membership, but I can tell you that a bunch of kids soccer leagues use the turf on the weekend, so that is my exposure. The turf is soft and nicely maintained. It is quite large and divided into 4-5 huge areas that are color coded. Very bright and despite it's size, good temperature maintained. There is a nice, multi-lane track that goes around the edges which seems like a great place to run and certainly beats a treadmill. On the second floor, there is a nice space that can be used for parties or just to have a snack. They have lego tables for the kids. Bathrooms are clean. I saw a window for a Kaladi coffee shop, but it wasn't open when I have been there on Saturday mornings (despite the sign suggesting it would be). Huge parking lot with plenty of spaces, although I would love if there were additional entrances. Can be a long walk in the negative degree weather. I know they also host birthday parties which I have heard are fun. A nice alternative when you want to get some exercise, but don't want to be out in the cold too long. read more

Track, turf, free weights, weight machines, batting cages - The Dome covers a wide range of interests. Until I bought my Icebugs, I was terribly averse to running outside in the winter. Enter: The Dome. The Dome is NOT flashy. You get a cheap membership (mine was a family membership @ $599 annually, split between 5 people, so essentially $10/mo. Individual plans are $60/mo). They offer free fitness classes (one per night, week nights only) that are rarely well-attended. I've seen classes held with only one person before! Talk about cheap personal training/instruction. I joined because my running group meets there every week. The track at the Dome is the largest indoor track in town @ 413.5m, so you get just under 4 laps in a mile - slightly less boring than a smaller track. The Dome also has some kind of Kids Night thing once every quarter or so, where parents can bring their kids for the evening and the kids will be reasonably entertained in an active way. While I'm not a parent, some people might find that a bonus. Least boring place in town to run in a circle for an hour or more, and it won't hurt your wallet. read more

The dome is a great place and we had a lot of fun there, but there was one staff member who was following my friends and I around for a while and then came up to one of my friends and said "what are you doing on my field and if you don't act right you'll have to leave" we did nothing wrong and when my friend was leaving, he kept following him and made us feel uncomfortable. read more

The Dome is a huge sports complex. It's a wonderful place if you're the one being active. As a parent of a soccer player and only observing: come prepared. It is COLD inside! Zero heat. I would recommend if you tend to be cold naturally dress as if your game was outside. Aside from the internal frostiness it's a nice place: clean, vending machine avail for waters if needed, metal benches to sit along one side of the dome. read more

I've gone here for years now and I go about 3-4 times a week and I have to say, I love it. Sure it doesn't have the greatest workout equipment and may not have everything required for training but it's an indoor track. How else can a track runner train in the winter? Sure CrossFit and swimming are good programs but the dome allows Alaskan runners to actually run and compete with the rest of the US. I train here in the summer too so the sun doesn't drain me and rain doesn't soak me. It always has a constant comfortable temperature and fresh air blowing in. Perfect environment for training effective athletes and preventing injuries. The employees are noticeably friendly and chill and love to greet you on the way in and out the door. read more
