I can't stress enough how important it is to get into the Vet Center and see what's going on BEFORE you get into a situation that requires you to need services. I say this because although the staff here are friendly and pretty fast (for a government agency), VA claims take a long time to process. While this is happening, you don't want to be in need. The Vet Center on Golden State has plenty of parking and an organized sign in system. They have a good bit of room in the waiting area, and seem very interested in getting you what you need. There was no judgment and Laura was a great instructor! Other participants who were more experienced were helpful and encouraging too. The Wilson Branch is small, but it's a comfortable place to do homework. The WiFi is fast and there's a good amount of seats available. However, today wasn't the most productive since it was pretty loud and many children were running around the library. It was quite distracting.

It was so nostalgic for me entering this building after so long. It was just how I remembered it but it does seem as though there aren't as many books on shelves as it use to be. I get it because I am a strictly kindle ebook reader now and a bit of a germaphobe. The staff was friendly and helpful and made my daughter's first experience at the library a great one. She was able to quickly find five books to check out and is excited to return to get some more.

I'm a huge historic building lover and the Brower Building is no exception…read more Funded by Celsus Brower and build by contractor CJ Lindgren in 1910 it was built to house the offices of the Standard Oil Producers Department as well as offices for local, retail, medical, real estate, and legal businesses. The USO opened a 25-cot dormitory for visiting servicemen on the third floor in 1943. The main anchor store for quite some time was Wickersham Jewelry Store from 1911 to 1988. I had the pleasure of visiting this building while a friend was working here for a few here's in a rented office. Of course, the parking was tricky until he purchased a parking pass in the 18th street and Eye structure. Inside, you could see remnants of everything old and wonderful. 5 stars for everything historical. But... 2 stars for the care maintenance of the current owners. I realize times can be tough and when I was visiting often it seemed that tenants came and went very frequently. Walls were extremely thin and conversations could easily be heard. Kind of awkward if you're a lawyer or engaging in private matters. There are definitely some charming aspects to this building, but it really could use some TLC.

In this day and age, everything is done online...including reading a book. I exclusively use the kindle app which means I'm usually reading on my phone or one of my kindles. A few months ago my Hoopla app stopped allowing me to rent books so I was forced to go to the library. Although there are not nearly as many books in the library as there were in my hey day, the library was extremely clean and very well organized. I got myself all squared away but will be returning soon to sign my kids up for their library cards especially after seeing their extensive manga section, which they both love.

I really enjoyed them…read more They have a service for kids at 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock during the week which is really nice and helpful to a lot of us families. They have a great playroom that people can be imaginary. My kid doesn't even pay attention to book so it's nice to have a book and then read for like a minute or so haven't played for a couple minutes and have them read and go back back-and-forth. It's a really good time to have outside and not in front of the screen.
