I have recovered well from both a knee and shoulder replacement, one following the other in a few months,and had therapy with Kris before and after the procedures. My husband is dealing with a chronic condition requiring therapy over a long period and Kris has provided wonderful support and assistance to him. I cannot say enough about Kris' responsiveness, encouragement, and very calm demeanor. He listens well to all our concerns freely offering helpful suggestions. Marcus, Jordan and John have been very helpful as well seeing to it that we are being cared for. This Twin Boro facility offers an efficient and friendly environment where everyone seems willing to pitch in. The office staff including Anastasia, Jan, Stephanie and Nicole are always friendly and willing to work with us and our changing schedules. There were several times when there were 6-10 patients there with only 1 or 2 physical therapists. The PT assistants were not good. They would approach me and ask "what exercises did you do last time"? Never checking my file or consulting with my "PT". I also thought that the staff had excessive conversations with each other about sports, places to eat and their weekends. I felt like I was at a "frat party" several times. Unprofessional in my opinion. They did not focus on the patients. They were quick to assign several exercises and then leave you to do them never supervising or checking if you were doing the exercises correctly. In addition, loud music was playing every time I was there ...the manager constantly changing it and checking in with the staff to see if they liked it. Really? The last appointment I had was a Friday at 3. There were 7 patients there while a baby shower (or some sort of party) going on during business hours!!!!!! All PT's and assistants were enjoying the party while we were sitting there for over 15 minutes waiting to start out session - SO UNPROFESSIONAL! I shared this with my Ortho Doctor and he said this was the only place he herd "not so good" things about this palce.

He listens and responds with helpful treatment and makes suggestions to help me get back to my normal functioning level. He has been wonderful with my husband, Kenneth who has Parkinson's and who he has also seen many times. Kris is sensitive and considerate and is always including therapy that is helpful to his changing needs. He has been a godsend and we are both so grateful. The staff and atmosphere in the Westfield office is wonderful. First we are always greeted with a smile. .Everyone at the front desk and in the therapy sessions seems eager and willing to pitch in. Carlie showed up with a beautiful smile on her face every appointment. She has a can do attitude and would listen patiently to any health concerns I had. Patiently, she would answer positively and always offer any help possible. One stair step was difficult but she made it fun. She would say "It was a once in a lifetime accident, it happens. Don't be worried. You will get stronger. I will help you feel confident on the stairs again." She provided me non-stop hope and cheered me every time I was able to do more. I passed my test and Carlie will be cheering someone else along. Her beautiful spirit fills your room and air with encouragement. Carlie said goodbye and offered a hand up if I needed it in the future. She wanted me to feel comfortable becoming independent again. I have been profoundly blessed by the presence of this beautifully spirited angel in my life!! At first, I felt that I didn't need a therapist. I didn't want a serious, self centered person showing up. I was terribly incorrect because Carlie was from a different mold. She made me look forward to getting strong again. I wouldn't say the staff is exceptionally friendly, a little bit of uppity (snooty). I returned 6 weeks later as suggested for my 2nd laser (lip) treatment. The first of 8 laser pulses was very painful, only to learn that wearing lip liner, lipstick or lip gloss can have a negative effect on the pulse. Needless to say he pain continued for the next 1-2 days and by the end of the 2nd day there were burns on my upper lip. When I returned on Day 3, they saw how badly my lip was burned, refunded me the $200 and I received communication from the owner/aesthetician apologizing, asking me to come back to get something for the burn and a complimentary treatment. Lauren mentioned that it was caused by the lip cosmetics I was wearing. So why is it not protocol that all lipwear be removed prior to laser treatment. I will not be returning to G Lab.
