There are a lot of positives to this place and we really wanted to like it here. The location is great. We loved that it's a historical home. BUT, Y'all would have earned a better rating except there's a lot of the small details that need to be addressed. First off, if y'all are going to have a door bell to alert the staff that a guest has arrived, please make sure that someone actually answers. Boss Lady walked in and had to search for someone. Secondly, if you're hiring very young people, please teach them all the aspects of hospitality. Thirdly, the breakfast portions are very small. Lastly, the small details make the difference. Please teach your staff to look closely at the rooms. Since there were four of us, we stayed downstairs in the Confederate Room, which was cozy enough but there were a lot of small issues with it. I won't go into detail here but it's fair to say that we will not be back.

Very nice B&B. We stayed in the Pemberton Suite for two nights. Very spacious room. Pros - pool and breakfast. Cons - awkward to be there while they are hosting private events. Especially when those individuals are dressed up. Two events were held while we were there. Carrying in luggage doing one was uncomfortable. Another con - they allow little kids, and the walls are thin!!!!! Screaming kids does not allow relaxation. I would have much rather been in a room on the bottom floor. It's really cozy down there!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and we wanted something different. We found this online and my husband booked it. The pictures were beautiful and couldn't wait to go. We got several text messages about our stay and instructions on how to get our room keys which I thought was weird and interesting. Upon arrival, we did see the lock boxes outside and just walked in. It wasn't what I expected. No check in or anyone inside. You just literally walk in to your room. We stayed in Annies room. It was small but cozy enough for two people. The bed posts blocked the tv. It was simple. Don't expect any good channels except ancient tv shows and movie channels. The bed was soft and we had achy bodies. As for ghosts? Be prepared to get scared. The door inside our room kept opening and closing during the night, like all the way open. Woke up early door was closed, woke up later to an open door. You will here movement and I made sure my husband was always close by. Breakfast is at 8:30 am. Be on time or be prepared to get stared at and the staff make rude remarks. We walked in 10 minutes late and was sat with another couple who looked frightened and uncomfortable to sit with us. The staff kept staying things under their breath. You get served something different every morning. I was expecting a buffet of eggs and waffles. I kinda wish it was in a way. The only thing that bothered me was the staff always looked angry and unapproachable. We took the tour which was ok until the end when we saw the civil war damaged areas. Other than that, it was a beautiful bed and breakfast. I think we paid a lot for what we got though. But I recommend it to anyone thinking about it. You are walking distance from other museums which was good. I would have given this place 4 stars, but husband said 5 all the way. It's a house full of history and ghosts. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and we talked about coming back here.

My daughter and I visited for her birthday, and we enjoyed every bit of our stay. We stayed in the Camellia room on the ground floor. It was a large room with a king bed and private bathroom (I believe all rooms have private bathrooms). You better go to breakfast hungry because it is a big breakfast and it was delicious. LaTonya was so welcoming at check in and staff sang happy birthday to my daughter at breakfast.

The property was well kept and had a really nice pool area. We were greeted at arrival and also was assisted with getting our luggage to our room. The Duff Green Room was just perfect for a large family.

A lovely place to stay. The rooms were clean and tucked under the main house for privacy. The four course breakfast was grand. The bed and sheets were comfy. The mansion and town were quaint and historic. The host provided a historic tour of the house after breakfast. I highly recommend a stay at the Duff Green Mansion!

We had such an amazing time at this little bed & breakfast! We had the pool to ourselves, I have to say it was one of the most beautiful courtyards I've been in. The four course breakfast was phenomenal. The beds were comfy & very clean.

Excellent, excellent stay at the Duff! Staff is committed to providing great service and the home is stunning. Full served breakfast with other guests in the large dining room is such a rare treat. Don't miss it!

Check in under the stairs for the rooms down there.

Harley was wonderful and easily reached by text. Breakfasts were first rate. The building itself is a historical landmark and the tour of the hour provided after breakfast (at no charge) was enlightening and entertaining. Unlimited bottle water, coffee, and tea. Housekeeping was unobtrusive and thorough. Loved it and will be back.

I saw that Ron White one of my favorite comedians was coming to Vicksburg so I thought I would go for a visit see good friends, catch the show. Horrible disappointment. The staff did nothing to control the crowd. First 2 large doors next to where we were sitting were left open during the opening act - so a steady flow of people talking and a bright light in the dim room was huge distraction. There was a set of doors further down that could have been used and would have been much less of a distraction. Then once Ron White took the stage my friend had to ask them to shut the doors but that did little to help because they continued to allow constant stream of people in and out. It has always totally escaped me why people will pay $60 or more for a ticket and not sit and watch the show. It is the responsibility of the venue to control the flow of people who are so inconsiderate so those who wish to see and hear the performance can!!! The crowd was lit up with cell phone lights and Mr. White even had to call at least 3 people out about it - an announcement was made prior to the show of course people think that rules are for everyone else that is why SECURITY has to make an example and remove people who are filming or disturbing others with their phones. At one point Mr. White asked a couple on the front row to be quiet - right then security should have come over and at least stood to let their presence be known. Then as the couple continued to be a disruption he requested security remove them - security actually LEFT and several minutes went by before security re- appeared. It was insanity!! Had they been a physical threat to him or others as drunk belligerent people often are there would have been no one to intervene. The final Straw was when those who had been ejected reappeared shortly after "to get her purse"!! These security people were PAID to do a JOB! Needless to say he cut the show short - totally understandable. I have seen him many times and he has never gone on for less than 1 and half hours. The show started at 8:10 p and was over about 9:30 p. Since it was the venues lack of crowd control that caused it they should issue at least partial refunds. I drove 4 hours to see the show. Thankfully my friends are fantastic respectful people with manners who know how to act in public so I did have a fabulous time otherwise. I will NEVER attend any event at this venue. Perhaps next time they should give breathalyzers along with scanning for weapons and stop serving people who are clearly intoxicated. The gentleman sitting next to me could barely walk and he left not once but twice and returned each time with another beer....... EPIC FAILURE of the management. Consider changing your slogan from "going beyond your expectations"....SERIOUSLY P.S. please train your ushers to hold patron tickets down and shine their flashlights down to lead people to seats once the houselights are down as not to BLIND the other patrons trying to see the show. I worked 5 years during college as an usher at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, The Majestic Theater and The Dallas Music Hall - I know how an event should be executed - this wasn't even CLOSE. I have traveled all over the US and abroad - Vicksburg this was a very poor example of "Southern Hospitality" for which the south is known - The Red Carpet City rolled it up this night!!.
